Maplewood Burgers is amazing a local place I discovered in Sulphur, and I'm really glad I did. This…read moreis the original location on Maplewood Drive that gave it its name. This location seems like a cross between a restaurant and a convenience store, but don't let its humble appearance fool you. There's some great burgers to be had here! I guess we should start with the headliners, which are the stuffed burgers! These hearty creations have a variety of fillings stuffed into the center of the hamburger meat itself, making them a huge moist juicy and delicious handful! The variety of fillings includes mushrooms and Swiss; boudin; BBQ brisket; and even macaroni and cheese. These are a great choice, but one can also get a plain old fashioned hamburger or cheeseburger with toppings outside of the patty if one wishes. There are a choice of breads for these, so if you want it on Texas Toast or a Jalapeno Bun, it's all good! Then you need a side. There are of course fries and onion rings, but also tater tots and sweet potato fries. If you have any room left they have a pretty nice selection of ice cream and frozen treats. This location is just north of I-10, so it's convenient to stop into for a quick lunch. If one is so inclined, you could get an order to go, and enjoy a picnic at the nearby Maplewood Park.

Food was ready quickly after ordering. First bite of the egg burger was great. Went in for the second bite and got a surprise of a long blonde hair to go along with it. I immediately pulled it out of my mouth. I'm not the type to really complain to anyone there and just kept eating as I was hungry and on lunch. After a few more bites I was greeted with another long blonde hair. Well time to leave that good ol Yelp review. Be wary of long blonde hairs in your food everyone. Also don't order the egg/fur burger. I won't be back.

First time at this new restaurant. It used to be the best ice cream place!…read more The remodeling was done beautifully. When I walked in it smelled of home cooked meals and fresh ice-cream! This place did not disappoint and the menu items were all cajun dishes and smash burgers. The shrimp was exactly how my grandparents would make it, floury and crispy! I haven't had such a wonderful shrimp in a very very long time!! The crawfish etouffee coupled have used lots more flavor and seasoning. But that catfish was fried to perfection and you could tell they used the Louisiana style batter! This place was a order ahead type of service, kind of like dairy barn. I will definitely be visiting again.

It's a pretty simple place, you place your order at the counter and they bring it to the table, the fountain drinks are self-serve. There were a few customers already seated but our food arrived within a reasonable time and was still hot - we all order burgers and crinkle fries, I choose the Mad Dog Burger, easily a 1/2 pound of fresh beef, jalapeño mayo, fresh cut jalapeños and pepper-jack cheese with pickles, onions, tomatoes and shredded lettuce on a toasted bun - this was definitely a delicious hand crafted burger and we all three ate all of the burgers and crispy fries. The staff here is extremely friendly and went above and beyond to ensure everything was as we ordered it and that we were all happy with our lunch. This a burger I'd definitely order again and a place I would frequent if I lived in the area the prices are extremely reasonable especially compared to fast food. And this is not the first time this has happened. I waited months before going back and it did no good. I have never had this problem at the restaurant in Orange, Texas and I have been there many more times than the one here in Sulphur. I love the food, but the service at the Sulphur location is awful. It's the employees that are awful and not the food. I will definitely be returning to the one in Orange (exit 873) but it will be a very long time before I even think of returning to this one.
