This well-maintained urban park is a peaceful oasis amid Baptist Health East and multiple medical buildings. Two paved trails allow for walking through wooded areas and foot bridges take visitors across Bear Creek. The creek is home to many ducks and geese. I was so pleased to see appropriate feed available for sale and signage informing visitors about bread being unhealthy for the ducks. A small loop trail off the main trail leads to the family cemetery of the Brown family, who donated the land for the park. There is a covered pavilion with picnic tables, a children's play area, and restroom facilities (very clean!). Additional picnic tables and a plethora of benches are scattered along the trails and throughout the park. The park is dog-friendly (leashed) and waste bags are available. I saw one emergency telephone in the park, too. The park had a relaxing and peaceful vibe on my visit. A beautiful place to walk or simply sit with a coffee and good book! I understand that the park is beautifully decorated with light displays during the Christmas season and I can't wait to come back and see it!

A pleasant place to walk in a secluded area near the Beargrass Creek amongst the ducks. This is an oasis for nearby hospital employees and families with children. In the back of the park is the small Brown Family Cemetery. This cemetery is listed as one of the creepiest cemeteries in Louisville. Whether that is true or not thankfully repairs have been made and the graffiti removed.

I've been to this park a couple of times now. Do you like ducks? Do you like to feed ducks? Do you like to walk around like a duck and go "quack"? Well... this is the place for you! I think this might be the best place in the city to feed ducks... THERE ARE SO MANY! Anytime my girlfriend mentions not seeing animals on our hike, I'm going to bring her here because you can count on the ducks to be out in full force! If I didn't know any better, I'd say the ducks have a Duck New Year party every single day! This park feels more like a community family park. It's not too big but it has a nice pathway to walk around. There's also a playground for the kids. There is also an area you can walk back to be closer to the creek and next to the expressway. It also seems that you can walk along the creek but we didn't explore too much the day we went. There was the obvious graffiti on the overpass and it would be a perfect place to be homeless and have people leave you alone. The charm for me with this park is how close it is to the malls, hospitals, and interstate. It's in a busy area but once you're in the park and walking around, you forget about that. You're surrounded by traffic on a couple of sides of the park but it's somehow easy to ignore. It's obviously not the best park in town but it's worth stopping at every now and then. ESPECIALLY for the ducks but with the ducks, those Canadian Geese think they can have their jollies too... you have to watch out for that doofus animal; They'll peck you.

I was in the area last week so I decided to stop at a few different parks that were in the proximity of baptist east where I had to visit. So anyway Brown Park has been on my yelp list for couple years now and I never got a chance check it out when I was over at the hospital I saw Playground behind Baptist east so I decide to walk over and check it out. It was Brown Park and I had no idea I was like whoa I'm at Brown Park cool I can walk around take pictures and say I've been here. And that's exactly what I did it had a lot of cool things had a nice little playground for the kids had a nice walking trails for me and just overall really pretty scenery I will tell you what I'll drive a big black truck and the brown park does not enjoy having big parking spots. So that was unfortunate but so is that cool park for sure I enjoyed it I will be back I recommend you do too

Brown has easily become my favorite park in the St. Matthews area. It's clean, beautiful, and very large. There's 3 or 4 different trails, some long-ish and some short. There are all kinds of different sights to see, like some creeks, bridges, and a small hidden cemetery off a beaten path. This park is located right next to Baptist East, so if you work there or are already at the facility needing some fresh air, you can walk about 100 feet outside to get to the path. I'm kinda jealous I don't live in one of the apartments nearby, I'd probably walk here just about every day!

Wish I could be here for the Christmas special that brown park does for the community. I was very impressed with the Halloween event the kiddos loved it and what a great walking parking and play area for the kids . Thank you for community that goes above and beyond for our families .

Cute little park. Clean. Next to the hospital. Playground. Clean and well-maintained restrooms. A few paved trails. Lots of spots to sit and enjoy. A stream and a secret cemetery. Lots of waterfowl, lots of folks feeding the fowl. The 4 stars is my rating in a non-pandemic world. But I stopped by for a walk while my car was getting worked on at PepBoys. During the COVID pandemic. I know restrictions are loosening....but it felt like too much. A ton of kids playing on the playground, a lot...I mean A LOT of people all over the park, no one observing social distancing, not only was I the only person I saw *wearing* a mask....I didn't see anyone else even carrying one with them. Not even the folks coming over from the hospital for a break. At one point, I sat down in an empty area. Minutes later a couple families, a total of 8 people, decided that where I was sitting was the PERFECT place for their picnic lunch. No masks, not even leaving 6ft between us....plopped on down right next to me. So I skedaddled on out of there. I needed a restroom, and I can confirm that the bathrooms were fabulously clean, because of pandemic changes. BUT....there was no soap in the dispenser. Thank goodness I have been carrying hand sanitizer with me! This is not the fault of the park...this is the fault of the people at the park. But since the pandemic started, this was the densest amount of people I have seen in one spot. I was very anxious, and I decided not to stick around too long.

Spacious dog-friendly park with plenty of room to walk/jog while maintaining space from other visitors. I spotted multiple types of wildlife including those who inhabit the small body of water that runs through the park. There are sections of the park that allow for catching the sun and also shady sections to dodge the heat. Some of the paths have a small amount of elevation. I highly recommend this park and will visit again soon.

A nice park, right in the middle of St. Matthews. I walk here frequently, during all seasons. It has been a nice place to get exercise and fresh air during COVID. I really appreciate the Christmas lights that are put up every year. Adds some cheer during difficult times. This park is wheelchair accessible, has a playground, as well as walking/running trails.

The New playground is AMAZING! They even have these swing seats for parents under shaded trees. Many more benches to sit on while the kids play. The Barbecue are is also new and perfect for all types of Parties, with 2 large grills and new restrooms near by. This park is always great for pictures, with plenty of ducks and beautiful plants. The path is great for a walk, a run. It's a wonderful place for pets also! And for Pokémon Go players there is 6 Poke-stops throughout the Park and 2 Pokémon Go Gyms !

This park is immaculate and clean! Even for a smaller park, there such an abundance of wildlife. I saw a Grey heron while I was there, along with a Hawk and of course lots of ducks! I bring my son here when he wants to see and feed ducks. The trail is awesome, not very long but you can loop it as many times as you need. Everybody is friendly, all the moms, dads, kids, and all the people are polite. There is a playground and shelter from birthday parties!

I come to this park every morning after I drop my grandson off at Kindergarten!! My dog loves the ducks and the trails! The new playground is excellent for my grandson. It is nice having a clean inviting park so close to my house. The Halloween Stroll is a must do with children!! And of course Light Up Brown Park!! What a lovely place.

If you like ducks, this is the park for you! It's in the DuPont area of town and has a couple different paths you can walk on depending on how far you want to walk. It's relatively quiet and has huge, mature trees with lots of shady spots. When I went there were about 100 ducks swimming in the stream and on the path which was cool to see. A solid park if you live on the east end of town.
