Doors were locked at 3pm. Saw four employees behind counter. Said "drive through only". When we went through the drive through 2 employees were outside smoking. When we got to the window the smell of weed coming from the inside would knock you down. Not the first time the doors here have been locked during business hours. Wendy's was the only place that I felt like I could get a decent fast food meal the last several times we've been and it's been awful. Today we were in a pinch and decided to give them one last try, the fries were half full, cold and had no salt the nuggets were pretty pathetic. The two girls that were serving the food were teenagers, but I have to think why would you serve this to anybody. The double stack had no flavor was completely dry and the bun was hard won't be back. Yowee! This place is bad. On our recent visit they were out of Coke products, straws and napkins!! How is this even possible? Never again.

I often stop at this Wendy's on my travels to Richmond and they are always very friendly and the service is typically quick, although at this point in history, perhaps it would benefit us all to remember that restaurants are short-staffed and the employees are working under stressful circumstances. The Summer Strawberry salad is very, very good and so are the other salads at Wendy's (for those of us giving good health a hearty go of it). Full disclosure though, I did try the new Bourbon Bacon burger and it's not bad at all. read more

It's the worst Wendy's I've ever known. They're always out of food or drinks that are a staple of their menu. Every time I've ordered the Cinnabon rolls they were stale and hard as a rock. The service is mediocre and you need to check the bag before you leave because of wrong orders or missing food. read more

The scanner for the app (to earn points) has never worked. I've asked here and there for 2 years or so and it's NEVER worked (or they're lazy and lying). It was decent food and service up until 6 months or so ago. Now it takes 30-40 minutes to get through the drive thru with only 2-3 cars in line. This wasn't a one time occurrence, it's happened 4-5 times in the last 6 months or so. I've just quit going because I don't have that long to waste. read more

Went through the drive thru with my wife and 3 kids and waited in pretty long line....patiently. Ordered 5 meals. Paid at first window to rude cashier. Got to second window and received 4 drinks and asked for the last one. Looked at receipt and told the lady we only had 4 meals on our ticket but had ordered 5 and she said well you will have to get back in line. We would've gladly paid for last meal but line was easily 12 deep and we had already sat in the line. No help at all and rude. Come through here often and will not go back read more

I've been to many Wendy's from Texas to Alaska and most states in-between, this local store is adequate at best. The food was hot but not put together well. This being Virginia the staff was friendly but no more than normal for here. It's hard to eat a burger that's just been thrown together. And the fries always seem to taste like they were fried in old oil. I had to settle for a medium drink (I paid for the large) because they had run out of large cups. I go there for convenience and for that's pretty much it. As a Wendy's I would score this one as a 1 star, they need to train their people better in food prep. They also need to change their oil more often. With the food so poorly prepared I can only imagine what the inside of the store looks like cause I use the drive-thru. read more

We stopped here in our way home to get some food. My step mom wanted a taco salad an my dad a chili cheese potato an we were informed they we're out of chili. Ok no worries will just order something else. I ordered a spicy chicken sandwich combo my step mom ordered a Junior cheeseburger and fries and my dad and sister ordered baked potatoes. Now as we get the order we ask for salt an they inform us they are out of salt. So we had no salt for the french fries and no salt for the baked potatoes. They couldn't even sell the fries that came out of the fryer because they had no salt. Then we found out later on they were also out of chocolate Frosty's. I have no idea how this happens. My chicken sandwich was about medium it look like it had been sitting out all day. The potatoes weren't the greatest either and not even being able to put salt on it didn't help. The junior cheeseburger was OK and my side Caesar salad was probably the best thing we ate. My dad's cod sandwich was just OK. I have no idea how you can run out of salt let alone chili or chocolate frostys. Don't you have a store room. N why wouldn't you tell customers that before you order baked potato or fries. Not sure if I will go back to that Wendy's. read more

I just visited the Wendy's at 7741 Richmond Hwy, Appomattox, VA 24522. I did not receive a receipt in my bag nor was I asked if I wanted one. So I'm unable to leave feedback at talktowendys.com. My fries were not all completely cooked and my bread was burnt on my burger. It was too late to go back and I couldn't finish it all. I'm disappointed but not surprised. Never been so dissatisfied. Nothing but kids working. The girl that looked to be in charge wouldn't answer the young guys working. Soda machine broke was going to give us our meal with no drinks. Had to remind her. Asked for napkins they had none. So we asked again gave us a paper towel. Very slow and not very attentive to any customers. read more

There is such a lack of product appearance/quality. The hamburgers get to you looking like they have been thrown together and then sat on. Often times you do not receive what you ordered. Bacon is missing off the sandwich or you are missing nuggets. I have not yet received a batch of the "new" fries. I always receive soggy, cold, and overly greasy fries. According to the sign at the pickup window, they tell you to try your fries, and if they aren't crisp and hot to let them know so they can be replaced. Really? Who has time to do that? Do they not have a quality control person on duty to check the food quality going out to customers? It doesn't take a great deal of time to look at the fries and see that they are limp as a dishrag or have been sitting under the warming lights for 30 minutes. Employees are constantly playing around/horsing around with each other and you can see and hear it while you are paying for your meal. Other times someone in charge is yelling at a staff member while they are taking my money and making change all in earshot of me, the customer which is rude and totally unprofessional for a manager. Very often the employees act like they don't even want to be there and are unfriendly and disinterested. Definitely needs a staff make-over and retraining. read more

This place was terrible. The restroom was unkempt and obviously had not been cleaned for awhile. I ordered a salad with no cheese, croutons, or dressing. After waiting for 15 minutes for my food, I found cheese all through the salad. When I returned the salad I was told they come pre-made. Every counter is greasy/dirty. Trash all over condiments counter, multiple items out of stock (ketchup, lids, napkins...) Staff just took break in dining room and left trash on a table- with this dining room so neglected, I can only fear what I would find back in the kitchen. read more

Truly awful burgers and way, way, way overpriced especially for the tiny portions that actually were served. The meat was dry, no more than one-two ounces total even though "two double patties of quarter pounders" were in the pictures on the advertisement board above patrons' heads. The single was a joke of a burger--no better than the double. Asked for everything loaded except onion and got one thin piece of tomato the size of a half dollar piece (no kidding here) and one thin, small, shriveled piece of lettuce. The fries were overcooked; nearly burnt and dry. By the way, the restaurant was a mess: trash on the floors, bathrooms stunk and were messy, windows fly-specked. Overall, this was less than a one-star rating. The franchise owner should be ashamed he/she runs such a lousy fast food restaurant. Obviously no pride on the part of the owner and the chain. The County of Appomattox citizens, and passer-by drivers, deserve first-class from what was, at least once upon a time, a great company, and not what is being fostered upon them by this truly awful excuse for a Wendy's. read more
