I litter-picked here for a couple hours and the most "scandalous" thing I found was a discarded can of Truly hard seltzer. That's a good sign! This is a fairly small park and the amenities won't blow adults away. The picnic shelter space is really limited and there aren't any trails or distinct scenic landmarks. However, there is a well-maintained walking loop with some swing seats interspersed; you don't see those swings too often around here outside of Waterfront Park, so that's nice! Warwick Park also has ample parking and decent shade coverage, both of which I appreciate more and more with age. This may be "just" a neighborhood park, but it's one that any neighborhood would be proud to claim as its own. It's cute, relaxing and proof that there's more to Louisville outdoor life than just the Olmsted parks.

We had planned to play on there small playground but she fell asleep so we Chelsea out the scenery instead. They have lots of water that's ankle high and lots of rock that allows you to walk out in and get in the water. It also a few small trails that surround the park that lets you see yeh park from several angles. The park includes seven benches on the banks of the water for viewing pleasure. They also have a giant pavilion that can be rented out. Which looks like at one point was very impressive. Now it's not upkept and filled with graffiti. It's honestly the only eye sore here. Hopefully they clean it up. Overall cool place that looks like it has 3 different parking lots for different entry points. Although the water is low enough and there is a bough rocks to easily walk this small park and get to any entrance. We had a nice visit here and I look for art to coming back with my other kids and enjoying the exploring and playground.

Oh.. and horse stables literally across the street. ‍ 4 stars only because of the bathroom situation. If I was reviewing the Seneca Park bathroom alone, I'd give 1 star -- only because they exist, with a roof, lighting and indoor plumbing. The men's bathroom is always disgusting. Not well kept by any means. I don't think the soap dispensers have ever had soap when I visited. Once I did find a small bar of soap (like from a hotel). What if you want to wash your hands? -- spoiler alert: YOU SHOULD WANT TO WASH YOUR HANDS!! There's a 50/50 chance of having hand sanitizer or finding a toilet full of TP/BM and standing water that won't flush. Don't be surprised if there's a puddle around the toilet or a little surprise on the seat. Hep-A & C-Diff, anyone? Gross, I know. I also noticed there are no locks on the stalls. What if you want some privacy? It's hard to blame the Park when this is clearly the doing of people being gross, inconsiderate humans. Gentleman-- like, why?! Do better! In summary, Seneca Park is the perfect place to meet up for a workout or coffee w/ a friend. Definitely use the bathroom before you visit -- or at-least carry hand sanitizer and maybe keep some emergency toilet paper in your car.

The area around and under all of the play structures is astroturf. Some of the play structures and the swings have shade clothes above them to minimize the effects of the sun. There are a few benches for supervising adults to rest on. My husband and I frequently include the park as part of our walks and it is always immaculate, including the play area. In addition to the picnic gazebo in the new extension, there are several picnic tables in the original part of the park. The park is perfect for a picnic lunch and stroll, or a picnic and play outing for children.
