We bought this old house almost four years ago and had to put in over $100,000 of work. Electrical and carpentry went very well. In spite of hiring multiple plumbing companies, though, things have not been right. I would clean and clean to no good end; then our kitchen sink plugged up. I didn't realize until getting up this morning how depressing this has been and how much it clouded my attitude about the house. Suffice it to say that because of the work done this week, this property finally feels like home.

On a personal level, I am going through some difficult health matters right now, and the care and kindness shown to me by this company and it's employees will never be forgotten. This is the kind of company you hope you can find to do business with. I will be passing their information on to all of my friends and I will be recommending Rotor-Matic whenever possible. Two guys came over who had no clue how to snake a clogged sewer line. They ran a cable in the wrong place. They did not open the cap and run the cable there and the cable stuck and broke the pipe. They blamed National Grid for crushing the pipe since National Grid had run a gas line to my property. They then left without removing the stuck cable and I called The Village of Colonie and they were surprised that this company had left without removing the cable. I had to hire an excavation company to dig up my lawn and replace the sewer pipe and remove the stuck cable. In the process the water line got damaged and had to be replaced which I had to pay for. These people ought to compensate me for my loss of money and suffering. Will never use this company again

It would require jack hammering the concrete to get to the pipe, but this old house might not be able to handle all that vibration. I'll find another solution, and they had some ideas they shared with me.

We were pleased enough with their quality of work, honesty, and reasonableness in pricing that we've continued to call upon them ever since as a situation arose. Our most recent need for service was to replace a hot water heater that I noticed was leaking on Christmas Eve. A call to Dave Franchini in the early morning of Boxing Day and he was able to come to the house in about an hour to examine the problem. His offer to replace the heater that very day was like receiving an enormous Boxing Day gift. Five hours later we had a new power vented gas hot water heater fully operational at a very reasonable price. There should be no doubt that I wholeheartedly recommend Franchini Plumbing. Please note that I've submitted updated information to Yelp to reflect that Dave's father, Marino, has retired, so the name, address, and phone number have changed to reflect Dave Franchini as the sole owner. Franchini Plumbing and Heating is located at 50 Longwood Dr. in Clifton Park, NY and Dave can be reached at (518) 858-6826.

This was the first winter with a new propane furnace and it failed in the middle of the night when…read morethe temperature dropped to negative 4 degrees. I called a handful of companies and none were able to come out. I called Best Plumbing & Cooling Contractors and they asked for my contact information and then messaged me to say that there was a $300 "Emergency Fee". Although that seemed high, I had no other option. The technician arrived within the hour. He told me that he had to leave the truck running with flashing lights. My neighbor, who was also awake with a failed propane furnace, saw the vehicle in my driveway and called to see if I was ok. My neighbor told me to tell the technician to try going outside and warming up the propane regulator. He said he just warmed his up and his heat came back on. I relayed this to the technician, but he did not take him up on his suggestion. At one point he changed the flame sensor but that didn't fix the problem. He asked me if I wanted to keep the new flame sensor in or if he should take it back out. I said it was fine to leave it in. He continued to try different things and finally after an hour or so, borrowed a lighter and repeatedly put the flame up to the propane coming towards the flame sensor and got it to light. I asked the technician multiple times to please explain what he did. My husband was out of town this whole time and I wanted to be able to explain to my husband what we should do when this happens again. He kept ignoring my question but then finally said if you get it light up a few times, after a while it will stay lit. When it was time to settle the bill, I was flabbergasted at the price. It was the $300 Emergency Service, plus another $300 Labor Emergency Rate! All together, my bill was $720.79. The description on the bill was flame sensor installed, but again, the flame sensor was not the issue. After doing some research the following morning, it seems that my neighbor was correct and that the first thing you should try is warming up the regulator on the propane tank. It would seem the issue could have been fixed in 10 minutes. I have called and left messages 5 times to discuss my bill with no call backs. I am so confused as to why there are so many 5 star reviews when they won't even return my phone calls.
