I attended the adolescent PHP program for about 3 weeks earlier this year. I was severely…read moremalnourished but this was the only place I was able to get into due to insurance. During my intake, they sent me straight to the ER. When I came back they said that they wouldn't do anything for me but I could stay under their care until I got into a residential facility, even though they wouldn't help me?. The medical rooms are very small and one of the nurses was super new and had no idea what they were doing at the time. The staff were soso. Very few were nice, the main bht that worked with the adolescent unit was very sweet and the main nurse was very hard working and amazing. The other staff were, I feel, in it for the money and didn't fully give the emotional side recognition. While they say they do DBT and CBT and other kinds of therapy, they include maybe one session a day. The kids sit on their phones or do alternate activities/ don't pay attention. Sometimes the group leaders would give in and try to get them engage by playing games that don't have correlation with therapy. They only have two therapists for the adolescents and you are randomly assigned a therapist which gives you little to no room to be comfortable. My therapist, had an awful style of therapy. When she would call me in weekly, we would sit in silence and she would ask me if I had anything on my mind, me being the quiet kid that I am, usually would say nothing. When I did talk, she would just smile at me or give a nod. It was so awkward and honestly difficult for me. I already had a hard time with therapy so it drove me further from it. Once I opened up about I was losing hair from malnutrition and how I was (obviously) upset and she laughed at me and told me I knew what I needed to do. While she was right, you can't just say that to someone who is very mentally ill. They also let me get away with eating so little there, though I was on a small meal plan, they wouldn't try and boost me when I didn't eat. During meals, staff would also call out kids who were staring off or avoiding their food from across the table and ask them to talk about it to the group, which for me and probably others was triggering. Also It was embarrassing. They could've came up to you individually which would've been more comfortable and helpful. As far as food goes, they would primarily serve us processed packaged foods with little to no nutritional variety. Their dinners were okay, but only when they had catering. They used the term "all foods fit", which sure it could be true but not serving a variety and only feeding disordered kids processed foods is not healthy. Calories were out for everyone to see, meal plans were known, it was just a setup for failure. Overall, I would say if you need to go to treatment for an eating disorder, I would recommend the Eating Recovery Center, they have both PHP and Residential for both adults and adolescents not far in Bellevue. They are better structured, the staff are amazing, and they care. If the Emily program was better thought through and they had better staff that liked to interact with the kids, they would be highly improved.

Wonderful other staff who took my treatment seriously. this was my second time at residential and I was welcomed back with open arms, understanding and care. Case manager Katie S was awesome and always made sure I was being heard. Only complaint is they didn't have enough phones to do their jobs correctly. So they need more phones.

Luis really took the time to listen to both of us and helped put everything into perspective so we could understand the root causes of our problems, not just the surface fights. He kept reminding us to slow down, actually listen to each other, and not jump straight into fixing or defending. That simple shift made a huge difference. We spent around 10 sessions with Luis, and our marriage is now better than ever. My wife and I are genuinely falling in love with each other all over again. I've been coming to Laura for a few months now and am extremely pleased with the progress that I've made on my journey to healing some deep wounds. I found their website and contacted Laura and was impressed with their seamless intake process and the ability to set up and get automated appointment reminders. They have been extremely flexible and have made it easy to adjust my appointments (which I had to do regularly because of the volatility of my job). They even offered remote sessions which I took advantage of when I traveled away from the Seattle area to work from a new location during COVID lock-downs. Communications with Anchor Light Therapy have always been pleasant, quick, and easy (e-mail, text, or phone). They have a beautiful space with comfortable furniture and a plethora of beverages options that makes it feel more like visiting a friend. Laura has provided caring, empathetic, and judgement-free insights into my problems (like the personal stumbling blocks that I put in my own way and negative self-talk) and helps me come to possible solutions (re-framing my perspective, accepting what cannot be changed, and recognizing why some parts of my life aren't affected but others are). After a session with Laura I look back and realize that my feelings are valid (no one should tell you what to feel - they are your feelings) and that helps me move past triggers with a little more grace each time I encounter them. BONUS: Anchor Light Therapy filed all the necessary paperwork to help me get back some money from the insurance company. I didn't have to do anything other than provide her with my insurance card. I started receiving checks in the mail because of their consistent upkeep with the paperwork filings for each session. I expected that I'd have to pay everything out of pocket and was prepared for that. Anchor Light Therapy truly is a blessing. I would highly recommend visiting Anchor Light Therapy and Laura. Thank you!

I initially began seeing Dina to work on family issues that were negatively affecting my life. However, as our sessions progressed the skill set she taught me, the issues she helped me work through, and the revelations that then transpired not only transformed the relationship I have with my family but beyond my wildest dreams fundamentally and positively transformed my whole life. With the help of Dina, I have learned how to connect with, listen to, and follow my own wisdom. I have learned that my intuition knows exactly what it needs to know, when it needs and can know things in our ever changing and shifting world. I have learned how to really love, accept, and take care of myself. I have learned how to not only appreciate but take comfort in the unknowns in life that allow for flexibility and endless possibilities. What I can speak to are the few sessions I met with Dina for. In short, Dina is an incredible talent! Later I had the great pleasure of meeting with her for a session with her husband, also an incredibly talented, insightful and capable therapist. Not all therapists/counsellors are created or developed equally....Dina gets my highest recommendation!

Looking for a therapist was something I was nervous about; I am a very private person and don't generally talk easily about personal issues with people I don't know well (or even those I do). Chris made me feel immediately comfortable - I know that she's my therapist and I'm her client, but I felt like I was talking to a friend. But here's the important part.....it was better than talking to a friend, because she told me what I NEEDED to hear, not what I necessarily wanted to hear. She is easy to talk to, her advice is sound, and she makes sure you hear it. No mincing of words - no dancing around the bush. And you feel completely supported and encouraged at every turn. I also appreciate that she shared her own experiences when applicable. Again...this approach makes the process feel "less clinical" and much more personal. I can't say enough good things about Chris. If you're considering therapy I would encourage you to call her. You'll be glad you did. I'm a better person for working with her.
