I buy large amounts of meat and bring it home to can. They sell these long rolls of Angus Fine Ground Beef and they were at $1.69, then went up to $1.79 and now are up to $2.29 a pound......but they are still worth it, and better than what the grocery stores sell. The beef roasts, pork roasts, chicken breast tenderloins are all superior quality! Can't find anything wrong with a single thing. We also like to buy the fresh produce at Mainesource. They sell large bags of lettuce and salad greens that unlike the bags of the ones you get at the grocery stores last more than a couple of days. Once summer comes though, I'll be growing my own. So I am very fussy about the produce I do purchase and this store passes my test. I also like to purchase the bulk cleaning supplies, paper products, and large cans of things like tomato sauces. They have a large selection of all and excellent prices. This is another one of my favorite stores! I highly recommend it.

My Dad purchased a larger bag of chicken from here about 4 weeks ago and had put it in the freezer…read morebefore the expiration date. He took it out today to use and noticed little white dots on the chicken. After googling what they could be and seeing a mix of reviews he called Maines to see if he could exchange the product since he saw some concerns about eating chicken like that. Maines told him that theyve never seen any chicken like that and would not exchange it. Very disappointing since they couldnt tell why the chicken would have that happen especially after being in the freezer and werent willing to do anything so now he will have to discard a whole bag of chicken since he is not sure what would cause that and would not want to take the chance of getting sick.

If you have any kitchen supply needs, please do go and see for yourself that everyone that works there is perfectly nice & professional. We (The PIggery) buy just about all of our paper goods there, and they have a full range of compostable "plastics" which is nice - instead of throwing eveyone's used cups in to the trash we can toss them right in to our Cayuga Compost bins. We've also made equipment purchses through them, and they are currently being our personal saviors by helping us with a nightmare kitchen hood situation. Prices are right, quality is great, staff are all super helpful - all around they are running a great business.

The staff were very helpful with locating what we needed, making the receipt for a special return since it was off the shelf instead of in the box. Nice collection of everything from Chef jackets and hats (Gift idea) to baking supplies. I knew I would find something I needed and I did. I purchased a perfectly sized cookie scoop, and unlike with Amazon shopping, there was a range of sizes to choose from. There is also an interesting section of the store selling Syracuse China items. Apparently, you can sell your Syracuse China sets to Smith's. Had a lovely time perusing the shelves.
