Burnt dry old potato

I should've ordered pizza. This is a potato from Wendy's on Pleasant Run in Desoto. I had to throw this crap in the trash. I saw several customers bring their food back, I should've known then.

I'm not a big fan of fast food fried chicken. It's not likely that I would have made it to…read moreBojangles if not for Vivian Howard. Vivian Howard of North Carolina, Chef, Restaurateur and teacher to hopeful home cooks with her current show on PBS, "Kitchen Curious" cites Bojangles as the source of her inspiration for dirty rice, wanting to recreate that specific flavor profile at home. Yes, Bojangles. She even went through their drive thru on the show where she makes her own version of dirty rice. So I finally went to the Bojangles near me in Lancaster one evening. We stopped in and marveled at the many biscuit combinations on the menu. I will say that reading through the reviews on our way there was weird though. There are apparently "legacy" Bojangles out East that serve bone in Chicken and more selections of sides or "fix ins." This caused consternation after this Lancaster franchise opened and they didn't have bone in chicken. It seemed to affect customer perception of the current trimmed down menu of biscuit and tenders, salads and sandwiches only menu early on. The menu reminds me of Chick- fil-A, just different. As for today, I came for the Dirty Rice. But we did order two Chicken sandwiches plus pickles, a family size dirty rice and a family size coleslaw, to go. Bojangles does not have jalapeños FYI. The menu neglected to show a sandwich only price. So I asked. I was told $6.92 including tax. The family size fix ins were $4.99. Combos with sandwich, beverage, and side choice are approximately $9.50. Sandwiches come with lettuce and tomatoes according to the menu. The restaurant was clean with booths and tables. Service was friendly. When we got home though, I must have been misunderstood or I misunderstood what went on the sandwiches. We had ended up with only pickles instead of added pickles. I don't usually post photos of food with utensils or half full containers with food already removed but today, I am doing that. I sliced up some tomatoes, washed lettuce, got out the jalapeños and more pickles and mayo and we fixed up our sandwiches. I would like to think that everything would have been sorted out at the restaurant if we had dined in, but only 2 pickles? Seriously? The chicken itself was cooked perfectly. The exterior was still mostly crispy and was well seasoned. It certainly needed the veggies. And I have to have my jalapeños! The bun was brioche however and perfectly toasted. Now the dirty rice. I could taste the chicken bouillon in the well seasoned rice and the big chunks of sausage were appreciated. It was good. So was the coleslaw. Nice and cold, crunchy and a perfect foil to my jalapeños on my sandwich. So we spent spent $24.42 on two people for no drinks, two large sides and two sandwiches. Honestly, it was good, but it is not something that I would eat frequently. As I said, we don't usually eat fried chicken out. They are open 24 hours! With a well lit drive thru and easy online ordering. Go and check them out!

We ended up eating inside and the service was pretty good. The food was hot and fresh and tasted…read moreokay. It was my first time having it and would for sure eat it again. It kind of reminds me of raising canes, chicken express etc. Celsius is now also served there! Follow me at Jonsfitpro to see more content

Unnecessarily long lines and angry impatient people, due to another overly hyped menu item due to…read moresocial media lol.. I think putting "limited time" makes people go crazy , they get to acting as if it's the end of the world or that they're going to die if they don't get their hands on the limited time items, and i absolutely hate that for society. I'm learning that it's easier and less chaotic waiting a couple of weeks to try newly released items even if that means I don't get to try them. My last trip was to try the viral Popeyes pickled options . I ordered The fried pickles , the deep fried pickle chicken sandwich and the pickled lemonade. I absolutely love pickles and most pickled flavor foods and knew that this would be either amazing or not so much lol. The wait time was decent, the service was friendly and the food was definitely made when we ordered ( hot and fresh ). For me these items that I chose to try weren't my favorite, with the fried pickles being my least favorite. They were missing something or something's . Although they were fresh and hot , they were somewhat mushy, the breading didn't stick well to the pickles. Im thinking it may have been the kind of pickles that were used . The pickle flavored fried chicken sandwich had potential and wasn't bad at all, it was dripping a lot of oil/ juice. The pickle flavored lemonade was ok but something I more than likely wouldn't order again . Overall the experience was unique and I'm glad I had the opportunity to try the limited time items . Should this be an item added to the regular menu, for me it's a No . I've come to this particular location a few times and don't recall ever having an interaction that's made me not want to return. I like that this location sits in a parking lot alone off a Main Street , so I usually don't have any issues getting in and out of the parking lot of really long lines. The times I've come which is in the afternoons after work ( between 3pm- 7pm), and majority of the cars are in line versus parked, so it's probably safe to assume that they don't get as much dine in as they do Togo service, or at least not during that dinner rush . I really look forward to trying more of their limited time options as I'm pretty familiar with their regular tasty items . The 3 piece dark spicy with a side of mashed potatoes EXTRA gravy or those Cajun fries will always have a special place in my heart.
