Run, and quickly for the hills. I usually don't write reviews and apparently...few people in Dublin do either seeing as how I am the first review here (or at least on Yelp) but I digress. I was recommended by a colleague to go to this clinic for my annual smear and STI screening, and with a user-friendly website and personnel that actually answer the phone (yes, the bar is now that low for Dublin given all my bad customer experiences) I was more than willing to pay the 100-150euros for the visit. I'll admit I was about 10-15mins late but the clinic was able to fit me in...and that's where the pros end!
1. Bloodwork EPIC Fail: I had blood drawn...and that was a horror. The doctor apparently didn't know what she was doing, I say this because she was unable to get my veins and tried but failed not once, not twice but THREE times. It was only on the fourth time with a nurse present that blood was finally drawn for tests to be done. Really? By the time they were finished I was in a fit of tears! Btw, I had blood drawn at my GP and this was not an issue, nor has this EVER been an issue the countless other times I've had bloodwork done on my over two decades on this earth.
2. Smear: Never have I ever had a smear done without the stirrups for your feet, which personally I think makes this cervical smear process easier but whatever. Also, no gown was provided...again fine...but the experience was quite painful and that is something I have never experienced and it took quite awhile to get done. And three weeks later, lo and behold, what do I get in the mail? I get a bloody letter telling my results are inconclusive and I need to get the smear again. No, well woman clinic, not with you! Never has this happened to me before and again I've done this countless times.
3. RESULTS: Perhaps, this is the most important part of the review. I was told that my results would be sent in to me in approximately two weeks. Okay...fine. Two and a half weeks later no results. So I call...a bit disgruntled but whatever...sometimes thinks work slowly depending upon where in the world you are, I accept this. After providing basic biographical details to confirm identification, the receptionist tells me they sent my results a week ago. Well I must be mad because I surely did not get them! She reads me the email address and wouldn't you know they sent my personal medical results from my tests to the WRONG EMAIL ADDRESS!!
That was strike three. Honestly, some random person has my results and confidential details. I literally can't. Oh and to add insult to injury when I asked to be screened for every STI under the sun, why is it when I got my results back I noticed one or more STI not having been screened for? So again... I call a second time querying this issue. The receptionist says they only screen for one of the STIs I mentioned if you have symptoms.. Oh, okay..is that so? WELL THEN BLOODY SAY THAT ON THE WEBSITE! Or have the courtesy and decency to tell your patients that BEFORE they pay or while in the office.
Again I say...run, run for the hills and go somewhere else. Don't be fooled by the website like I was. You've been warned. read more
