The smashburger consists of two smash hamburger patties topped with American cheese with cheese sauce between the patties. I added pickles on my sandwich. The burger was cooked well, in the typical smashburger style, and was very cheesy and delicious. The fries were good. The order came in a plastic container. Not quite eco-friendly but it kept the food warm and fresh. I highly recommend this establishment. My order was filled quickly and my DoorDasher delivered the order quickly. I like having different dining options and this is one place I do intend on visiting again.

Now, they are basically based at The Famous restaurant which too has gone down hill in quality of food. I had made an order last night after long day of work (work a hour away), and the order was wrong and high priced for the portions. The fish was not a good portion like it was previous and did not even give me tartar sauce with fish. I was not aware of change of location to Famous Restaurant until I made the order and had to drive out of my way after long day at work. Management had refunded me money which was appreciated, but I would say that maybe they should just add this menu to The Famous Menu or to the Doubleday locations and close the doors and concept of this restaurant.

I don't usually like burgers, but decided to get the whiskey burger, it was really good. The menu says they will cook the burger in a range from medium to well. I asked for mine, "as red as I can get it." It was perfect. My husband ordered the fricso melt, that sauce is amazing! The crinkle cut fries were nice and crispy and delicious. My daughter ordered a turkey club, which came with homemade chips. I will definitely sub fries for chips next time. We also ordered a breakfast burrito to share just to try it out. It was really tasty. The salsa was on the sweet side, but still very good. Their house made ranch and chipotle ranch was so good. We don't usually order dessert, but for some reason decided to get some today. The fried cheesecake was tasty, but the brownie sundae was so, so good. The brownie was steaming hot and served with a very good vanilla ice cream.

But the decor is very charming and the tremendous bar is a beautiful reproduction of something out of a grand London ballroom. I primarily came for the Scotch Egg which was nicely done and well presented, though I think I would have liked it better if the egg was not quite as hard cooked. It's a great appetizer for two at a reasonable price. My husband had the Mum's Pot Roast and absolutely loved it, meat so tender and shreddable, rich gravy, perfect vegetables. I chose the wee Fish and Chips which was plenty to eat. The haddock was firm and flaky, the batter delicious, the chips (or fries to you Yanks) were golden and lightly crispy. The coleslaw very cool creamy and tasty and balanced the dish perfectly. I asked for some curry on the side to dip the chips and glad I did. We both really enjoyed our meals. I had a Smithwick's ale. They've got a pretty extensive beer selection. Service was a little on the slow side but we could see it was due to limited number of waitstaff. We were there around 3 PM. A girl is washing glasses and looks at us multiple times but says nothing. Then she finishes and just walks away without saying a word. If it was my event, I'd have told everyone to pack it up, because I don't put up with that kind of inexcusable behavior. We walked over to the bar in the main room and they didn't know where she went but said to give them our order. The pineapple whatever was terrible, as was the grape seltzer. Most of our group didn't care for any of their offerings. The food was nothing special and seemed kind of pricey for what you got. We got a pizza and there was an odd funky smell on some of the pepperoni. Everything in this place is self serve, which is odd, and pretty much guarantees little to no tipping, so they just add it onto your bar bill automatically, so watch out for that. I've been in a lot of brewery restaurants and the brewery portion is always immaculate. Theirs looks like your grandpa's basement, with junk all over shelves, stuff just laying around, and just generally dirty and cluttered. They open at 4:00 pm on weekends and there were people there for some sort of reception but there were open tables too, so it seemed kind of misleading and confusing to me. It seemed like a waste of space for the few people we saw there. My girlfriend ordered the vegan pizza which comes with cashews and mushrooms and you can add vegan cheese which she did instead of real cheese. So it is a genuine vegan pizza. I ordered their 8 ounce forged burger described as "100% Ohio beef patty, Gloucestershire cheese, arugula, heirloom tomato, black garlic aioli, potato roll, side salad." Both meals were very good. They also have a variety of unique and tasty cocktails. The bartenders were very nice and friendly, service was awesome, and there is a nice modern vibe. The only problem I had was I booked a stay at the hotel and it was with the "Foundry Package"which comes with a $50 food credit at the Foundry. The bartenders weren't aware of this package and I had to talk to reception to get this resolved.
