There are two children's play places, swings, basketball court, and tennis court. There are also a couple of picnic tables. Since it's close, I will be walking near or through it often. It also hugs interstate 64. There are many trees around the park but I'm going to make it a point to walk through it this fall when the leaves fall. I'm almost positive you can watch the traffic on the interstate and see a great shot of downtown if the leaves were gone. On a Friday evening, we had the park all to ourselves. I don't think I'd go out of my way to visit this park but if you're in the neighborhood, stop in and check it out.

"Quaint" is the best word to describe Clifton Park. It's definitely in a location that you'd have…read moreto actively seek out, and while they do have some surprisingly impressive amenities (water refill station, two playground sets, etc), they lack some common sense features as well (most notably bathrooms). It also has to be one of the least busy Louisville parks; even on summer weekends, it's not uncommon to have the park to yourself for a while. Clifton Park will likely leave a positive first impression on families, since the bigger of the two playgrounds is in great condition. It even includes a bright orange bridge that looks like a smilin' sunfish - if that isn't welcoming, I don't know what is! Unfortunately, the other facilities are noticeably worn by comparison, with the tennis court being the biggest offender. Perhaps because of the lack of foot traffic, it doesn't seem like the city gives this park much TLC - though on the bright side, it doesn't get hit with much litter either. There isn't much here for adults beyond some sunrise/sunset/skyline views, but it's a reasonable option if your kids are feeling restless. Keep them careful around the left fence, though; there are some shady-looking openings which lead to the hills overlooking the interstate, and perhaps some "Louisville weirdness" within the trees. (Unfortunately, the swing set is close to that fence.)

Wetherby Park has been recently extended to include a gorgeous children's play area and a picnic…read moregazebo. The children's play area has several different play structures and 2 sets of swings. The area around and under all of the play structures is astroturf. Some of the play structures and the swings have shade clothes above them to minimize the effects of the sun. There are a few benches for supervising adults to rest on. My husband and I frequently include the park as part of our walks and it is always immaculate, including the play area. In addition to the picnic gazebo in the new extension, there are several picnic tables in the original part of the park. The park is perfect for a picnic lunch and stroll, or a picnic and play outing for children.

This small park in Middletown is the the go-to spot for the City of Middletown's events. The summer…read moreconcert series, Christmas lighting, Easter Egg Hunt, etc. There is a statue of Lawrence Wetherby, who was the first governor of Ky who was born in Jefferson County (fun fact: there's only one other). The park has a pavilion where the annual Christmas tree is displayed. There are also a couple of benches. That is all there is but this park is functional and is a good spot for picnic lunches for those who work nearby.

Beckley Creek Park is the perfect park to start a run, walk, or bike ride from. I started a long…read morerun with a group here yesterday. Home of the Oldham County Youth Football that play on weekends.There are two softball fields with concession area. A huge lake for fishing from bank or dock. Several picnic shelters, restrooms and a terrific playground for the little ones. Well maintained Horseshoe pits. Tennis courts. And some of the nicest walking trails you will find anywhere. All are mostly level and there are birds and wildlife everywhere.

This is our favorite park to go to as a family. In addition to this there is a massive lawn to play things like soccer or other sports, great paved walking or biking paths and it even goes into the woods where you can play in the creek. There are plenty of great trails here, paved and dirt, and a hand-full of fun geocaches if you download the app. Very amazing park!

Obviously designed as just a nice place to enjoy a lunch from one of the many nearby commercial buildings on Stanely gault and east point. I worked out in this area a few years back and stopped in here a time or two. Really nothing special but it is a cool thought. Definitely not a kids park or playground. Just a place to sit and relax.

This park is a very welcome addition to the Crestwood area since there was no previous park. Located on 52 acres there are many activity opportunities. There are Picnic shelters with restroom facilities. A very nice Playground for the little ones. A Basketball court. Walking trails. Sand volleyball court similar to a beach court. And adult size Tennis courts. There is a paved path around the playground for walking or biking. there is a nice creek for kids to explore in the summer. If you are nearby make sure you stop and check it out.
