Back in 2017 was experiencing a lot of tension due to having lost my father and having my mother in a nursing home in hospice and was searching for massage therapy. I went in thinking I was getting a massage but instead received somatic therapy with even being touched yet I left there light as a feather. I recently went back in 2024 because prednisone use for RA flare ups was making my nervous system overact and Amy Completely reset me. Here we are in 2026 and I'm planning to go back to her. I highly recommend Amy. read more

Amy has dedicated the last two decades to addressing and resolving pain in both Mind and Body. Her work assisting SE creator Peter Levine over the past few years has brought her and her clients (including me) to the next level of resolution and re-emergence with Somatic Experiencing which is the least traumatizing and for me the fastest process to really restore the nervous system to pre-trauma homeostasis. "I feel like my best self again." is what I've told friends after working with Amy. read more

Amy is an incredible therapist. She's helped me in so many surprising ways over the last few years. Though she specializes in somatic therapy, she seems to have an infinite set of tools, and has an uncanny way of pulling exactly the right out at the right time. She's given me new ways of seeing and feeling and understanding myself that I'm constly using throughout the day to thrive. I'm really grateful for the time I've had with Amy. read more

I've reviewed the Wellness Alchemist in the past with five stars, and wanted to update my experience of this amazing woman. If you are breathing, go see Amy. Even though she specializes in somatic experiencing, she is trained in so many different modalities and is able to tune in to you as a person, so she can zoom in on your issues without you even opening your mouth! I highly recommend her. I had another treatment today for something very specific and I can feel it working already!!!!! I couldn't recommend Amy any higher and I am a very tough customer, believe me. Do it today... Do it for you... Life's too short not to be happy... She can help you! read more

Wow! Deep healing is possible ! When I first met Amy I was a wreck. Intense anxiety, shame you name it ! Had a intense daily routine to just keep sane that didn't even help that much which was meditation, yoga, running, cold showers, strict diet etc etc. I was still a mess ! Then I found Dr Peter Levine's work and was took off my feet, at last healing at a deep level at the nervous system. Found amy, and let me tell you it works! Just after 1 session my shame almost vanished ? As with more sessions each time a new normal is created. Highly recommend amy a great practitioner of somatic experiencing. read more

I was skeptical that somatic experiencing sessions could be effective remotely, but I took a chance with Amy. Sessions have been effective and somatically supportive during these turbulent times. Amy is incredibly present, insightful and has a dynamic range of somatic tools. I highly recommend working with Amy if your aim is a deeper sense of integration and healing. read more

Working with Amy has been life-changing for me, and my family. All four of us have been receiving treatments from Amy for some time. Since the start, Amy has been welcoming, kind and incredibly insightful. She will ask questions or say things (at times) that I would be thinking or feeling in the moment. She is uniquely equipped with an abundance of empathy, understanding and intuition. Add that to her 20 + years of formal training in Somatic healing and other modalities, and guess what? Healing happens! So much healing has happened in working with Amy! We are all healing. Her somatic healing techniques are so relaxing, and feel so good! I have never been to any therapist, where the treatment was simply relaxing and just feels good! Amy's work produces results! The beauty of Amy's work is that I can go to her, have her work on me, and leave feeling like i have just spent the day in the spa. I leave feeling relaxed and calm. Yet, I know that I just got WAY more than a "feel good spa treatment." My anxiety and depression are lifting and leaving my body with every session I have with Amy. Thank you Amy! I have also done sessions viz Zoom, and although I don't get the "physical touch" when working via computer, I still end the session feeling calm, good, and uplifted. Each session restores me. Each session invigorates me. And each session is a gift from God that leaves me feeling calm, and more connected to myself than prior to the session! I highly recommend Amy! read more

I have experienced with Amy in both a group setting and on an individual basis. I didn't truly understand somatic therapy or the profound benefits until I met her. It's really helped me both physically and mentally and she has given me great tools to implement in every day life. Highly recommend! read more

It is difficult to describe what a single session with Amy is like because each session feels so uniquely tailored to what my mind and body need at that moment. She pulls from a lifetime of study, including somatic experience, so while the exact healing "technique" may be different from session to session, what's consistent is that I ALWAYS leave feeling better than when I come in, with new insights and a more positive attitude. Above all, she is amazing at calming the nervous system and guiding to focus on the positive. She is extremely unassuming and nonjudgemental, adamant about feeling safe and moving gently so as to not rattle an already overstimulated nervous system. She clearly practices what she preaches in her own life, and it reflects in her admirably calm, level headed and joyous demeanor. Some sessions, the somatic work feels subtle and light, other days it feels powerful and intense, but overall, I have continuously seen improvements in my day to day life. Since I have started working with her, I have not only clarified a new career path, but I have seen improvements in setting boundaries, calming overall anxiety, healing codependency tendencies and A.D.D. I am SO grateful to have her in my support system, and I cannot recommend her enough! read more

Amy is a world class healer, teacher and leader. I've been to a lot of gifted healers over the decades but Amy is ASTONISHINGLY effective. I've had the great privilege of being in one of marvelous monthly groups, and a recipient of her extraordinary individual sessions. Whether you meet with her in a group or individually, Amy is remarkably gifted at rewiring one's thoughts, physiology and body. Being in her presence is uplifting and healing alone. She has walked the path herself, studied rigorously with the cutting edge world experts on healing, and is incredibly & innately gifted. Amy has found an exquisite blend of how to help others transform rapidly. Attending her monthly group this year (I never miss one) has been the absolute favorite and most powerful time I've invested along my personal and professional journey. She was also the lead assistant of the Somatic Experiencing Training I've attended the last two years. Amy is deeply committed to helping others evolve and become their most radiant, best and freest self. I very highly and most enthusiastically recommend Amy. She is such a gift to us all, a powerful vessel for love, and here to help transform our world. Elaine Huang, MSW, MA read more

Amy is great! I've worked with her extensively for the last few years sometimes twice a week. We've done energy healing sessions in person and remote via virtual sessions (zoom/skype). Both are equally powerful. Her somatic healing has been incredibly helpful for my well-being and managing my stress / anxiety. I could not recommend her more as an intuitive energy healer. And have recommended several friends to experience her special touch. read more

I'm hesitant to write my review about Amy because she is a true hidden gem - Once news of her gets out, I may never be able to book an appointment again! I was excited to book an appointment with Amy after reading all her stellar reviews. She literally exceeded every expectation I had. Amy has a true gift... She's not just a massage therapist, she is a true healer in every sense of the word. Her level of intuition, awareness, and a sweet gentleness and wisdom is something I'm still processing. Magical things happen during her massages. Here's just one example: Prior to my last massage with Amy, I'd been dealing with an irritating legal issue that had been irking me for well over two weeks. Amy noticed a "tight blockage" in one area of my shoulder and spent a majority of our massage session working it out. Humming, breathing, and coaxing it into a relaxed, accepting state of existence. Immediately when the session ended, I received notification that the legal issue had been completely lifted. Coincidence? Maybe. Something more? More likely, since it has happened more than once. Amy's massages are stellar, and going to see her is rejuvenating for the entire body, soul, spirit, and mind. She works out of her place in a comfortable, serene environment twinkling with crystals with several sweet cats that wander out and about. Don't just walk, RUN to Amy's and be ready for miracles to happen in your life as a result! read more

One of the best things that I've ever done in my life was booking an appointment with Amy. I've been seeing her for 3 months already and my life has changed so much since then. Amy truly does have a wonderful gift and heals your mind, body and soul. Every session with her is a new step towards releasing all the pain of your past and creating a new, healthy, happy, joyful you. The first time I saw Amy I knew right away that she's the person I can trust my deepest concerns, doubts and issues. She is one of the most loving, kind, caring, inspiring people I've ever met.And the fact that she is always on the path of spiritual and educational growth makes her an absolutely amazing practitioner. Amy truly makes magical changes in people's lives. read more

WOW. This session completely blew me away. I read her blog and it really spoke to me so I booked an appt. She got back to me right away. As a reiki practitioner, I have participated in all kinds of healing modalities/energy work and AMY IS NEXT LEVEL. We did the session in her home. At one point I thought she was playing a singing bowl next to my head and it was HER. She was singing. This session was awesome. Amy is otherworldly. Highly recommend. read more

Besides the local happening hang out, I always seek a massage therapist to feel settled into a new environment. I might just have found that person in Amy. Her strength and comprehensive understanding of the body gave me the relief I sought. Plus, we were able to talk about some of the more spiritual elements of body work. This is a very custom massage, so definitely worth a session to experience for yourself! read more

Amy is a true healer. I met her at her place where she has a room set up for sessions. We discussed what I am looking to achieve and she went to work with her 'magic' hands and breath. Though I cannot exactly explain what she did, I felt lighter and refreshed after the hour session. She has a wide variety of techniques and is very spiritual. I can't wait until my next session! read more

Amy Doublet. Where do I begin? How does one put into words how instrumental, how insightful, how inspiring and how important you have been as a part of my life these last few years? There simply are not enough stars on all of yelp to give to you....you are this amazing woman, person....friend. I found you on yelp and when I came to see you for the first time you found me in a complete state of disrepair. Injury, trauma, pain, overwhelm, despair....a lethal cocktail that had consumed every ounce of me and my ability to function, physically and mentally I had been broken by my reality and how it all had manifested itself in my body and mind. You didn't flinch. I know now because you knew what to do and in a manner that I believe to be rare and quite possibly is just plain unique to you. You are well studied and continue to broaden your toolset, but it is your being, your nature that gives you incredible abilities to impart your knowledge in meaningful, personal ways. You listened to me carefully, patiently, then began to show me the way. You taught me new ways of thinking, seeing, practicing, and "fighting" (my word, never yours) through the work and methods of somatic experiencing. I began to experience my circumstances and the world at large with your eyes, your voice, your guidance, your friendship. How can one individual accomplish what you have done for my life for countless others simultaneously? I have no idea. It is superhuman. I am in awe of you every time I think of you. Sometimes I smile with tears when I think of you. It will sound cliche, as this is the problem with words sometimes, but very true, I do credit you with having saved my life and given me another chance at it. How do I repay that? It is impossible, but I would do anything for you Amy Doublet. read more

Amy is a very special, gifted therapist. She has made a huge difference in my life. Since being in self isolation, I wasn't sure if i could get the same benefits from a remote session, but I was wrong. The remote sessions are truly wonderful and just as beneficial. Plus you can do it from your own bed! Amy is very insightful and will give you the tools you need to help you grow, and address your trauma in a healthy way. Life changing and highly recommended! read more

Whether in person or remote, I cannot recommend Amy enough! I first met with Amy in person, and was nervous to transition our sessions to Zoom due to the social distancing required for Covid 19. However, minutes into our first remote session any fear I had was wiped away. I finish each session feeling calm, rejuvenated and balanced. This is a crazy time and my sessions with Amy provide comfort and guidance. I am eternally grateful to have found Amy and that we are able to continue our work together during these times. read more

Working with Amy is powerful. My anxiety has diminished to the point where I feel like a different person: more spontaneous, more confident, not so afraid to be seen, connecting better and more comfortably with other people! She helped me tune in to my body and release the anxiety and accept and lock in the good feelings that I was not used to having before! Wow! I've done a lot of work on myself in various ways but this helped take me over the edge into the goodness of feeling good! Amy holds a quiet energy that reaches in and transforms you before you know it! Highly recommend! read more

I sought out Amy with the main concern of my chronic back pain. We had one massage therapy session and in that one session, I felt an instant connection and ease with Amy. She mentioned Somatic Trauma Resolution (or STR or Somatic Experiencing) as a therapy source I may want to try. Not knowing at all what I was getting myself into or how it was going to affect me, I decided to jump in and give it a go. The somatic experience process takes patience and awareness but with that comes stunningly effective results. After just a few sessions, I started to feel more grounded when interacting with others. I was more in my body and less in my head and as a result, I was less anxious and more present. In addition to the chronic back pain, I have a chronic tightness in my throat that occurs when I am upset or feeling emotional about something. After a couple months of somatic experience sessions, I am more than ecstatic to say that this tightness that used to occur on a daily basis, has now subsided to a rare if not at all occurrence. Amy and I worked on certain topics in the Somatic sessions and eventually I learned how to be aware enough in my every day life of how my body was reacting to certain things and why. I learned how to track these sensations and emotions and essentially how to become so aware of them that they do not occur as often, if at all anymore. This work also taught me the ability we have to control our thoughts and maintain positive outlooks in day-to-day circumstances. The mind alone is the greatest medicine. With this somatic experience work, I found myself a more enjoyable person to be around and much happier in my day-to-day life. Amy as a practitioner is absolutely amazing. I cannot express enough in words how enlightening, open, caring, loving, kind, powerful, knowledgeable and inspirational she has been in my life. She has been a mentor and a friend. Amy is someone I can trust with my deepest issues and concerns that I know wont judge me. She always offers advice that allows me to think and see things in a way I was missing before. She will truly change your life for the infinite better. See Amy, and you are on your way to a better more fulfilling life. Enjoy! read more

I've been seeing Amy Doublet of Healing Bodywork for over 3 years now, and her massages and energy work are mind-blowingly awesome! She listens, adjusts, and caters each massage to fit my every whim. Never quite satisfied, she is constantly improving herself by taking new classes and getting more certifications. I've had deep tissue, Swedish, cranial sacral (and probably more that I don't know the names of), and she is the absolute best at each and every technique. No matter what your massage/bodywork/energy work needs are, I highly recommend Amy Doublet at Healing Bodywork. She's simply the best! read more

As a person who has been dissociating from their body for a lifetime as a way to cope with complex trauma, chronic pain and "mystery" health issues, integration of my body, mind and spirit sometimes feels impossible for me. That said, whenever I am on Amy's table and her hands are on me, I feel a sense of new possibilities and I am filled with hope. It is an indescribable sense of peace and connection. Amy speaks to the parts of my soul that wholeheartedly wishes to connect safely and entirely to my body so that I can be in greater alignment with my purpose, others and nature. I am looking forward to working with Amy each week as I heal my nervous system and grief-stricken heart. Thank you AMy! read more

I have been going to Amy now for a few years and she is hands down the best massage therapist in LA! She is intuitive and the massage goes much deeper than muscle work- every session is different and equally renewing and healing. She is currently working out of her home which she has converted one room into a healing/massage room- I like the home atmosphere and it's very welcoming and comfortable. Amy has such a wide variety of techniques and she is truly intuitive and has a lovely, nurturing way about her. I would recommend Amy to anyone who not only wants to have a massage for relaxation, but would like to learn more about themselves and go deeper into their spiritual body. You never have to tell her where to go in your body or what to focus on- she will figure it out and you will leave feeling amazed! read more

I had been the victim of an attempted robbery at knifepoint a few months before I first saw Amy. As a result I was completely unable to sleep and pretty much became a nervous wreck in general as my insomnia progressed. My first diagnosis was sleep apnea by one doctor, then depression by another and then finally Post Traumatic Stress Disorder by still another doctor. I had hit rock bottom and out of sheer desperation was getting massages all over town from any massage therapist I could find for temporary relief from the constant state of anxiety that I was feeling. I happened to stumble across Amy's overwhelmingly positive reviews here on Yelp and also noticed that she was a somatic resolution practitioner. I am so glad that I made that first appointment with her and it's no exaggeration to say that it was a life changing experience for me. I knew immediately that there was something special about her and she would become a very significant person on my road to healing. We just talked the first two or three appointments before she did any bodywork on me. Once the bodywork started she used a combination of somatic therapy techniques along with massage. I noticed I felt a little better after each session and was starting to feel a little bit more relaxed and in tune with myself between sessions. After a little over two months of seeing Amy I was able to get a full night's sleep without the aid of any medication whatsoever. Even more importantly I was starting to feel an incredible sense of well-being and calm that I've never felt before and still continue to feel to this day. Amy is so much more than a gifted and talented healer. She's an extremely kind and caring person who makes a difference in people's lives. read more

There is NO WAY words can encapsulate the LIFE-CHANGING work that Amy helps facilitate, nor the brilliance of her spirit as an individual! She is one in a million, and has to be what they call a "lightworker" if not an angel on Earth. (I don't mean this woo-woo; I'm serious!) She was recommended by a very trusted doctor as a "must-see." She is a trauma specialist, SO highly educated in the trauma and healing fields. But above all, her manner was born for this work. She Is SUPER gentle and kind, in such a naturally relaxed state, and she makes you feel so safe and gives the unconditional maternal acceptance/love we all wish we'd gotten (LOL), which is vital to this work actually working. She also walks her own talk, which is a biggee for me. I am profoundly changed from this work, in so many ways. Above all, I am not just feeling but embodying empowerment-- honoring my needs, standing up for myself, being kinder to myself, releasing negative emotions/conditionings. More details... As for her background/training -- She was trained by the founder of Somatic Experiencing, she assists with training others, she's done the NARM program for trauma, she's got a million certifications in the healing/trauma fields and she keeps doing new ones to stay up to date. She is a trauma specialist and particularly great for Type As / left-brainers who need to relax and let go of control, connect with their inner child, reclaim their power. As a person, she is made to do this work-- You couldn't script a better practitioner. She is so gentle, kind, patient, gentle, non-judgmental, supportive, and did I say gentle?. But really, so much of this work is about feeling safe... safe enough to open up and be vulnerable to even begin to do the work. As for the process -- I don't know how to describe her work, because in a sense it's (purposefully) beyond the abilities of the limited mind to explain or understand... It's really about going beyond the mind and connecting with your nervous system, your body, your neurological wiring. (In fact, I knew there was something to it the very first time I saw her. Coming in skeptical and knowing nothing of her, she had me make what seemed like a totally simple sound in a certain way, and I instantly inexplicably started crying.) There's no agenda; she's about the body's wisdom knowing where to take you, and it really does! She also brings in lots of other modalities and healing tools as it's appropriate. And she readily teaches you. She's not about creating dependence; she wants you to spread your wings and fly on your own. As for results -- (Note: I have an extreme trauma history, so you probably shouldn't judge based on me.) I came to her for health problems, but came to see how intrinsically connected my trauma history and emotions are connected with it all, and how healing my health may be predicated on first healing that. It took a long time to see physical improvements and it still can be rocky, and because I'm also doing other modalities one never knows how much each contributes, but I am sure to my bones that this work has been instrumental in my physical gains. Perhaps the biggest gain is that, for the most part, I haven't slipped into big health setbacks, even when a physical or emotional stimulus happened that would've pushed me into crisis in the past. And I'm more at peace with not having the health I'd like in this moment at least, rather than being in resistance energy. On the psycho/emotional side, at its core, the work has been about empowering me--connecting me back with my true power and self-compassion, which we're all born with but often gets beat out of us through conditioning, trauma, etc. A big part of that has been feeling safe to express and let go of the anger that got stuck in my system. For the first time, my self-damaging, self-limiting patterns, fear and the like are dropping away on their own, without my conscious work to change them. These are patterns and qualities that I tried to fix through many other ways, for many years, including years of therapy, so it's quite remarkable. On the flipside, I am reclaiming the natural joy and full spirit I always had inside, and (as a recovering pessimist) I'm surprised at how much more positive and resilient I've become. Someone here put it best--there are not enough stars on Yelp to give her! read more

This lady is incredible! I've had a couple of sessions in person, but what really impressed and amazed me was the distance healing session Amy did for me. Amy is more than a massage therapist - she is a born healer. Her gifts of perception are beyond incredible - she is truly gifted at massage therapy, polarity therapy, and uses those gifts to elevate the craft of healing to its highest art form. I have seen Amy regularly over the past five years as a result of her amazing work while my back and neck were recovering from injuries sustained in a car accident. Since, she taught me to how to stretch properly to relieve the tension that drives me to massage therapy in the first place -- and we came up with a plan to get me healthy and healed [THAT WORKED!] together. I continued to see Amy for sports/deep-tissue, and then for polarity therapy. Her deep tissue work has kept me athletically fit and competitive, and her polarity work has opened avenues for my creativity that I might have otherwise missed. I cannot say enough good things about her talent and her integrity -- Amy is the best! read more
