Every year in June or July they have a summer picnic with free hot dogs, sodas, waters, and activities for the kids! There is bluegrass music, pony rides, face painting, balloon twisting, and different police vehicles are on display such as the helicopter.

The middle school next door also uses it for school events (Color Run, student celebrations). The pool is public and you can purchase day passes fairly cheap (less than $10pp). I've been told it is busy during the day with hours blocked out for the DH swim team practices. Besides a large walking circle, visitors use the soccer goals, sand volleyball court and tables / benches. A small playground has a few swings and things to crawl on - and as a mom I hate the taller climbing pieces, which are broken arms waiting to happen. On this last visit we spotted a free book stand. I'll have to remember to bring some books to share! Tonight we visited the park for its annual fireworks show. It's fairly impressive and brings out the crowd. You can come early for music and food trucks (or pack a cooler) or drive over a few minutes before the show with your camping chair. While not as scenic as other parks in Louisville this is a spot you can enjoy with others or for a walk to clear your head.

Yeah, there a few areas that lack a bit of shade on a hot day but overall it's a nice walk.

It also host an annual fireworks display and periodic farmers markets. The park offers a decent walking path. Along the path are various trees and plaques identifying them. I also love the swings! Several children enjoy the playground and it was recently updated. Others features include a volleyball court, gazebos and tables for picnics. There's plenty of green space too if you want to throw down a blanked and read. Parking spaces are available around the park or in nearby neighborhood streets. Near the playground is a little library.

This park is a hidden gem back in the Berrytown, Anchorage community. There are tennis courts,…read moreabasketball court, a full-size softball field, picnic tables, grills, a playground, a swingset, restrooms, and (in need on repair) horseshoe pits. The park is just off LaGrange Rd -- turn onto Heafer Road and you'll see the park in about a 1/2 mile. The parking lot is small, but sufficient for this very quiet park tucked away in a residential neighborhood. It appears to be managed by Metro Parks, but could use some work. No walking or running path here. The softball field benches appear to have been broken and remain unfixed. On the Horshoe pits, there's only one pole. There is a restroom building, but I can't speak to the cleanliness of it because it was locked for the winter. There's also a water fountain, but it to was turned off. I assume, for the winter. This park would be a perfect place for a quiet family get together, or a pick up game of softball, basketball or kickball. Perhaps us yelpers should use this location for our next kickball UYE.

Tiny little park over in the commercial area of buildings on Stanely gault parkway closer to the…read moreold Henry road entrance of the parkway. Obviously designed as just a nice place to enjoy a lunch from one of the many nearby commercial buildings on Stanely gault and east point. I worked out in this area a few years back and stopped in here a time or two. Really nothing special but it is a cool thought. Definitely not a kids park or playground. Just a place to sit and relax.

This is a cool little park located right around the Blankenbaker area. I came across this little…read morewalking path and we had a son and a little garage if you can look at the flowers in very small but elegant. I enjoyed walking around checking it out.
