I've lived in LA for 5 years. I love Thai food. Mee Dee is one of my two favorite spots. I…read moreregularly drive 20ish minutes to hit this place. Personally, I'm obsessed with the Lamb Shank Massaman Curry and Pad Thai. The curry might be the best in the city. It was kind of funny -- I was already thinking that, and the father of the family next to my brother and me said the same thing to his wife. And the Pad Thai? Super thin, almost angel hair pasta-like noodles. SUPER. GOOD. I've never had anything from here I didn't think was exceptional. And this is definitely the only Thai spot I feel that way about. Only minor knock: I picked up my Pad Thai today through GrubHub and the interaction was a little odd. The owner, I assume, wasn't friendly, and my order wouldn't pull up on GrubHub, which is on me. He's probably used to delivery service drivers, but still, ask human beings "How are you doing?" before interrogating them. TLDR: the food is amazing. GO!!!

For dessert we ordered mango sticky rice. I would definitely like to try this place in person - but overall takeout was good, typical Thai food. I do think the spice levels could be more intense - I feel like it's hard to gage spice intensity because it varies from place to place. But I can say the medium here was not spicy at all, just a heads up for my spice lovers!! Don't be shy with the levels! Parking does seem to be only metered street parking from my experience picking up.

The food is flavorful and filling and the staff is friendly too! The crispy chicken with garlic rice is so delicious! The curries and noodles are excellent too! I ordered takeout and got the pad kra pao (spicy), papaya salad (Thai spicy), crab fried rice, and green curry. Unfortunately, the spice levels weren't even close to what I ordered. The kra pao had two dried chilies but no Thai chilies at all and essentially no heat. The "Thai spicy" papaya salad had zero chilies and zero spice. I travel to Thailand for work multiple times a year and absolutely love Thai food. What I love about Thai cuisine isn't simply that it can be spicy ...it's the balance of heat, salt, acid, sweetness, and all those incredible flavors together. I completely understand restaurants adjusting spice levels for different customers, but if you specifically ask customers to choose a spice level, including "Thai spicy," why offer the option if you aren't going to prepare it that way? The papaya salad was also incredibly sweet and lacked the balance I remember from TTT. I ended up having to add dried Thai chilies from my cupboard to both dishes, plus additional fish sauce, lime, and chili to the papaya salad just to balance it out. I'm giving 3 stars because the crab fried rice is always on point and I requested prik nam pla on the side and they did provide it, which I appreciated. The green curry was also fine (added dry chili). What makes this especially disappointing is that TTT used to be so consistently on point and authentic. I would have written this off as a one-off bad order, but unfortunately my last two orders have been similar. I really hope they get back to what made this place one of my favorites, because I'd love to be able to give them 5 stars again.

Once again, the food was absolutely delicious and did not disappoint! Everything was full of flavor and well worth the trip. Don't forget to try their delicious Thai tea, and make sure to save room for the amazing mango sticky rice for dessert! It's a must-try! We're so glad we came back for another visit. If you're in Los Angeles and craving delicious Thai food, I highly recommend Hae Ha Thai Bistro. We'll definitely be returning!

My wife and I came for my birthday outing (she surprised me). Thai is always a "go to" and when we hit LA it's food time. The appetizer set the tone - crab wontons (ummmm - yeah I'm no food geography expert but I imagine they didn't originate in Thailand but who cares they rock!) My wife said probably the best she has ever had - crispy, creamy, actual crab sightings in the filling - loved it. Green curry - loaded with ingredients and aromatic and enticing. Eggplant, bamboo shoots lots of meat, veggies - and the curry underneath was loaded with flavor. Medium spice hit just right (I can handle Thai hot but I am taking it easy ok??) Drunken noodles - but an udon version? Let's try it - loved it! Again - plentiful meat, basil fragrance wafting to my nostrils, spicy sweet and savory blended sauce - fantastic. Verdict? Solid 5 on all hands. Service, ambience, food, value... You won't be sorry.
