Maria's burger with the grilled onions and jalapeños is outrageously yummy. Just enough heat to compliment the tasty cheeseburger with all it's toppings. Having been warned by previous reviews that the steaks tend to be undercooked, I ordered my ribeye medium, and sure enough it came - very quickly too - closer to what I would call medium rare, which is what I really wanted. It was then I remembered glancing at a huge Beef Processing Plant just on the edge of town...think it was called National Beef... And then it hit me: Cattleman's Cafe + Beef Processing Plant...maybe...just maybe..they served steak here That's how I found myself sitting inside this Midwestern country diner. The description on the menu-- Uncle Ed's Steak sounded legitimate. So I had me a rib eye, with a side of corn and Brocolli. Then to start off, some Bloomin Onions. Rating: Ok, I'm going to be real honest, the quality of the beef is *Good* Its on the level of USDA Choice Select, but it IS fresh. Like I can enjoy the natural flavors of the Beef, it's not drenched in marinade and just the overall taste spelled decent quality. Now, because back in the days, I would go out to Costco and pick up USDA Prime Ribeyes three or 4 cuts at under 45.00 (those were the good times). But it wouldn't be fair to compare this to that so for a standard family run affair, this place serves pretty solid steak. Though however the chef kinda went on the rarer side for my Medium Rare and if the cuts have so much fat marbling in them, it probably would be better for the steak to be grilled longer on the fat tissues. The corn sides were a little to sweet and wished they either cut down on the sugar, or use some heavy whipping cream or half and half to balance that sweetness out-- like real creme corn. The Bloomin Onions were a surprise. Over the past decades, I'd probably only order this appetizer at say Outback Steakhouse, but this dish does take the prize for a worthy starter here at the Cattleman's. Overall, server was very locked in. True country hospitality, think her name is Naziah. Kudos! Great service! And anyone ever driving through town, give this place a go.

Not so good, fairly disappointing…read more Applebee's can be hit and miss, but this location really seems to strike out. Although my last experience here wasn't completely horrible, it was well below expectation. Service was attentive, but the server seemed rushed and annoyed most of the time. My friend didn't get a straw and our server was frustrated at her request for one. She was told to look in her silverware bundle, but guess what, there was NO straw in there! It wasn't particularly busy either, so that attitude didn't make a lot of sense. After we turned down extra drinks for a second time, our waitress seemed even more frustrated and was ready for us to leave. Speaking of drinks, the patron margarita is lacking here, so I opted to try a "mucho size" summer squeeze this time. The drink was refreshing, but way too watered down. Half of the glass was ice too, so it ended up working like an average sized drink at best. No wonder why I didn't order a second one, I wasn't going to waste the money. The food was okay, but options were limited. They didn't even have guacamole, which seemed ridiculous.
