It just looked like your typical deep fried chicken sandwich except it tasted like the fish sandwich because they probably use the same oil to fry it in. The chicken was a little rubbery. I dont know if thats from undercooking or buying it from walmart but it was less than enjoyable. Anyone who wants a good Nashville Hot should be eating or taking lessons from Christos in Sarnia. She was friendly, pleasant, and chatty. She definitely enhanced our visit! And the food was totally awesome! It was our first time having poutine and I'm not sure it was standard (it had shredded cheese instead of cheese curds) but it was delicious! Like really really really good. The burger was juicy and thick. The fries were totally yummy. Kid #1 said the chicken parm sandwich was good, and I thoroughly enjoyed my Philly cheesesteak. The prices were totally reasonable, too! Definitely a bargain considering the decent price for excellent food! For sure we'd visit Cool Hand Luke's again!

At first glance, it looks like a basic ice cream shop that also happens to have a kiosk where you can order burgers, hot dogs, and fries. We figured it would be a quick, decent lunch before heading back to the falls. Instead, we got the tastiest surprise. These burgers came out hot, fresh, and perfectly smashed with those crispy, caramelized edges that make smash burgers so addictive. Then came the real MVP: the spicy Flip Sauce. I would happily put that stuff on just about anything. The rest of the family stuck with the regular Flip Sauce and promptly started dunking their fries in it like it was liquid gold. Speaking of fries, one order was plenty for our family to share--which left more room for ice cream. Because yes... they have ice cream too. Naturally, we had to "sample" it for quality control, and it was the perfect ending to lunch. My only tiny complaint? Bottled sodas instead of fountain drinks. That's it. That's the list. (A particularly fond memory is sitting in the car with my brother after we had ordered through the car hop service at the former Granville House, listening to Dr. Bundolo's Pandemonium Medicine Show on CBC, and seeing the tray swaying up and down because we were laughing so hard the car was shaking.) That is, until I moved to Ontario, because White Spot is a B.C.-only kind of place. Since then, they have spun out Triple O's. You can find them in Alberta, Ontario, and even Hong Kong. Triple O's is a kind of mini-White Spot, but it's actually sort of the "best of" from the White Spot I remember: burgers, fish and chips, and shakes (minus the "Chicken Pick'ns", which, sadly, have also disappeared from White Spot's menu). White Spot still offers those dishes, plus a bunch of more upscale fare, and dining at White Spot is no longer affordable. Now, it's the kind of place you go for special occasions (unless money is no object). And, sadly, Triple O's is also at the top end of pricing for fast food joints. But still, for this homesick B.C. boy, chowing down on a Legendary burger took me back. It's still as good as I remember. But, to be fair to those who didn't grow up with White Spot, it may just come across as good, but overpriced.
