The restaurant is not the cleanest but the employees were friendly and helpful with the delivery of my order. There is one of each of these on opposite corners just outside Charlotte Douglas Airport ... on Boyer Street. They couldn't be more different. On Tuesday, June 4 the CLT airport was under big stress ... rain and electric storms caused a ground stop for outbound, stranding inbound to sitting on the tarmac on the outskirts. Long story short, everything was delayed 2 1/2 hours. Some drivers waiting for arrivals took advantage of the delay to go get some fast food. We drove over to the Boyer Street McDonalds but saw they had a long line at drive-thru, so we went across the street to Wendy's ... big mistake. We sat for minutes in the drive-thru at Wendys without moving, so we went inside ... big mistake. Three or four peeps were working that night, but you'd swear no one knew what they were doing. We stood behind an ill-informed patron talking to an ill-informed employee as they talked over each other. Eventually we left and went back across the street to the McDonalds. Now back at McDonalds some of the drive-thru had worn off and the wait wasn't too bad. But cheers to all the service people we talked to ... they were friendly, and knowledgeable. At payout we had the sweetest little lady take care of us ... she made the trip worthwhile. Food was the good usual McDonalds, nothing fancy just good fast food ... hot and fresh. Four stars for McDonalds and one star for Wendys. Next time we'll just go straight to McDonalds. read more

No big deal I gave it right back to her to resolve, but to return it with BURNT PIECES OFF THE GRILL is just disrespectful! Took 25 minutes to place and order and then another 10 to actually get it only to have cold hard fries and a freshly melted drink. I wasn't willing to get back in line to dispute my order since the business doors were locked because it was after 10pm. Get up to the window only to smell weed once the glass opens (no lie) and for some reason everyone working is more concerned with who's at the window instead of actually oh I don't know preparing fresh food. Too much unprofessionalism at the windows where customers are....you have cameras I suggest you watch them, you have the most 1 star ratings I've ever seen for any restaurant....I'd look into fixing your issues or closing this location. Cashier taking order (Michael), was on his cell phone taking orders and had a line of customers waiting for their food. While they all patiently waited (6 different parties), he would call out the wrong orders to give customer and have to take it back (twice). One guy actually said to them; "You all need to get it together back there." It took entirely too long to receive our meals (20 minutes), and then my friends had not even had their orders placed when I received my COLD food. This place drives me crazy. They are so inconsistent with service that I don't know what to give them. I only use the drive through after work but One day it's "go ahead" another it's "welcome to Wendy's how can I help you" one day the fries are cold and unsalted, another day they are hot and perfectly salted. Best Wendy's in the area. They handle long lunch lines well, service is fast & friendly, and the food is made to order. Often, when the line gets long around noon or 1pm, they have someone take orders on paper to speed up the process at the pay window. Very efficient. I eat here often enough they know how like the same one or two things and I always get greeted with a smile. The dinning room is generally clean, with consistently clean tables. The location is pretty convenient to I85. The only weird thing is the parking lot- often if there is a line at the drive up window, drivers will attempt to go the wrong way through the one-way lot. read more
