If you like Asian taste in your ice cream, you cannot go wrong with sesame. Lychee is refreshing, and caramel fig and rum raisin are also my favorite as I can taste a little of pick me up (wink wink). My sister's favorite is gorgonzola pear and fig but we were told it is only seasonal as they want to keep their ingredients authentic as possible. The Asian male staff was very helpful and he even mixed flavors for us to try something new and creative! Highly recommended.

Not that anything is wrong with Gelatissimo but damn 48 Flavors had me really impressed. Because they have flavours that other icecream places do not have. Actually, for me it's just 3 flavours in particular. Durian, Taro and Black Sesame. With durian, it's probably one of the most divisive foods I can think of. People either absolutely love it or hate it. It has a custard-like texture with a rich creamy quality. However the people who absolutely despise it will point out it's pungent aroma, and pungent it putting it very politely. Basically it smells like rotting fruit mixed with other things. It's considered the Kind of Fruits in SE Asia and it's definitely one of my favourites. I wasn't going to get anything...until I saw the sign saying 'Durian Icecream- Tasting Available.' I think my eyes widened a bit and I immediately went to buy a scoop. I tasted before buying and then changed my mind to 2 scoops!! It's that good. The icecream's flavour 100% matches that of ripe durian, and I was kicking myself that it took me so long to discover it. I'm definitely coming back to try a few more flavours, and to get the durian a few more times. However I may need to sit a bit further away from my friends, because they kept pointing out the smell!

Now, I'm no spring chicken and throughout my time on this planet I've had many,many steak sandwiches. You know, the usual stringy, cardboardy, uneatable, thin tiny piece of meat. But because I needed an iron hit that's what I opted for. The steak sandwich arrived on my table, it looked pretty much like any other I'd had before but then I took a bite. ..... PERFECTION! Surprise? The steak was fillet, plenty of it (drool) and cooked b-eeeeautifully :) Whenever I'm in that area again I'm going in for another treat.

It wasn't until a friend drove me to his favourite shop that I got to try the great selection. The guys Adam and Joe took over from the original owners and cakes are made specially by Marissa. On this visit I tried only the ice cream and gelato. It was very tasty and will have to work through all of them to find my favourite. There are not many tables inside and it is a very casual setting. What I did notice was the large number of people coming through the door for a takeaway ice cream. I'll be back.

I love that you can have one yoghurt that's quite traditional (eg. raspberry), another with a savoury edge (eg. nuts and seeds) and another that's up there with the wickedest of desserts (eg. flake). You can also choose a range of serving sizes from a small cup to a hulking family-size container. It's not cheap but it's good and promoted as natural and free of nasties. My faves include the Banana and Caramel Crumble and the Apricot and Almond varieties mmmm. In a nutshell - the best yoghurt around!

To be honest, I'm not totally sold…read more.. I'd been keen to get around the concept of Frozen Yoghurt - or FroYo as the hip kids call it - for a while. I'd seen these crazy concoctions, piled high with tasty added treats and I'd wanted to try...but I'm not sure that the price is right. These little beauties are charged on weight, and I reckon this place must be making a killing - you pay $2.8something per 100grams - which sure adds up fast. When I initially put my caramel frozen yoghurt - topped with a few caramel banana slices, some smarties and a wafer on the scale, I was surprised that I was getting towards a total sum of $6 - for a pretty small amount of stuff. It was a fun thing to do, but for $6 you can definitely get nicer icy treats in the Norwood area, so although it was yummy and 'different', the price really is a little off putting to me.
