Went to another mechanic who actually found the leak under a protective hose, repaired it and now all is well. No vehicle is too old to be worked on. Even today we see old Model A's and T's on the road with original motors that are repaired and kept going. They had a lot of other work going on, but they had my tire patched in about 20 minutes. $18 to patch a tire is a lot cheaper than buying a new one.
