Sent email explaining trouble for deliveries. Got a call was not home, so called next morning to…read moreask for someone specific. I called, got a woman and asked for the person on the voicemail. The woman NOT the one I was supposed to get, started yelling at me why I didn't answer the phone the day before about getting delivery. (I do NOT have a cell phone and I think this (they) person thought I did. I was a bit ruffled at getting yelled at. I proceeded to say (and I bet nobody HEARD what I said) only this woman. I said I have LIFE TO LIVE, I have to grocery shop, doctors appointments and other things to do. NOW that is what I said and unless it was on speakerphone NOBODY else heard this. Her response in a nasty tone was.... THIS IS GOING TO BE A PROBLEM. So I hung up. Why? I said I HAVE LIFE TO LIVE and she was telling me that WAS GOING TO BE A PROBLEM. I never, NEVER expected a HEALTH CARE PROFESSIONAL to tell someone that my LIFE WAS A PROBLEM. i am disabled and have problems moving around. This is how they treat disabled people? The list of medications would give a picture of what ailments I have but that did not matter. I tried to make sure by email that we could all be on the same page. This did not matter to that woman. She yelled at me. She said my life did not matter. It is more important getting my medications than it is for me to live. How unwarranted. How sick. Also has ANYONE heard that delivery of medication is done each and every time a prescription is filled? The very first day they delivered they tried to deliver TWICE, to me once and to Denise once. In other words, I guess their policy is once they fill a med, they deliver it. Exactly how can someone be HOME all day waiting for meds? That is why I sent the email. To get them to accumulate both mine and Denise's meds into one delivery day, a day that both they and we agreed upon. That would have been fine until I got the woman who said delivery is MORE IMPORTANT THEN LIVING MY LIFE. How sad for that woman when she yells at a customer and tells them their life is not important. Maybe you will have better luck?

The folks behind the counter at Esterbrook are very cold and nasty. I've shopped there a few times…read moreand they act like they don't want to answer questions or ring up my sales. What really soured me was an incident during the height of the COVID pandemic. My friend got the COVID vaccine at Esterbrook when it was very hard to get. She was just there picking up a Rx and asked if they were giving it. Though the official answer was no, the pharmacy called her later that day to come over and get the vaccine since they had leftover that they'd have to otherwise toss. They even called her a few times after that and allowed her husband and adult children (who were not eligible at the time) to get it. My friend suggested I call them since I live just a few blocks away. I called and asked if I could get the shot should they have leftover vaccines at the end of the day. The answer was a hard NO and they refused to put me on a waiting list although they offered that alternative to my friend. I was surprised and disappointed to find this pharmacy is affiliated with West Reading Drugstore. Disappointed because two stores with the same owner could be so drastically different. I love West Reading Drugstore. The staff and pharmacists there are so friendly and helpful. I feel valued and look forward to returning. My sister comes to visit from the Midwest and she loves to go there whenever she's in town. I won't shop at Esterbrook any more.

The less than enthusiastic clerk at the window told me I needed to come inside (I love been here before ) why do I need to come inside? Her response was because you need to come inside. Once inside, I waited in line 20 minutes, and needing a bathroom. I asked if there was a bathroom that I could use. The young man at the counter told me I needed to ask someone upfront if I could use the restroom. Well, how about I just get my meds and run home and pray everything stays where it should be? I only live a few minutes down the road. When it was my turn in line, I got my prescription and was leaving, it was then I realized there was only ONE of my two prescriptions in the bag. I had to return, and wait in line yet again. the pharmacist told me they didn't have my prescription. I had just left my doctors office and they had sent it over electronically. (You had this one, why would they not send both?) I was there when they did it. They told me it was done before I left. Then I had to call them again and ask them to call back to the pharmacy to have it put through. Once that was done, I had to wait for them to fill it. All the while, needing to utilize the restroom. I was sick & could barely hold myself up, I had a fever and was nauseous. Eventually, we got it all hammered out. But the young Spanish girl, the window really needs to learn a little bit of compassion and to speak politely to people. If you don't have an answer, find someone who can give us one. Not just because you have to come inside. I hope when she's feeling like that, she actually craps her pants. I got really lucky that I didn't.!

It was a Saturday so the CVS pharmacist said he'd contact the original pharmacy the following Monday to have it transferred. 5 days later I got a message from the CVS pharmacist saying he transferred the RX. Two days later I went to get it...CVS had no record of it. The pharmacist who 'handled' it wasn't in so an employee took my name and info and said the pharmacist would call me the following Monday when he returned to work. No call ever came. Went back to the pharmacy to see if it had been filled. Nope. No record of it. This time, the pharmacist who was 'handling' it was there. And he completely changed his story and claimed the original pharmacy never transferred it despite the VM I have from him saying they had. He then said I needed a whole new prescription and sent a message to my family MD. I informed him my family MD wasn't the prescribing MD which he ignored. Didn't matter anyway...it turns out, he lied about contacting my family MD for a new prescription. I've now gone 3+ WEEKS without medication. (Have to use CVS per health insurance) The RX is only for a prescription vitamin with iron but it was prescribed due to a severe C Diff infection I had (and was hospitalized for for nearly 4 weeks) which can be fatal, especially to colon cancer patients like me. This pharmacist is a liar, doesn't do his job and literally plays with people's lives. Don't go here, its not worth your health and safety! BTW...the store is filthy as well.
