first of all, i don't have beef w/ the manager she communicates well and I've done business a couple of times. I do rehab constructions with need for repeated business. last project I had entirely different experience. it's the business practice and lack of transparency ppl should be aware of. the request for job i submitted asked for exact pick-up date. I filled in w/ expectation they'll just pick it up or ask. never came so I texted and they picked it up a couple of weeks AFTER I asked...... Then got billed for daily late fees since I requested the pick up 10 days after the 7-day rental period. They blame me for not asking to pick up b4 end of 7 days. no warnings, no transparency, they were never going to meet 7-day pickup schedule anyways. on top of that over weight charges + "late fees" 2x my cost. I get it it's in the contract. But you will likely not be paying for the quoted price for your typical projects if lucky they don't find other things to 2x ur cost. business practice is questionable and I'm documenting w/ BBB as well. read more

I would give ZERO STARS if I could! They will quote you the lowest price when you are comparing debris boxes. Do not fall into the trap of booking the "least expensive" debris box in the Bay Area. They are not. I booked with them and they delivered the box. I paid cash on arrival. I asked when the pick up date would be. They gave me a specific date. They never arrived. When they did arrive I had to help the driver myself cover the debris box. They are useless. A couple days after the box was picked up I was emailed a receipt. They had charged a card I had on file with them from a previous job! It was my clients card! No one authorized them to use this card. They keep cards on file. When I called to discuss this she insisted that debris box was over the weight limit. It was not. It was barely full. She charged me an additional $353.13 in addition to the $755.00 that was paid in cash. They forged my signature on the "contract" once I stated I did not sign a contract. They also charged my previous clients card without permission. I had to dispute the additional charge with my bank. It was a mess! Save yourself the headache. They are a nightmare to work with! If I could give 0 stars, I would. Received the 25 yard debris box on a Saturday just as planned for 5 days. We were told if we finished early, to just call and they'd come and get it. We finished early and called on Monday to have it picked up and was told they would get it in 1 to 3 days. Wednesday rolls around...still here. Called again and they said they would pick it up on Saturday. I said no because I had more materials arriving and needed the space so she says they'll come get it by EOD Thursday or Friday morning. They came Friday and said it was too heavy. They said it could only weigh 3 tons max... what were we supposed to put in there?!!? Styrofoam peanuts!!!??? They NEVER said there was a weight limit. I said we were using it to get rid of dirt...why not mention it then? Now they want us to rent another 10 yard box for $700 (on top of the $975). Beware! read more

Simon, the person who picked up my filled 10-yard and delivered a new one this afternoon, did an excellent job. He called in advance to verify his arrival and to make sure the time would work for me. He also coordinated with the truck that picked up my filled dumpster before depositing the new empty one. Navigating that huge box into my long narrow driveway off of a busy street was very challenging, but he managed it thoughtfully and carefully and did an impressive job getting the box all the way behind my gate. Finally, all his communications with me were clear and kind, which I really appreciated. The person who answered the phone to schedule the switch was also very helpful and did a good job of setting expectations for the job with me. Most of the people I have dealt with have been great. I needed to dump 6 cubic yards of dirt mixed with small rocks. I called West Coast Recycle several times asking for quotes, but I keep telling them I needed to "check with my wife". They were very patient with me. Make sure you tell them what you are dumping because prices vary for different types of trash. Otherwise you will be charged an "extra fee". I was charged a $10 fee, probably for dumping other trash on top of the dirt I was dumping. They didn't tell me about this fee so minus one star. Anyway, the initial quote I got was $465 (I think?) for a debris box, but I didn't tell them what I was dumping. The final quote I got after telling them I was dumping dirt was $765. That seemed pretty pricey so I did some research into dumping it myself. Renting a truck would run around $100 for 5 hours. One cubic yard of dirt weighs around 1 ton. Dumping 1 ton of dirt costs around $100. The total to dump it myself would run around $700! I would also need to make several trips to the smelly dumpsite and fill the truck up with gas. Renting the $765 debris made more sense since West Coast Recycle will drop off and pick up the box at your job site. So I called them Saturday morning to order the box and they were able to deliver the box that day! However, they had to take my job site address and credit card info via text message. That worried me a little, but I trusted West Coast Recycle and hope they will keep my info secure. I gave them a credit card I don't use much and will regularly check my transactions. The last time I hauled trash to a dumpsite myself, my credit card was used to make unauthorized purchases. Overall, I am happy with my experience with West Coast Recycle. Their quick service helped me get my project done in one weekend! read more
