I hate to complain, especially when there are so many without food, but at the same time, there are so many Americans working hard just to make it and working hard for their money. Today I was stuck in traffic near the Wendy's in Rio Rico, and was low on gas. I had to stop for gas and the Wendy's was in the same gas station and I was also very hungry. I had not eaten at a Wendy's in years so I decided I would pick my dinner up there. Big mistake, nothing more than disappointment. I ordered the spicy chicken sandwich combo meal. To make sure that my order was right I took the sandwich out of the bag while at the drive-through. It was not hot to the touch, but instead lukewarm and very flat. I asked the lady in the drive-through. If this was the chicken sandwich? And she said yes. I proceeded to open it and it was a flat unheated piece of chicken with one thin slice of lettuce and one slice of tomato. It also looked and tasted as if it had sat under a heating lamp for far too long. It was dry and even hard in some areas. You'd have thought I ordered this off the dollar menu!! I should have just given it back and requested my money back instead but I just drove off. Never again! The meal cost me $12 and change for nothing more than stale cardboard. Unbelievable. The ice coffee they make is so bad like really really bad. Ive had the same order of ice coffee every morning for the past months. One days it's okay, others it's horrible and dark and other days it tastes like straight up creamer. Horrible stuff and I get it everyday because it comes with my breakfast my bf gets me. So from now on I'm going to ask him for soda for breakfast. No more coffee from Wendy's I rather die. First off when we went in drive thru it took us about 7 minutes to get our food. When we had gotten our food the fries were soggy and cold , we had multiple drinks and food item missing, and the burgers were cold. Let's start with I've been here twice and twice I had bad experiences ( I believe in second chances) that being said I won't come back after this. The first time I came I ordered my food and they took forever to bring it out I asked why people after me had gotten their food yet I was waiting for mine still. They said "oh yeah we dont Have the bread for that burger is that ok we can give you a different one" I said sure that's ok wish you had said something before... right away I get a bag with my food that had been sitting there the type of bread they gave me had already got soggy so I just threw it away because it's clear as sun of day that they lack customer service and don't believe in customer satisfaction!. Second time yesterday... there's a guy who took my husbands order two separate burgers... the guy puts them on the counter my husband asked which one is which ? Skater young guy says oh I don't have any idea !!?? Like what!? So that also says aside of lack of motivation to learn how to do his job properly he also should be trained better by the company who appears to not care about that themselves!. Right after that since the gas station itself didn't have cold coffee I went back to get a cold brew that appears in their menu under beverages.... Now a lady is there I say hello may I please have a large cold brew coffee? ... she looks at me and says no entiendo meaning she didn't understand in Spanish I asked for coffee frio and she says no se meaning I don't know she then goes and asked people working in the back if they sale cold coffee they all said yes it's right in the front also in Spanish I suppose my Spanish was bad enough for her to think I didn't know Spanish or understood it ... because she never came back to the register... she started to bad orders for the drive thru.... So I'm standing there the manager passes by looks keeps doing his thing still waiting and the same little knuckle head skater looking dude from earlier comes and says what do you want ? I was like strawberry? Strawberry what? Coffee? He looks at me and says milkshake. I laughed and said I asked for cold brew coffee not a milkshake and walked away! Probably one of the worst Wendy's locations. Only two people seem to be working, the cook that was making hamburgers and the girl that was doing the window for drive-through. I waited 20 minutes to get a small hamburger and fries. People came in from the drive-through line to get the items they haven't received and five minutes after I got my order six more people came in and two of them received their order before me. That's when I decided to ask about my order, if I wouldn't I would probably wait for another hour or so. Turned out that they did not even see my name in the system. Wendy's is one of my favorite old school hamburger restaurants. My favorite menu items are the frosty and chili. I don't know what it is with this location but I always have issues. Maybe it is the young age of the employees, maybe it is lack of managerial experience, maybe they don't care because of their relative close location to the border and within the truck stop they will always have business. From outside the window looking in I see a lot of fooling around going on. Most of what happens are forgotten items from spoons, to food, and drinks. Last night my cup of chili just sat on the counter for a while until someone decided to hand it out. Honestly maybe there was a staff meeting @ 10:15pm that was of major importance. Food as expected COVID-19 protocols in place. Unfortunately they are out of a lot of things on the menu. Not sure how this happens but they are a busy truck stop area and the vehicle lines are usually at least 3 cars deep when I drive through. I imagine it's hard to keep stocked up. read more

The Wendy's in Rio Rico/Nogales AZ area has a captive audience. It's really not a neighborhood fast food but a truck stop/gas station eatery. So when you drive there & place your order & then get home 12 minutes later the food is cold & half of the order is wrong. This has happened to me a few times. You call & no one answers the phone. There really is no recourse you end up biting the bullet. The other fast food McDonalds is twice as far from my home. I like Burger King but they are 45 minutes away. Will this Wendy's change I doubt it. They really need to train their employee's to repeat the order to the customer when they order in the drive in & when they pick it up at the window. Stopped here on my way home to grab a quick bite and was so annoyed & disappointed! I ordered a Daves single with cheese & a small frosty. My total came up to around $9 and some change but the cashier accidently totalled out my order somehow and didn't know how to properly count change back. So after a quick math session with the young lady, she gave me my change and I pulled away. Upon leaving I discover that I've been given and charged for entire combo meal that I didn't want nor did I specify anywhere in my order that I wanted a combo meal. I was too frustrated to go back so I decided to go ahead and eat what was given to me. The burger and fries were both cold! I threw the entire meal in the garbage. Waste of money. Double thumbs down! The lobby is closed to the public at this time because of the virus issues and with less customer base flowing through you would think the food would be on point but no such luck. Man this place is so bad its actually kinda entertaining. We stopped by on our ride for a quick bite, and boy oh boy was it a mistake. To start off there was only one other family at this place and we had to look for a table that was not sticky and dirty. We put our gear down and walked up to the counter only to be ignored for about 10 min. There was no, " we will be right with you" or anything. After the girl at the counter finally showed up, the other guy who was there was just hanging out. After we finally got our order done, it took another 15 min to get the food. I really don't understand how this is even possible. It was us and one other table. After talking to some friends that live in the area they all said they refuse to go here. Wendy's. What can I say? My daughter adores the frostys and I can't get enough of those baconators! Salads are fresh and crisp as well if you're looking for a healthier option. Very fast service, ESPECIALLY through the drive thru. Courteous customer service with a smile. So glad this is right around work for me! read more
