Or the more cost-effective route was jumping ship to a whole new chiropractor. After researching both independent and well-known chiropractor offices in the greater Sacramento area, I finally settled with "The Joint Chiropractic" in Citrus Heights. Located directly on the corner of Madison Ave/Sunrise Blvd in Citrus Heights, this location has been around since 2017. Many of you already know this but The Joint is a nationwide business and (as of mid-2026), they have over 500 locations across the United States. This can definitely have its ups and downs including available timeslots, reputable/reliable staff, and the interpersonal care with the customers. The primary reason why I signed up was definitely the price as they were offering a $29 new patient special as this included the consultation, exam, and adjustment. However, signing up with that $29 price means that you are obligated to purchase a specific plan for a future visit. Since I was already going 3-4 times a month to my previous chiropractor, I opted for the "Wellness Plan" which costs $89/month for up to 4 visits. I ended up coming here during the morning of Saturday 5/23/2026 at around 10:15am. Since I had scheduled my appointment online for 10:30am (which was initially a walk-in appointment and adjustment), I had no idea how long this was going to take. After checking in and filling out my new patient registration form (through an iPad), I waited in the lobby until I was told by the receptionist that I would be up next. Total time from when I walked in until I was seen was about 30 minutes; not too bad for a Saturday morning. What is quite intriguing and could possibly draw people away is that you can see every patient getting their adjustments. No curtain, no drape, just an open layout which I found to be quite perplexing. I don't know if all locations are like this but my guess is that quite a few new patients might be caught off guard. Once it was my turn to get adjusted, I was seen by the chiropractor, Dr. Robert Jaeger. He had me do a variety of stretches and when it was time for me to get adjusted, he worked my lower back, lower legs, and neck area. He also asked me quite a few questions regarding the types of pains I have experienced. Once he was able to make the right adjustments, I felt quite relieved that he had done an above average job. Once my exam was completed, Dr. Jaeger gave me a rundown of how often I should be going back, in this case several times a month and as I mentioned in the 2nd paragraph, I went with the 4 visits a month for $89. Otherwise, you can pay for one visit for $55 or a 6-visit package (that you can use anytime) for $209. It really comes down to how often your body needs to get adjusted. With that said and done, I am giving "The Joint Chiropractic" in Citrus Heights a respectful four stars. My advice is to come during the less busier times as this would prevent long wait times before you are seen. I also wanted to point out that their hours are quite generous as they are open 6 days a week, Monday through Saturday from 10am-7pm while they are out to lunch from 2-2:45pm. However, if you go a few miles down Sunrise to their Gold River location, they are also open on Sunday. All in all, this place is getting the job done and at half the price what I was paying before. We will see how things go long term with an updated review!

While I sought chiropractic care to address my specific health needs, my visits left me feeling frustrated, disrespected, and dissatisfied with the overall service and communication. First, I was uncomfortable with repeated mentions of Christianity during the visit. While I understand and respect individual beliefs, such discussions felt unrelated to my care and out of place in a professional healthcare setting. When I expressed discomfort and asked to focus on subluxations and their physiological impacts, I was told to "respect his beliefs" and was encouraged to either discuss this further privately or seek care elsewhere. This response left me feeling unheard and dismissed as a patient. Additionally, the seminar I was required to attend included comments that I found unprofessional and inappropriate. For example, at the beginning of the seminar, Dr. C stated, "If you're looking for pain relief and a good night's sleep, you should just pop a Benadryl and go get yourself a bottle of alcohol because I'm not here just to give you a quick pop and some pain relief." While I understand the analogy, I felt it was poorly timed and set an unprofessional tone for the seminar. Following the seminar, I was placed into an individual room, where I waited for about 10 to 15 minutes without anyone coming in. This lack of attention, especially after a long day at work, added to my frustration. I arrived at 5 PM, sat through an hour-long seminar until 6 PM, and then waited without receiving the care I came for. I also want to address a concern from the prior week: despite having paid for three chiropractic adjustments, I only received two. One of the adjustments was supposed to be included with the consultation and seminar I attended, but I did not receive it. This discrepancy left me feeling dissatisfied with the scheduling and communication regarding services. Furthermore, during my previous two appointments, the doctor was consistently late by 5 to 10 minutes despite my appointments being scheduled for specific times. While I understand occasional delays, this consistent lateness felt disrespectful of my time. I am providing this feedback with the hope that it can help improve your practice and patient care. I value chiropractic care and believe it plays an important role in health, but I felt my experience fell short of professional expectations.

I can not say enough great things about Fowers Chiropractic!!!…read more In August I was rear-ended by a drunk driver. This accident resulted in sever pain to the right side of my neck, shoulders, and back. On top of this I had daily headaches and was waking up multiple times a night in pain from my neck. After about a month of this, I decided I should try out chiropractic care for the first time. I finally went on yelp and luckily found Dr. Fowers. Dr. Fowers worked with my schedule to get me in as much as possible early on to jump start my treatment. Her method was very surprising to me and I was skeptical at first, but after a few visits I started seeing improvements. Dr. Fowers does not do the typical cracking we think of when we think of a chiropractor. Her adjustments seem subtle, but they are direct and effective! The office also had an amazing laser technology that aided in my recovery and reduced my pain. Today I had a reassessment and my results were awesome. I have almost completely recovered to pre-accident. I no longer have daily headaches, and I sleep through the night and wake up without the pain I used to feel! Thank you Fowers Chiropractic!

I too was desperate and signed up for a six month "Neuropathy Program" for $4800. I was led to believe that this would be six months and include both treatment and supplements. I ran out of supplements after 60 days and was told I had to pay over $200+ for the next 60 days. When I questioned the "neuropathy program" they were unable to tell what it entailed. After finally figuring out that it was approximately 30 visits and only 60 days worth of proprietary supplements sold only to doctors. So I did the math and it turns out for the 35+\- minutes of in office treatment, EACH visit was approximately $100.+ After sharing my experience with my firefighter brother-in-law, (who deals with a lot of pain) he told me about Planet Fitness Black card that includes a spa section that has all the same Red Light Therapy, hydromassage tables, massage chairs and also hybrid red light that includes tanning. It also includes the entire use of the gym and even a trainer if you choose (I am not sure how that works since I am not using a trainer) BUT ALL FOR for $35 per MONTH, which equals about $210 for six months. (Not$4800)* *(Join Planet Fitness for just $1 down when you use my exclusive link! https://www.planetfitness.com/referrals?referralCode=Y82UM7NW.) ** As far as the supplements go, get the best B complex, magnesium and take about 2000 times the recommended daily allowance of vitamin C. BTW...So I didn't go crazy about how much I was charged by this neuropathy specialist. I am having to chalk it up to experience and the old saying is true things, "if you want it done right do it yourself" **... I am not a employee of Planet Fitness. I just think people that are in as much pain as I am need this information.
