Stay as far away from this company as you can! Ignore the 5 star reviews. They bribe renters with…read morefree padre tickets among other things to get good reviews hence why there are only 5 star reviews and 1 star reviews nothing in the middle. They also created many pages to run away from these bad review so this will be posted to all of them. They are of low ethical standard. They act in bad faith and character. If you have an issue they are impossible to get a hold of. Tim was our point of contact throughout our lease. They were alright throughout the beginning of our lease doing typical quick cheap repairs I like to refer to as "landlord specials" as most landlords do. Where things turned ugly was near the time of move out. They added a laundry list of charges to our deposit. These included carpet cleaning fees, unit cleaning fees, repainting, a pool key that we were double charged for, and a mailbox rekeying fee among many others. They told us that what appears to be the mailbox key was returned and then 2 months later it doesn't work for the new tenant so we get billed for it. We paid for a new pool key and never picked it up and were charged for not returning a key that we never signed out for. But apparently they mailed it to us with even though you have to sign for every key. They are claiming that we crashed into the garage and initially billed us about 6700 for repairs. They then said we claimed responsibility to an HOA member who no one has ever met. There story has changed multiple times. They then filed a homeowners insurance claim and billed us their $500 deductible. They know that none of us were responsible for the damages which is why they already knocked it down from 6700 to 500. Throughout this whole debacle they have been like ghosts. Whenever we call to talk to Tim he was always out of the office. Or no one would answer the phone. It was always convenient no matter what time we called he was never there. When we finally got a hold of him we went back and forth for an hour. Then he told us he would talk to the owners and get back to us by then end of the day. We didn't hear from them for over 2 months after that. Then low and behold Elizabeth "zibby" takes over our situation who is apparently the leader of the operation. She then admits that there was no damage to the apartment outside of standard wear and tear. She stated that because they had previously cleaned the carpets for us that we had to pay for them to be professionally cleaned for the next tenant. This is illegal according to California civil code 1950.5. They can only bill for any excessive damage past normal wear and tear. But they were smart to include in the lease that we need to professionally cleaned But thankful for California Civil code 1953 that voids any provision in a rental lease that modifies or waives those fundamental rights of the tenant. Zibby told us she would get back to us. Then we get the letter that they sent us the lowered security deposit back after we disputed it multiple times. They don't have the courtesy to respond. They never stick to their words. If you're still reading this I hope you never work with this company. They are full of unethical lying scammers.
