Very positive experience -timely -took on an incredibly hard project others could not solve -the service -executed well -good value for money given the magnitude and hazard of the work required For context, I bought a home that had a pool house rat infestation that went unchecked for YEARS. It was wild... you could smell the barnyard smell as you approached the pool house. The home inspector saw two rats in the middle of the day as he was looking around. Everything was badly badly covered in thick black piles of rat waste. I paid Terminix over $6000 to seal the entrances of the home and pool house then another $2500 to clean the attic, remove the contaminated insulation and re insulate. After having them back four times to address issues in the attic I called West Coast Remediation. They *actually* restored the pool house. Removing stained wood, encapsulating where needed. Replacing floor boards and insulation that Terminix skipped. For context: these photos are from them... this is the attic crawlspace. Imagine about 300 sq ft like this under narrow eves... Wasn't a "flawless" experience (crew tracked outside dirt through the house, we still have to hire a different contractor to redo the drywall), but on balance, the quality of the work performed, the price, the speed, and *actually solving the problems no one else could* means I'd still rank this experience 11/10 and will definitely recommend without reservations.

Nolan and his team were very responsive and eager to help in our newly purchased, extremely moldy house in Pacific Grove. Communication was never a problem and Nolan really went above and beyond for our house demolition and mold remediation. But the sign of a solid service is when I called 2 weeks after he finished and was fully paid. I told Nolan I took down a little more drywall in the kitchen (not in his original scope) and found more mold. I asked if he could come over and he was there within a day to remediate that new section no questions asked. THAT is the service you want to hire. I could not recommend him more.

The finished wall after mold remediation. His team did a phenomenal job! Many thanks for your talents and energy with this project!

We had him tackle a significant makeover and paint job on our 122 year old cottage. Omar's bid was a good 20% higher than #2. We chose him because of how clearly he talked the details, from paint chemistry for a salt air climate to the right way to replace those old cedar shingles. He also had a new kitchen window created from scratch to match the ones in the rest of the old house. Over the 3 - 4 week project, Omar and his crew invariably left the place immaculate, no clutter, no mess. The answer to nearly ever request was "Yes, we can do that." While they are not cheap, the tab for all of the extras we asked for was fair. And we have no doubt that the work will hold up very well. When you think about how valuable your home is, why would you not hire the best in the business to fix whatever is wrong with it? The property will appreciate, and pay you back 10X over.

The estimate was the most comprehensive that I received, which did build trust even though it was on the high side. In retrospect, the labor rate was too high for the quality of work performed. "Omar the Handyman" didn't do any of the work, he farmed it out. For projects allowing more planning, I don't think that I would work with them again. Doctor-level labor rates for amateur-level workmanship? Nah.

I have been putting off leaving this review but I do feel it is necessary. First off I had written…read morea review approximately 10 months ago, which was a good review for some " Handyman work" Florberto had done for us. I do not doubt that he is a good handyman. The problem I had was when Florberto was here he had pointed out to me the rotting wood around the exterior front window of our home and that he could fix it. Being naïve that I was and not realizing that a license contractor should do a job like this i hired him. A few days went by when he was here and I noticed sheet rock chunks breaking off of the interior wall because of all the hard pounding he was doing which was concerning. I ordered a window (per his advice) to replace the one around the wood rot and he told me to call him when the window comes in so I assumed he had finished what he could do until that time. About a day later, I had another Handyman come to put up a barn door and he pointed out to me that I was going to have a huge problem because it was in the forecast to rain for the next five days and he showed me the open spaces all around the window where the wood rot had been. I found out that Florberto had taken some of the wood rot off and left everything completely exposed and with the rain coming it was going to be soaking into the interior walls and cause even more damaged than there was before. I was shocked that he left everything unfinished. I ended up having to hire, which I should've done in the first place a licensed contracting company who had to take everything that he had done off because it was done incorrectly, and correct his mistakes and then do the job. It cost me $9000 which because of the rain there was only so much we could do to protect the exposed openings all around the window until the contractors could start. This was a big lesson for me and Florberto should never have started something that first off he is not licensed to do and I believe he got in way over his head.If he would have just been honest with me and let me know that we needed to get somebody to fix everything it would've definitely saved me some money and stress. I have posted some photos of how he left the job. Luckily, I had not paid him much even though I not realizing until the contractors got here how poorly the work he did was.
