Lovely place I was here twice and the tattooed lady at the front had excellent customer service. The food was hot and ready!

Parker's Grille - Newark - Wonderful burger

Great spot in the village. We went there with a friend and family member when visiting the area…read more The regular menu is typical bar food plus a couple of items, like Pesto Pasta. They also have a couple of specials, like the glazed pork chop, which is absolutely wonderful. Round that out with an extensive beer on tap list and you have a winner. I had a Genessee Mango Peach Kolsch, which was a great beer. After years of making fun of Genessee-branded beers I had to eat my words. Highly recommend trying it. The place itself is rustic and relatively quiet, even though they were quite busy. The service was great and friendly, the close-caption TVs were tuned to the Padres game - 2,500 miles from San Diego and we still got to watch our hometown team. The kitchen was a little slow turning out dishes, so when my wife's Pesto Pasta turned out to be something else, she didn't even say anything. It was a pasta dish, just not Pesto and she said it was very good, just not what she ordered, which cost Parker's the one star.

Parker's was suggested by the hotel as a quick walk and good food and it's one of two or three places to have a meal close by. The place is large and bright and there are plenty of TV's if your here on a game day-night. A great team welcomed us as we entered, sat us and quickly came by for a drink order and questions. It was a simple order from us. Helene had the onion soup (well done cheese) and the Grilled Chicken Salad, I had the a Burger Platter. Everything came out quickly and well cooked. Tasty chicken and a well-cooked burger with fries. The team here was wonderful and anyone walking by either filled our glasses or took away plates. I love to see the teamwork in these places. This will be the new regular stop when we're in the area. KUDO's to the team here at Parkers.

She said she was busy with another drink order and would come back. Rude. By the time she returned my husband was ready for another while I say partched , sitting in the muggy eating area. Pizza shop in the front restaurant in the back. They had ceiling fans but they where mot on! My drink was sweating and warmed very fast in the humid air! While we waiting a bug flew in NY drink. My husband called them canal bugs! My husband ordered a steak. But that was not longer on the menu. They change the type of meat. Still at market value. Came with some over cooked blacken Brussels and fries. Apparently the truffle and balsamic was left out as well. Steak comes in truffle butter. Sprouts used to come with pancetta, and fries were to have truffle butter! All non exsitent. We asked for the glaze for the spouts. Her response was that it came with it. My husband pointed out it was non exsitent. She looks at the plate and takes it saying she will see if they will fix it! Really. Just bring it on the side. She came back as quickly as she left. She was what we call flighty! She did not give us a chance to order another drink or to ask questions. I ordered the empanadas. They where 2 large ones when I last went. Best around. Not anymore! 2 small over cooked shells with a side of sour cream that was it! I requested salsa that I thought was on the menu to come with it. Response was oh we do not have that. I asked for hot sauce she brings this big bottle of some brownish red watery stuff in tobacco bottle. It was not put not the same. Then I noticed it was our dated. Inside the shell was 95% potatoes. Whereres the beef!? When she came to clear the plates she never asked how anything was. Asked if my husband wanted a box for this meat. My husband told her the Brussels were over cooked. Chewy and burnt. She just went in to say how she tells them but they keep doing it. My thoughts. Ok but you brought it to the table! With out the glaze or truffle butter! Never offered to rectify the issue. So very said and mad. Should of went to Victor as that was the plan. If you look how good was from past reviews to what they serve now. You will see a bug difference. Be wary of the menu and the details. Last note. After we ordered or food I could of swarn she was reading a list of speacials to another table. Unless... No I heard someone rattling off specials. Guess it was on a need to know bases because we were not told of any speacials!

I went with the $10 special which was two big slices, a cookie, and a soda. Pretty good deal! Their menu also features sandwiches and salads. The pizza was good, definitely generous portions. They had parm, red pepper, garlic powder, etc. available. The cookie was a standard chocolate chip (they also had peanut butter available) and was pretty decent. Service was very friendly and fast. Overall, a great spot for lunch if you're pressed for time and want a good lunch for a reasonable price.

After a while the boys were hungrier than I thought so I ordered another slice from the table, & would you believe they refused to bring it to the table until I paid! It was only me, grandpa, and the two boys, they saw I had my hands full, but still had the audacity to make me get up, leave the boys at the table, and pay for the slice before serving it! Meanwhile the slice was in the oven warming up, and was overcooked when they finally took it out after I paid! Really?! The manager said "it's policy" that it must be paid for before it's served. Okay, but you can't make an exception seeing the situation? Were you that worried Grandpa, with his 2 grandsons in tow, was going to skip out paying for a slice? Ridiculous, and the pizza wasn't very good either
