There is a young lady by the name of Jevaney that was working the drive thru today when a friend and I visited this 7th or 8th and Topeka blvd location. If you put someone like Jevaney , a sophisticated, polite, PROFESSIONAL individual in a position to deal with customers you are always going to have great returns. Very nice staff. With that said, I can't remember the last time I've had such a awful fast food breakfast. Tasted as though I've been made last week and there was some stuff that I really really really really hope was butter on my breakfast sandwich. The coffee was really good. Wendy's has to be one of my favorite restaurants and has one of my favorite meals to get out of any fast food restaurant. For $10 you can get chicken nuggets, fries, and a drink. A pretty simple meal yet better than all of their competitors. The taste of the chicken nuggets actually tastes like chicken, unlike the one at McDonald's, which feels rubbery and fake. The fries also taste good with them tasting somewhat like something you would get at a steakhouse. Also, the drink selection is wonderful, having one of those fancy drink machines that gives you multiple favors of one drink. I would recommend this to anyone who's on the road and doesn't have time for a fancier restaurant but doesn't want the gross feeling after eating fast food because it's the perfect in-between. I would give this restaurant a 4/5 for its incredible variety and good-tasting food. read more

My last two visits were not good. The first was bad, but since I had been there with good visits I decided to try again. Don't bother - go somewhere else as the food is cold, the portions are small, and the staff could have been more attentive and pleasant. I went though the drive thru at the Wendy's downtown. I ordered the grilled chicken meal and paid with a $100.00 bill and correct change. I was on speaker phone and distracted and drove away without my $90.00 change. Two days later I realized I did not have the change and called the manage Nathan. He immediately knew who I was and let me know he had my $90 in the office for me to pickup. I am SO impressed with their integrity and helpfulness. I stopped at Wendy's downtown on Tuesday evening just before 8pm for a quick, take home dinner. Single cheese, no onions, small fries and a coke....easy, peasy...right? After an extensive wait at the speaker then at the window, they handed me my food and I drove home, about 5 minutes. I noticed in the car that the smell was "old and greasy." I took one bite of the fries and turned up my nose....on the fry box it says "hot and crispy-guaranteed." Based on my fries, that motto should be "limp and greasy." For the first time ever, I had to pitch my dinner, including about half the sandwich, from the smell, the taste and the texture. No reason to go back to this place any more, for any reason. read more

I go to this location when I eat at Wendys as its close to home. Normally it is pretty decent, they are pretty good about giving you extra sauces and if your order is not correct they replace it with no hassle! I like how they offer a variety of fried chicken products beyond what McDonalds does. The only thing is I do not like how their new fangled ketchup tastes out of the larger packages. And they only stay open till 11pm, which is too bad. read more

I do not know why but this is hands down the best Wendy's (and probably fast food restaurant) in all of Topeka. The food is straight fire.

Went in there for lunch and ordered two of the new grilled chicken sandwich combos for $5.00 each. The total cam to $13.41. I told her we wanted the $5.00 specials and she said yes but you ordered 2. I asked her if she knew what 5 + 5 was. Trying hard to figure how you order two items totaling $10 before tax and get $3.41 in tax. She just stood there looking at me like nothing was unusual. I know Topeka has a high tax rate but really?????! Needless to say we left drove to the Wendy's in north Topeka and Our total was $10.92. No questions no issues no concerns. My husband and I got the task of getting dinner for 6 of us while we waited at the hospital. After trying to order pizza from two separate places with horrible customer service we decided on this Wendy's. We warned them before ordering that they wouldn't be very happy with us, but after hearing why we were ordering so much they were the absolute nicest people. My daughter and I pulled into this particular Wendy's at approx 7:50pm. There were 4 - 5 cars in the drive through line and 2 women (together) inside. Nobody else was there ordering. We waited over 35 minutes to get the small order and then it wasn't even right. They first left off a double cheeseburger, then replaced it and forgot the chicken sandwich. The drinks ice completely melted because of the time it took to finish the order. I counted 13 cars total that went through the drive through while we still sat waiting inside for our order. The 2 women were as irate as we were with not understanding what was taking so long. There was a manger there and she (along with the cashier) had zero clue as to how serve or help the customers. I would never ever go to this Wendy's again. The food was cold (fries) ice melted, order was wrong and took over 35 minutes to even process. The manager and cashier seemed to be illiterate. When asked where the double cheeseburger was, cashier said "What dble cheeseburger with the order sitting right in front of her". Wendy's needs to take a long hard look at this store. It was absolutely ridiculous to wait that length of time while over 13 cars go through the drive through. They acted like they had just walked onto the job. The ladies before us wanted the 800 number to call and complain too. So today, if you cld give them a negative number I certainly be giving that because they don't deserve even the one star.
