Walking into the reception area, experienced easy check-in and quick filling up of the new patient paperwork. Did notice that the waiting room did not have any self-beverage amenities like water or coffee or tea (which is why have reduced a star) but the seats were so comfy, I actually had a little snooze! My appointment time was 1:30 and I was called in within 5 mins of that time, so they were fairly prompt. The nurse who took my blood pressure and explained the process was a wonderful person by the name of Patty and she was AWESOME! What impressed me the most was that she explained everything so well, and she probably has to run thru this same spiel umpteen times a day, but honestly you wouldn't know that cause she was so attentive! After the consult and the options were explained to me, I made a decision on the procedure, and was straightaway next directed to the office Mgr for payment. Then went back to the waiting room and was called a few minutes later and headed into surgery. My actual surgery was so quick and painless! I was honestly amazed at the dexterity with which Dr Garfinkel removed the tooth, I couldn't believe it was all done in 5 minutes! Patty then gave me detailed post-op instructions and 2.5 hours later I was headed home. Before undergoing surgery, I simply wanted to understand what my financial responsibility would be so I could prepare accordingly. I asked reasonable questions about the consultation fee, whether my existing X-rays could be used, and what I could expect to pay out of pocket. Instead of receiving clear and professional answers, I was met with rude and dismissive communication. When I was transferred to the office manager, the information remained vague and inconsistent. What made the situation even more frustrating was that my referring dentist had already completed a consultation and taken the necessary X-rays. After speaking with my dentist, I was informed that it is common practice to waive duplicate consultation fees in situations like mine and to utilize existing X-rays when appropriate. Yet this office could not provide a straightforward explanation of why additional charges were necessary. The most shocking part was that after continuing to ask basic questions about costs and billing, my appointment was canceled. Apparently, wanting transparency about the cost of a surgical procedure was enough reason to deny care. As a patient, I believe I have every right to understand my financial obligations before agreeing to treatment. Transparency, communication, and professionalism should be the foundation of any healthcare practice. Instead, I experienced poor customer service, a lack of accountability, and what felt like punishment for asking reasonable questions. If this is how potential patients are treated before they even walk through the door, it raises serious concerns about how they are treated afterward. Being denied an appointment for asking what a surgery would cost is not just unprofessional, it's a major red flag. Patients deserve transparency, clear answers, and respect when making important healthcare and financial decisions. However, after he pulled 7 teeth within 10 minutes and rushed me out of his office, without property sedating me, I was miserable. He gave me 8 pills to help with pain which I took the first night, as the nurse told me to do if it was that bad. The day after I still had horrible bleeding, and ended up going to the hospital after I went into see him and he treated me like a junkie, barely looked at my mouth. The hospital ended up fixing my stitches and some of the work he did where he sawed down too much bone. I would NEVER wish anyone his butchering.

My dentist gave me a referral to Dr Whitman because I was in quite a bit of pain from bits of bone that had poked through my gum tissue. When I arrived the front desk staff was very friendly and they told me I would be seen shortly. They run so efficiently and in no time I was back with the Doctors assistant and then the Dr. came in assured me that the procedure to remove the torus was pretty straightforward. I scheduled the procedure and it went smoothly and recovery was not bad at all, within two weeks I was back to a regular diet and couldn't be more happy with the results. His staff went above and beyond in accommodating all my questions and requests including a last minute script change. Dr. Azizi was also super kind and met with me in the lobby before the surgery. I got all four wisdom teeth pulled, including two that were impacted under other teeth, and it took about an hour, including getting me hooked up to the iv. I'm a day out and the swelling is almost completely gone and just in mild discomfort (with the use of just Naproxen!). Truly the best experience I could have imagined, especially as someone who was terrified and put this surgery off for far too long. I'm excited to finally have this checked off my to do list. The new Lake Mary office is fabulous too!

She also listened to me - I didnt want the pumice tooth cleaning done, just the tartar removal and the floss, and so I only got the services I wanted. My poor grandmother broke off a crown last night. I explained all of this but when it came to…read moreinsurance I was told they don't take Medicare or Medicaid but they will give you your own paperwork to fill out. I said I wasn't familiar with this process bc it wasn't an appointment for me. This was during the first phone call with John. I told I'd talk it over with my grandmother and call back. This goes out to JOHN who answered my call the 2nd time. I inquired about how much it would cost (an estimate). He said " How much water is in my truck right now?" I said what? He repeated that 3 times and said there was no way to know. I then said well we could estimate X-rays, crown work, doctor appt cost, etc. John then yelled at me and told me to STOP TALKING. When I said wow, he HUNG UP! If I could give zero stars I would. Warning others not to go here. I'm livid.
