I'd give zero stars if I could. My husband and I hired Mike and his cronies last year to do our deck. He needed to rip out the old wooden structure, secure joists, and replace water damaged planks with new planks. He was the supposed to install treks, paint the railings, install a new concrete walkway and lay down new sod. I knew something was off when DAY one he and his cronies showed up over an hour late. I had to call to inquire about his wear abouts. As the days went on, I was told there would be 2-3 guys working in my deck at a time to complete it quickly. Nope, it was just one guy, who was on his phone the whole day (I watched the footage from our camera). As time went on the deck was installed, concrete was complete, they had to install the sod as promised. Mike and his cronies installed 3/4 of the sod and then disappeared for almost two weeks. At this point he was given his money in full and just needed to get more sod, so I was very confused as to why he never came back. After I left a horrible review on Home Adviser, he called. He asked for me to change the review and they'll come back. I removed the review all together and my grass was installed. Less than a year later my deck is buckling, and the grass died. I've called and texted Mike and I was given the run around. I was told someone would come by, I was told someone would call, I was told he was in Texas for a family emergency, blah blah blah. HORRIBLE.... Please look up this company before doing any work with them. Had I done so I would have avoided all the headaches I have with them. Mike is not capable of the work he says he can do. He takes short cuts and lies about everything. He is full of excuses and is a crook. Something that was suppose to take 5 days to complete has lasted 3 months and it was not finished. Kept asking for money and disappeared. Would not show up when he said he would. Never worked a complete week. If we were lucky he probably showed up three times in a span of two weeks. Always had an excuse and couldn't deliver on his word, ever! Please stay away from this company. He doesn't know how to do a retaining wall, doesn't know how to lay pavers, destroyed all my surrounding grass which is another expense I have to take on to get my lawn reseeded. I had to pay another company to redo it because what little work he did had to be done over or my basement would flood because of how he prepared the ground. Not only did he fill the retaining wall with soil (instead of stone as professionals do) he glued the paver caps on upside down. Some were even damaged and maybe he thought we wouldn't notice. The wall was not even and the pavers were not leveled either. They were moving around and not in line with the steps so there was a gap that was a trip hazard. DO NOT HIRE THESE PEOPLE. WATCH OUT, THEY ARE A FRAUD Mike who claims to be one of the owners is a thief. He came out last week and gave me an estimate to do some work on the outside which included fixing the steps, and repaving the driveway. The estimate started at $14,000 and soon grew into a $23,000 estimate. They were supposed to start the job on the second week in August of 2019 but they never showed when they were supposed to. They finally showed up a week later to start the demolition of the driveway. They would show up to work one day out of the entire week and not come back until a week later. In the middle of all that, there was no communication from anyone. I spend hours and days calling the owner only for him to have a lame excuse for not calling or having anyone show up at the house. As they continue to work, Mike would call and ask for more money to buy materials and insist that I help him out since he needed the money to order materials. The project which then included sealing off the entire house foundation, paving the entire the side of the house, demolishing the driveway and putting up a new one and fixing the front steps and replacing the railing. The project was originally estimated to take 2-3 weeks to complete. After paying them almost the entire amount in cash approx. $20,500; the job was never completed and they stopped showing up and answering my phone calls and text messages. I managed to get ahold of Mike again around March and he promised to come back once the state opened up to complete the job and fix the pavements cracks that showed up less than a month after he put up new concrete. I contacted Mike as soon as I heard that contractors are able to resume working as a result of COVID-19. He kept ignoring my calls for an entire week and finally called back to let me know that he is going to send his subcontractor to work on my steps on Friday June 26th. I called him on Thursday to confirm that they were still coming and he promised that they will be there the next day. No one ever showed up to the house and I called Mike a few times to find out why no one showed up. My phone calls and text messages remain unanswered.
