I gave a four because overall it was a good value. I have some feedback both good and bad. First they got us in right away despite other places being booked out. They greeted us and got us in right away, no waiting. In fact the form they provided we didn't even get to finish so they had no info on sore places we needed worked on, any medical concerns that might prevent some work etc. i would suggest they learn a bit before working on someone. Rooms were clean and its a nice little set up. Soft music but seems its a 15 min track that played over and over for the hour. Can be a bit distracting over a seamless 1 hr track. I never saw my therapist or got a name prior to being almost naked face down. I felt this was the biggest flaw of the experience. Luckily it was a woman and things went fine but they should definitely introduce you to whom will be working on you. It was a bit unnerving. My friend got a male and she is not bothered by that but some females may be. None speak very good English which is no biggie but I would guess they are Thai. She climbed on the table a few times and the stroke intensity was strong. So much so I had bruising the next day. I like a good deep massage but trained folks know how to not damage the vessels so again unclear if these are all licensed therapists. Ive been to many different types of facilities including thai massage places and Japanese. Im not a massage snob by any means, just experienced enough to know the difference. The lady was quiet and polite. The first few minutes were telling as she kinda just launched right in and transitions were not seamless. Once the hot stone part began however she really hit her stride and it resembled a more trained massage. Overall it was a good deep tissue massage sans the bruising. Everyone was polite, timely and the price of $65 + tip was unmatched in the area. They give you a bottle of water when you leave and the owner was very sweet. I would definitely give them a try. If you don't like deep tissue just tell them "light" or "not hard" and Im sure they will tailor. The typical foot massage consists of...head, shoulder, arms and hands while your feet soak. He just did my arms. The lounge type chair is usually flat...I was tilted up about 2-3 feet. The foot massage was more like a gentle rub...no pressure at all. None. Usually after your 2 feet are done...you roll over on your stomach for a head, shoulder, entire back and leg massage...nope. My visit here with my mom is three stars at the highest. The lobby is small and quaint. My mom and I arrived 30 min before our apts. Partly because we are tourists and I had to use the bathroom badly. Partly because when we made our appointment last week, we had asked for both of our services have an add on of foot reflexology massage. The woman I spoke to on the phone said she would get back to us whether foot reflexology was available and she never did. So we decided to show up early to ask. Note: there is NO front desk receptionist. Luckily for us, my massage therapist was sitting at the front desk to welcome us. Unluckily for us, he was fairly uninformed (which he admitted) to all our questions. He didn't know my mom had a facial. Didn't know that we inquired about foot reflexology and were waiting for a response for four days. Made a bunch of calls right before our appointment and couldn't find one. Didn't know if I could redeem the Yelp Check In offer. Didn't know how to work their new online scheduling system. Didn't know where to find the facial check in forms. I was brought in for my massage first. Jack was a good massage therapist who checked in on me frequently. He started me face up first which turned out nice. Probably one of the best massages I've had on my calves and quads. He kept a firm pressure. He was liberal with the lotion. You can tell he knew what he was doing and his expertise is the reason why this review isn't 2 stars. It would have been HIGHER rating though but I found the room to be very cold. And the massage table slipped when I tried getting in. Jack also had the sniffles which kind of grossed me out. And his hands were ice cold at the beginning (they warmed up tho.) Let's talk about my mom's facial with Leticia. Leticia walked into the building 10 min after my mom's appt started. I was well into the beginning of my massage when I heard my mom walk past my door into her facial room. According to my mom, leticia actually did a great facial. Her skill level of expertise was impressive. This would have been a higher rating, again, except that Leticia had some personal crisis going on. And actually throughout the facial kept checking her phone, was oversharing about her family situation with my mom, and actually abandoned my mom on the table for 20 min to take a personal phone call. As people, we totally are understanding of personal emergencies and I believe we showed a lot of grace throughout the appt. My mom even kindly told Leticia if she needed to, to just end the facial so she could address her family crisis. Leticia said it was fine and that they could continue. But then abandoned her at the table for 20 min. I was waiting in the lobby for my mom to finish like 25 min. If we had a booked day, it would have been an issue. But we were pretty relaxed and free so it was fine. My mom came out and was stressed and anxious. Her actual facial was fine. But whatever Leticia had going on completely spilled over in unprofessionalism. When leticia came out and rang us up, I could sense her jitteriness, anxiety, and stress. She was talking a mile a minute about her crisis and about the services and about the scheduling mix up and how they have a new scheduling system (that apparently has dropped appointments at least four times). I hope as customers we were gracious to her. But at that pt we just wanted to leave. She even followed us out the door and kept chattering. She seemed to be having a hard time recovering and just needed to take the day off, honestly. It was weird. As customers, I'm pretty disappointed with the lack of professionalism of this place. They have quite a few kinks to work out. I'd recommend warmer rooms. A secure scheduling system. Breaks for their employees when they're sick or have personal crisis. A full time receptionist. Their booking and staffing is a complete disaster. Not all their services are available when they're open. Traditional chinese massages are available only on the weekends. Facials and foot reflexology are only available when their aesthetician is there and foot reflexologist is there. But there's no telling when. If they can work out those kinks, this place has potential. Their actual staff is knowledgeable and good at what they do...if they show up on time and are in good mental and physical health. A 2.5 rating is more accurate of the kind of service we received. But I hate giving low ratings to places if I can help it. All the staff were at least kind and respectful, even tho it was a terrible process. I'm trying to be gracious here. We both left the standard 20%ish tip for each. I'm still not sure if the yelp check in discount applies. Leticia kindly gave us the discount I think mostly because we had such a terrible experience. Someone else try it and see if it works!! We got the 60 min couples wellness massage but were beat to death by the Asian massage therapists, similar to a bad pedicure massage you often get at a nail salon. They were very rough, spoke very little English, did not soften their touch much when asked, and in no way made it a relaxing experience. This was the worst massage I have ever had in my whole life. The gal worked hard, but it was honestly just terrible. Felt like much of my massage was the equivalent of when you get a pedicure, and the "massage" portion of the pedi is just somebody running their thumb painfully up your shin bone, and then making two fists and smacking the side of their fists around your calf over and over again (ladies, you KNOW what I am talking about!). I gave feedback in the massage and it was still just so terrible. I really needed one so I stuck it out hoping it would improve, and there was about five minutes where the gal got up on the table and walked on my back that was helpful, but the rest of my 90 minute massage was just bad. I don't care that they say they use hot stone and a foot soak--technically that is true but the hot stone portion sucked because she really didn't utilize the stones well, and the foot soak was pleasant but brief. If I could give this "spa" a zero I would. My boyfriend and I went for a couples massage on the last day of our trip and we prayed the whole time for the experience to end. When we walked in, the smell in the lobby was very strange and musty. We filled out paper work with our desired add ons, goals, and focus spots - which is standard. We went in to a couples massage room and got ready for our massages. They were so painful. I was sweating but not in the good "this is a really good massage getting in deep," way. She was pushing directly on my spine with her thumbs as if she was trying to massage my back bones? I asked multiple times for her not to do something since it was so painful. Both massage techs must not have read the paperwork that we previously filled out since there was no additional add ons that we selected done. They choose to do a foot scrub on both of us. Both of us had raw feet from the harsh scrubbing and the scalding hot water for 2-3 days. At check out, they reminded me, very promptly, that the charge did not include the tip that we were expected to pay. I responded that I was not at all satisfied with the massages and that I did not believe a tip was justified and they all walked to the back with piss-poor attitudes. 1000% do not recommend. One massage therapist was out of the room at least half of the 60min because she was trying to multitask working the front desk, answering the phone, and doing the massage. They disregarded NO TOUCH zones, argued with each other a few times during the session, dropping things, walking in and out of the room many times, the music had loud ads that interrupted every ten minutes, tried to sell us additions mid session, trying to pressure us into it by repeating "$10" 15 times... and their overall techniques of massage were mediocre. To rub salt in the wound, they handed me back my receipt because I "forgot" to put a tip which put me in an uncomfortable position so I just handed them a $20 bill, they then proceeded to just stare at me and not say anything like they were expecting me to give them more.
