They also have a "no cell phone use on speaker" signage so I appreciate the respect that you don't have to listen to someone's else on the phone. What surprised me was that a $35 pedicure and an additional $10 for polish to last 7-14 days (which most do) from start to finish was 23 minutes! I appreciate thorough but this may have been a drive through pedicure. No foot massage just a quick calf to ankle - no cleaning under nail (mine are tidy but an attempt would have been appreciated) - a Luke warm towel - need to find a new spot . . . Disappointed . . . After an extended hiatus from wellness nail spa, my fiancé and I decided to take the plunge today in light of tomorrow's engagement photo session. What a change! I started going to this salon about five, six years ago and was disheartened today by the lack of management, the apparent lack of maintenance on the salon its self, and, last but not least, the professionalism of the technicians that helped us today. While I recognize that we should have made appointments for a "couples manicure", none of my cuticles have been pushed back, I have a variety of bubbles, and last but not least, I have already chipped my nail polish. I came here when my other nail salon didn't even acknowledge my presence when I walked in (walk-ins welcome? maybe not). Wellness Nail was able to take me right away and did a fabulous job on my no-chip manicure. Additionally, I had a cracked nail that I wanted to salvage. The technician glued it and painted something over it to secure it. No one has done that before. My old place would just file it down or paint over it. I'm happy that she went the extra mile to save my nail (I realize this is the ultimate non-problem in a world of BIG problems...but if you pay money to have pretty hands, having short nails feels like a waste). Due to a nail bed injury on my thumb, I've been getting one acrylic nail plus either dip or no chip for many years. Today was the first time EVER that I found the experience to be relaxing and enjoyable. My technician was gentle and not rushed. She did everything by hand ... no drill sanding or polishing. The salon was also clean and comfortable, and the protective barriers provided an extra layer of security during COVID. I have to say I'm disappointed by my service here. I went in for a no chip manicure and asked for a simple nail design. I mean it was a zig zag I asked for, literally essentially a "v" on one of my nails. I was told it was "too difficult" but she would try. She did the manicure and then got to the design part and attempted to draw it for 10+ minutes. On one nail. I appreciate the effort but at that point I had been there an hour already and was running late to another appointment. It didn't look good so I asked her to forget about it and just polish it normal. After the manicure I noticed bubbles under the polish like the old polish was never taken off properly and the polish looked thick and goopy. Definitely didn't look like a 40 dollar manicure. When I got home I ended up giving myself the accent nail I had asked for and it took me about 3 minutes to do on myself. Bottom line, it's overpriced and staff is under experienced in my opinion. I've been going here for about 6 weeks now. When the owner, Debbie, is there, all is well. Good customer service, good quality fill-ins and spa pedicure. I had an appointment today and when I arrived the teen-ager sitting at the Reception Desk informs me that 1) Debbie was not in today and 2) I did not have an appointment (Debbie had made the appointment with me herself when I was last in). Now today, mysteriously, I had no appointment and no adult (there are other nail techs just sitting around lounging) seems willing to come and speak with me about the situation. My time and money are valuable...I do not tolerate rude treatment nor poor quality services or products. A good nail shop is really hard to find, and though it may seem like this place is Zen-oriented and customer-focused, they are not---it's only when Debbie, the owner is around. read more

Need to start by saying, that this is probably one of the cutest salons I ever saw. Very pretty. The welcoming is also very nice, but this is about it, with the positiv things. My pedicure was rushed and for $30 (!!) I am expecting way more 'spa' than what I got. The massage was quick and not really noticable. No communication what so ever about how I want my nails and so on. True is, what other reviewers already said, that they also don't talked in there mother language with each other during the service, which is nice. But anyway, I won't be back. I stumbled upon this place after trying literally three other salons that were all busy. I'm glad I did! The decor is really soothing and they play spa-like music which is soothing. They have Netflix movies to watch while you get your nails done which is nice too. My no chip turned out great. I said I wanted white but the color I picked for myself wasn't really the right color. I came here cause I wanted to get my nails done before my vaca, they were close and able to see me on short notice. Salon is cute, although, they didn't win me over with their services the first time & they certainly didn't wow me the 2nd time. My first concern is the level of cleanliness of the instruments and if they disinfect or sterilize them. I didn't see a sterilizer and it unnerves me to see tools just taken out of a drawer. Just my 2 cents. The kicker was that I had a no chip french manicure and pedicure done a couple days before going on vacation. A few days on vacation, I noticed the corner of my thumb had developed bubbles across the white tip and blebs appeared in the middle of many of the other nails. I called them with my concern, they told me to come in when I was back and they would redo it. When I went in, I showed them all the areas. They redid the no-chip french but charged me full price. I reminded her of the situation, to which she responded, "10 days is too long." I reiterated that I was on vacation for the last week and that I had called to discuss as soon as I noticed. She said if it had been before 5-7 days but it was 10. I then asked how long they guarantee their no chip for and she said 2 weeks. I again questioned why I was paying full price. Not sure how that corresponds with a 2 week guarantee. It was clearly a poorly application, not just wear. The conversation kept going around in circles. It's unfortunate, if I had known I was going to have to pay full price all over again I would have given my business to another salon that stands by their product. I won't be back. read more

I have been going here for pedicures for months and left today so upset. I made an appointment for a no chip manicure and am now wishing I hadn't. I have a crack down my nail so when I get my no chip done I always ask the technician to put a silk screen over to strengthen the nail before the polish. The technician didn't know how to do this (I find this strange) so she had some one else do it. During the duration of my manicure the technician made me bleed and was rude. At the end I noticed my nail with the silk screen in it was blotchy and asked for another coat of paint. Long story short it looks terrible and these were my nails for my birthday celebration. I've never paid this much money ($45 because she charged me for fixing my broken nail. I've never had that happen anywhere else.) to have such a terrible outcome. This place is OK. I usually go to Lady's Nails in Palatine, but they aren't open on Sundays. I don't think that Wellness does as good of a job cleaning up my cuticles, and I don't think the manicures are as good overall. They do have a ton of colors to choose from and are fast. read more

Don't waste your money. A pedicure should not be painful! Technician definitely cut my toe and was pretty rough on my cuticles. I have polish on my skin on 3 fingers and bubbles in the polish. They also communicate during the appointment with you to address your needs, and you won't find them on their cell phones or speaking another language (like other nail salons I have visited in the past). Terrible experience. We just moved and I was looking for a new place. I went here with my 2 young daughters and mother on my birthday. When I made the reservation on the phone the person informed me for my birthday I would receive $15 off. All 4 of us began our pedicure at the same time, and as soon as we started another client came in who apparently was a regular. At this time the person doing my pedicure rushed through, skipped many parts of it, and was literally done in 20 min. I paid $30 for a color change that has already chipped. Then when I went to pay the woman informed me the person who took my reservation was new and confused and they would not offer me the $15 off birthday promotion as promised When I complained all the women told me was 'sorry'.
