You can absolutely tell that so much here is scratch-made and prepared by people who care about what they're serving. We tried the jalapeño poppers, house salads, homemade mac & cheese, fish sandwich, and the homemade provolone sticks--and everything was delicious! One of my favorite things about O'Donnell's was the atmosphere. There were lots of regulars, everyone was friendly, and you could just feel that this is the kind of neighborhood pub where people come back again and again because they're treated well. It was the best of both worlds. If I had one complaint, I'd say the sauerkraut was a bit too sweet for my liking. But it was still good. For the main course, we shared a fish sandwich. I just really like the people who work here. Lots of people really rag on fast food workers, and not to delve into McDonald's business practices, but I truly believe that these people do not get paid enough for the crap they have to deal with. They really are very nice, and I'm sure appreciate the kindness and politeness that customers should show. Other than sometimes forgetting sauces, my order hasn't been blatantly wrong in years and I remember why it was wrong, it was during a busy time. Also, a lot of the workers are kids that go to my local high school working their first ever job. So I generally don't hold anything against anyone if a mistake is made. That's just life! You can take the order back in if something's wrong. Overall, the best rule of thumb to remember is that if you want a gourmet type meal, you can't rely on a fast food chain to help you out that much. My rating is a neutral 3 stars but 2 3/4 of them are for the staff who have always been very kind to me.

When we arrived (party of three), my husband and I ordered a small pizza and 12 wings, and our friend ordered a pot roast sandwich with wings. It took about 15 minutes just for someone to take our drink order. Our waitress explained there was a delay due to staff singing happy birthday, which we understood. After placing our food order, we waited another 20 minutes. Eventually, the kitchen brought out both orders of wings and the pot roast sandwich--but no pizza. When our waitress checked on us, we mentioned the missing pizza, and she explained it comes from a separate line and would be out later. That was fine, but no effort was made to check on it or follow up. We nearly finished all of our food, and still no pizza. Our waitress then returned with boxes and the check, asking if we needed anything else. At that point, I again mentioned the missing pizza. She rolled her eyes and repeated that it comes from a different line. By then, we were already done eating and no longer wanted it. What followed was extremely unprofessional. After we declined the pizza, she stormed off, removed it from the bill, then came back holding the pizza, dropped the check on the table, and said, "Well here it is--you don't want it?!" She then offered the pizza to a nearby table in an irritated tone. When I said I would be mentioning this in my review, she responded, "I don't know why you're so mad, I did nothing wrong." When I tried to calmly explain the situation from a customer perspective, she interrupted, put her hand up toward me, and said, "Whatever, I don't care, you're nasty." She then continued speaking negatively about us to coworkers within earshot. This was one of the most unprofessional dining experiences I've ever had. There was no apology at any point, no accountability, and no basic courtesy such as thanking us or acknowledging us when we left. The food was okay, but the service completely overshadowed the experience.
