For any true emergency as surgeries followed by pertinent treatments/in-patient stays that can't wait, you will be throwing money away even with backup from cards as Care Credit which don't offer as many thousands as required at the clinic, right on the spot. If vets had a different perspective on the way they look at their patients and at treatments needed with urgency, this type of insurance would surely work.
