Large, spacious and fun park located in the highlands right in the Tyler park neighborhood off Baxter ave. This place is pretty awesome. Very scenic and pretty yet simple landscape. Very fun playground areas with innovative swings/play sets and even a cool nature made obstacle course. Took my 4 daughters here today on a daddy daughter day and grabbing breakfast in a nearby highlands restaurant. They ran around and played and soaked in the good weather and fun sights and playground. We also took the simple little sidewalk trail that circles along the outside of the park. The place has plenty of park benches to sit down and relax and it appears to be a popular place to dog walk. We had a great time and the place is really cool. Next time we are in the highlands with the kiddos and time and weather permitting we will have to stop by again. Highly recommend for any park lovers.

I lived next to Tyler Park for many years. It's a gem of a park that doesn't get the praise it deserves. I happened to be nearby today with my son, and since the weather was gorgeous, we stopped. After the recent renovations, it's easy to see that Tyler Park is a gem that now shines. This is a small but mighty park that shouldn't be ignored. The renovations included redoing the tennis courts. With the new paint, these stood out and were packed with families and couples playing tennis. The tunnel under the Baxter Avenue overpass is now more accessible. The steps have been replaced by a ramp. And the playground has been greatly expanded. Just past the tunnel, there are now two large, clean, brand-new playsets. One is for younger kids and the other older, with plenty of slides, ladders and more. My son had a blast. There were also swings, tree stumps to climb on and more. Other renovations include new bathrooms, ball courts and picnic tables. The neighborhood worked hard to fund and complete these renovations, and I commend them on the great job they did. Tyler Park is a park anyone would love to have in their neighborhood.

Tyler Park is beautiful, like most Louisville parks. Very well maintained, big tennis courts & a nice playground for kids.

What I appreciate most about the club are the friendly people. The lifeguards, swim coaches, snackbar staff, and Chuck Cooper consistently work hard to ensure an excellent experience. The front desk staff are always welcoming, and management frequently reaches out to members for feedback on improving the club. They also do a fantastic job of keeping membership rates consistent. For instance, they allow me to add my wife to my membership during the summer for an additional fee, and then I can return to my previous single membership at the same rate when summer ends. The central location of the facilities, along with the friendliness of both the members and the staff, makes this my favorite place to work out in Louisville. It's been wonderful still having the pool open outside. Most outdoor pools close on Labor Day. Blairwoods is open year round! Thank you!

First, the room was dark and quiet so I didn't think there was a class. Then I realized it was and quietly said to the instructor that I was just observing. She got up and came toward me and said, " we are getting ready to do balance work". I was in the middle of telling her that I just want to observe to see if this is something I'm capable of doing and she closed the door on me. She was so rude I couldn't believe it! I am seriously considering going someplace else. I'm disappointed because I wanted to try yoga.

My children are now 8 and 10 and I still feel they can enjoy the playground. It offers something for children of all sizes. The inside facilities could still use some updates. The workout area is still not something I feel drawn to use as it is squeezed into an area that all people pass through on their way to class, the pool, or any other parts of the facility. The area is dark and glum and, since I have enough trouble finding self-motivation to work out, this is something I'd like to see changed. I'm not sure the facility has a better space for it, but daylight and more openness would go a long way in improving this experience. Kudos to the facility for offering a variety of classes ranging from fitness (including yoga, swimming, Zumba and more) to after-school care and even guitar lessons. It is a well-rounded facility that all ages can benefit from. I have seen seniors doing aqua aerobics and there is a small daycare room for the younger children. This could be improved with increased toys and activities, but it is offered and can help a mom get a workout in when she otherwise might not.
