They do not pass out any medication indiscriminately. They do pill counts, drug testing and keep up with current research. The American Medical Association has recently come out in support of pain management at a time when this is a difficult area of medicine to practice. There are many medical conditions that do not respond to alternative pain treatments and sometimes opioid medication becomes necessary for optimal functioning. The current body of research now clearly shows, without any doubt, that pain medication prescription rates and overdose rates have no statistical relationship. None. Zero. Zip. Overdoses resulting in death are almost always a result of illicit opioids like heroin & illegal fentanyl, polysubstance use and occasionally diversion of prescription medication used by someone it was not prescribed to. This is typically a result of poverty, hopelessness, lack of employment opportunities, etc. If we hope to combat overdose rates in our state, we need to start fixing the problem rather than hurting patients in need. Alcohol & tobacco also kill significant numbers of people and our country largely ignores that. I was desperate,…read morehaving tried PT, chiropractic alignments, yoga, Alexander Technique, and more, with no real results. I came to Pain Free right before leaving to go live abroad. Mackie, a specialist here, did an evaluation of general structural imbalances in my posture, then proscribed a series of exercises. It didn't come cheap and felt a lot like PT, so I was skeptical as I left the country. However, within a few days, I noticed a reduction in pain. Months later, I can say for sure that these exercises have made a huge difference in my day-to-day comfort. And for follow-up sessions, Mackie has been very helpful in working with the distance to continue treatment to proscribe new exercises as needed. If you're in pain, give them a try. It worked wonders for me.

She was extremely rude about it, actually yelling at me that I shouldn't be going in there and complaining, and offering no apology at all. I hadn't had pain meds in over 2 weeks because of her incompetence! Never going back there.

After visiting many other doctors I finally found Dr. Lomeo. She and her staff are extremely friendly. I felt she was very thorough in reviewing my medical history. I also felt she was attentive when listening to me and my concerns about my illness. She is always genuinely concerned about my wellbeing and managing my pain to the point I can live comfortably. At that appointment I was seen by a PA who said since the esi did not work they would not do the trigger point injections. No understandable reason why. Five minute appointment they charged my insurance over $300 for and really could have just told me that over the phone. I really don't like that my dr. referred me for two different procedures and I only received one.

I met with Dr. Brian Lee and I was extremely pleased that he took the time to listen to me and understand my chronic pain. I loved that he didn't just jump to having needles being stuck into my spine but rather focused on less invasive methods before doing that. I would first like to say that I am no one special. Just a regular person. They haven't "ignored" me in the literal sense, but they make no real effort to actually connect. I get callbacks at 4:50 PM, but the phones are already off when I call back two minutes later. They don't leave informative voicemails and they don't respond to the portal. The most ridiculous part is that I actually paid for an appointment with the NP just to get a message through to the staff. Even after paying for that visit, it has been three business days and the issue is still not resolved. They took my payment for an appointment and still haven't lifted a finger to fix the medication lapse. If you are a busy person who expects a basic level of professional follow-through, look elsewhere.
