This almost certainly reflects a response to demand rather than rising costs, given that individual gullets haven't increased in price. It seems like a case of, "We've sold out for two months straight--let's see how much more we can charge." Knowing this is their own product, the justification can't be higher supplier costs. It's frustrating to see this kind of price manipulation, especially when price gouging has been a topic of national attention.

She'd been sick a while, we knew it was coming. Of course, that didn't make it any easier. The staff here was absolutely wonderful. As soon as we walked in, they took us out of the lobby so we wouldn't have to sit with all the happy/healthy animals. They didn't question us, they saw her and told us we were making the right choice. They brought her a soft cat bed to lay in. They gave us all the time we needed to hold her and love her, until we were ready. No pressure. Then they allowed my 16 year old daughter to hold her beloved girl until she was gone. We were allowed more time with her. Then they gave us each a vile of her beautiful fur. We weren't rushed. We did everything on our terms/time. And our girl left this world surrounded in love. I would 100% recommend PETS Referral Center. I hope we never have to go back. But, we would of we had too.

I understand ER is expensive for pet visits but I believe the service provided to us and the cost associated with our pet's illness didn't quite correlate. We waited nearly 4-5 hours until we were seen when we were told it would take 1 hour wait. We were also told about their "gold star" treatment plan which would have cost over $2,000 out of pocket before submitting reimbursements to pet insurance. The doctor that were worked with gave us an inaccurate estimate before we were told this price range. After which, we asked what other plans would be available, and was asked "how much can you pay?" I understand that there was a miscommunication, and she was probably asking to see what unnecessary procedures to cut out of the visit... the doctor spoke very quickly and sometimes communication was awkward. She smiled and nodded her head to ask us to give anesthesia to our pet because she was uncomfortable with getting blood drawn... and we were not given time to think about whether we wanted this or not, and had to go back and tell her no since she left the room very quickly. which has not been a problem in the past with prior vets. We declined the anesthesia, since our pet had not eaten or drank. It seemed like there was no way for her to draw blood without anesthesia which is a first for me. In the past when I've called into vets back home in San Jose, they would recommend a protocol before bringing in a pets as to not waste money or time. Our pet as we found out after bringing him home and having fluids given and anti-nausea meds... he was ok with her simple instructions of bland diet (which could have been a protocol and a protocol that was given to me in the past).

I took my dogs there for ear infections and flea meds. My female dog had a cyst on her. Initially…read morewhen I asked them about removing the cyst I was told they can't do it and to take her to a surgeon for removal. But the cyst wasn't bothering her, nor was it solid like cancer so I decided to leave it alone. It had been 2 years with the cyst no problem. So I took them in April of this year for the ear infection and flea meds. When they brought her back to me they told me they had drained the cyst. THIS WAS NOT WHAT I BROUGHT HER FOR NOR DID I ASK AT THIS APPOINTMENT!! I asked why they did that and she said the doctor told her it was normal practice which I knew was not! The told me to monitor it and if it got infected to bring her to an emergency clinic. A few days later the cyst was back and larger! It was now hard and filed with blood! I tried to take her to the El Ceritto location and was told they couldn't help her and to call a surgeon. I called and took her around and was getting estimates of about $2800! I couldn't afford that. I called Petvet back and told them and they basically said I'm on my own and wouldn't help me save her. I was deeply devastated. By that time the cyst ruptured and was now a giant hole on her side. Luckily I found Vets In Vans. They quickly put her in antibiotics and got the infection down. Then was able to heal her with meds from the inside out. I spent almost $1000 trying to save my dog. Today I went back simply for a flea med refill and was turned away in the most rudest manor from a white lady with matted hair like a dog, who works there. She yelled at me in front of everyone that they won't see my dogs ever again because of "what I had done before". I was confused because I definitely did complain but was never rude. And in fact I could have complained to the board but chose not to because that was literally the only issue I've ever had with them. But after today's treatment from that lady with the dog matted hair, I am definitely filing! She is the true definition of a Snow Roach and should never be allowed to work with anyone's pet again! I asked for her name, she refused and told me figure it out! Would not give me the manager or owners info to file a complaint. There is also a young African American Woman who was very nice and professional who did take the time to hear me out. But she also denied what had happened saying their clinic doesn't do cysts. I asked her for the paperworkfrom April's appointment and she kindly gave that to me. And that is where I discovered that they actually noted that they drained the cyst I showed it to her and she even looked surprised. So needless to say I'm filing a complaint with the board and a small claims court claim as well!

He is so skinny and the two of them look sort of pathetic. Globs in their fur, probably diseases and fleas - but I like them. Due to their upper respiratory disease I have to be carful with them and not introduce their problems to my cat - but I still help them out best I can. I give them wet food and dry and Lysine from here to help with allergies or the URI. Probably in the future i will TNR them as Mrs Meow looks worn out from having children with this guy. A few days later the other one also died. Called to express our concern and unfortunately the person working could not offer any solution, store credit, or refund and simply said once an animal is out the bag it's no longer their problem.
