This is a review for Dr. Crystalin Montgomery who I see as my ND (Naturopathic Doctor) and Jules Dirsa who I see weekly for acupuncture.
I'd never seen a naturopath before seeing Dr. Montgomery and was uncertain about paying out of pocket for an initial visit, but I wanted to try a different approach to chronic anxiety and gastrointestinal issues, and for support for a healthy pregnancy. With her support and suggestions, I've been successful in my third attempt to taper off anti-anxiety meds. From my first visit, it was clear that it was a good investment. Dr. Montgomery had spent a lot of time reviewing past labs and my intake forms, and was a wonderful listener. She walked me through her thinking about how to get more info about what was going on with my body and how to support my health. All her ideas were holistic, pragmatic (considering cost, feasibility, etc.), and systematic (maybe try this first, then this...), and she didn't make any assumptions or take anything for granted. I love that she has a background in both naturopathic medicine and Chinese medicine and integrates those approaches.
I've been seeing Jules weekly throughout my pregnancy and anxiety med taper journey, and I feel confident that our sessions have been crucial in helping me maintain a stable mood, physical comfort, and overall good health during this important time in my life. I've seen at least 5 different acupuncturists in the cities, and probably a dozen or so in my life, and Jules is my favorite in the cities and top two of all time. Not only is he super skilled at his healing craft and generous (affordable community acupuncture is such a gift!) but also warm and caring and particularly knowledgeable about pregnancy. I always look forward to my sessions and feel wonderful afterwards.
Also a shout-out to the front desk staff who are wonderful and warm :) read more
