The pavilion is beautiful and gives the park a polished, welcoming feel. Plenty of shady spots and benches make it easy for parents (and grandparents!) to sit and relax while the kids burn off energy. All in all, if you're looking for a peaceful, charming park close to town with good amenities, Springs Park delivers. Highly recommend for families, casual visitors, or anyone wanting a breath of fresh air in a pretty setting.

The expansive brick-arched pavilion resembles a train station which is in keeping with the trains that travel down the town's Main Street daily. I was told that the pavillion is host to many musical events and the Saturday artisans/farmer's market. Also keeping with the town's love of trains, there is a piece of playground equipment fashioned after a locomotive. The playground has areas that are appropriate for younger and older children. Included in the areas are musical instruments, slides, rope bridge, climbing wall, merry-go-round and more. There is a building with very nice restrooms. There is an area of dedicated parking and there is also street parking available nearby. There is an abundance of nearby shops and eateries along Main Street.

I figured it's your average park with grass and a playground but wow it was a beautiful park with acres of water, picnic areas, and a playground. The ducks and geese's roamed wild and free on the larger waterfront and on the other pond I saw people with fishing poles fishing away. Not sure if they caught anything but they looked like they where enjoying their time. It was nice and relaxing. A good place to walk, great place to chill.

There are plenty of spots for fishing but some of them you will need to take a short hike down a gravel road. If you bring a wagon make sure it has bigger wheels but probably best to carry everything to make it easier. There is a fishing dock as well that's pretty big and most definitely is shareable with a few groups. The hiking trail that extends around to the dam is a fun walk since it goes in and out of wooded covering. Makes it great for sunny days as well. The playground is nice and maybe small to moderate size. There are BBQ stands to use and picnic tables. There are bathrooms but not very quick to get to from most parts of the park so keep that in mind. Great place to kayak as well! Great views and since the lake is narrow it makes it feel more like a river to go through. Super fun place! Glad to see them doing more work on it Only criticism is that there is lots of trash and even though it's the patrons fault, the park could do a better job at cleaning it up. Watch your little ones so they don't pick up pokey fish hooks or broken bottles.

My friend made the suggestion when we were looking for spot to launch that wouldn't cost $15/boat. The convenience of this cost savings makes up for the downsides. The two downsides are the small, tight parking lot and the long trail from the parking lot to the place where you can put your kayak in to the water. That second problem could be mitigated by the use of a hand wagon...we just need to get one. Ha ha! I am eager to explore more of the park on foot, but I can certainly guarantee I will be back here for more kayaking adventures.

Really cool park that is hidden in a neighborhood of Prospect!…read more I came with a few friends and we hiked the trails. It's not a difficult hike, but there are some hills, rocks, creeks. There are benches to rest on and swings too. I got a bit out of breath sometimes because it was a bit more strenuous than I anticipated. We saw lots of people walking their dogs, kayaking/canoeing. There used to be a waterfall you could check out, but it's not closed off since it's private property. You can park down in here in the small lot.

This little hike was recommended to me after a snowstorm--which I definitely would not suggest…read more It's mostly uphill, and the wind turned everything into ice, making it really challenging to traverse. Outside of that particular experience (and once I was on the return down-hill), I realized this trail is short, simple, charming , and easy, with a few spots offering really pretty overlook views along the way. About halfway in, a babbling creek starts to follow you, hinting that you're nearing the final destination. Then you can hear the waterfalls before rounding a bend to reveal them. The falls are fantastic with multiple levels and a very peaceful melody. Just a heads-up: the trail begins with a walk down a service road since the original trail is now on private property, roped off as part of a very interesting-looking old house/building. At the end of the service road, there's a short but steep uphill path path to rejoin the trail. After that--smooth sailing.

I had high hopes for this place, however was a overrated overpriced place…read more Ticket situation * You have to purchase tickets online. * OVERPRICED * you have to supply way more information than needed when you are filling out the waiver for your ticket. * If you would like to go out for lunch, think again because they will not allow you back in without more money. Car search * expect for a sweaty guy that has been swimming all day in his swim trunks and no shirt to touch all over every inch of your car, also taking the lid off, sticking his nose in and having a sniff inside your cup. He also will take his time to check every compartment while you have to stand outside your car. Rentals * they do have rentals for a pretty penny. If you forget a float which is necessary or you are kicked out. Entrance shenanigans * If you have a car any bigger than a Sudan you are probably going to get stuck at the entrance turn. * If you make it past the entrance you have to doge the potholes to the parking spots. Catfish * fish are neat to see and watch but when it come to cliff jumping you have to keep an eye out with so you don't land on a 10 pound catfish. It's such a shame with so much potential, will not be coming back.
