DON'T MISS SUSHI WEDNESDAY! This was my "home" Giant for many years. It may not be the best supermarket I have ever visited, but it is definitely your best option in Berks County. With no Whole Foods, Wegman's, or Sprouts - this is the go to place for produce and prepped food. The real highlight of Giant is half-priced sushi on Wednesdays. There are limited Sushi options out here and I truly believe that Giant probably the best, especially if you factor in price. DO YOUR PART GIANT! Giant obviously doesn't care about the environment. Look at the absurd receipts!! At least give us an option to NOT print it if we don't want. Boycott Giant until they stop with the wasteful receipts and start doing their part. Also, maybe try a little harder. Your stores are managed and staffed by basically zombies. UPDATE; Giant's website wouldn't let me contact them. Typed it up two different times in there "Contact Us" section and was unable to submit it either time . Clearly they're not interested in customer service AT ALL. They're crooks!! Hershey bars were in the Halloween Candy marked half price so I bought two bags. I thought they'd be good for s'mores. Of course they didn't scan half price (I was using the little gun thingy) but everything matched the sign so I figured it would come off at the register. NOPE! I asked for help. Associate told me "No, you're wrong." I walked her to the display and showed her the sign AND matching description. "No, you're wrong these don't belong here." And she proceeded to RIP APART THE DISPLAY right in front of me. "You can't have it for that price. Do you want it or not?" I didn't want to buy anything at that point but dinner was in the bags. I had her take the candy off the order. All this over a $5 bag of candy being sold for $2.50. The customer service desk just spewed out some excuses and then asked if i wanted a manager. I just walked away. It was absolutely the most bat-shit crazy thing I've experienced in a long time, and I'm a teacher. Their pricing is CONSTANTLY wrong. I've put up with it but this is the last straw. Whichever way you slice it, this is false advertising and they do it all the time. I'm diligent and usually catch their blunders but how many people do they ripoff on the daily? Shame, shame, shame. Too many grocery stores in my area to put up with that bs. Can there be less than one star? When u run a place as big as Giant and your margins are as thin as a grocery store... Went here just to pick up a few things the other day. Found everything I needed for a meal I made, plus a couple things I didn't expect to find. Prices seemed to be pretty consistent with other local grocery stores, but they also had a large selection of ethnic foods, which was great because I got some amazing Asian sauces from that section on my visit. Even though most Giants have a gas station in their parking lot I still find it a major plus. read more

Love this store , people still helping bag groceries. I stopped going to Giant on rt 724 . They had 2 to 3 people who just stood behind registers . That dosent get people out the door that way . Giant on VAN REED RD .is also cleaner . We will continue to shop this store vs the 724 Giant store . read more

This is a pretty nice place to shop at most of the time, but someone needs to do something about the lady at self checkout with the dark hair and accent, I think shes Romanian? Anyways me and my family have had FAR too many negative interactions with her, she is always so nosey and can be extremely rude, just today my dad was there and instead of politely asking my dad to wait till she cleaned the self check out register she yells STOP! and throws here hand in his face. Its completely unacceptable how she treats me and my folks when we have the misfortune of running into her when we shop here. read more

Buyer beware. Double check .. triple check .. quadruple check your receipts. Went there for first time in a long time. Bought various items, including bush beans which were remarkably on sale for $1.89. didn't realize until I was home, that receipt said $2.39 each. Called and they said to come to store for a refund. I went back, for the refund. Decided to also get some bread. Small bread loafs, 75 cents each, or 6 for $3.50. I got 6, of course. Then, I saw cool whip, 2 for $3, but an extra dollar off if you use your digital coupon. That's 2 for $2. Good deal. Got two. Went to cash register, and asked how to use the digital coupon. Cashier didn't know. She called the guy from customer service. I showed him my cellphone, where I had added the digital coupon, and the guy said it takes anywhere from 30 minutes to 24 hours for the digital coupon to become active. Really? (I think that's a BS answer just to get rid of me). Told him I'm not waiting 24 hours, don't need the cool whip. Take it off my bill. So, I'm left with the 6 mini sandwich rolls. $9.50 please. I said "no way", they're supposed to be $3.50. cashier got the customer service guy again, and he did something in the register, $4.50. I said No, sign said buy 6, price is $3.50. he said they're 75 cents each, so you got 6, total $4.50. I repeated, sign says $3.50. he did something in cash register and said there, it's $3.50. end of story: unless you're willing to argue on all these mistakes, don't bother coming here. read more

I absolutely hate this store with a passion. The only reason I continue to shop here is because it's 3 minutes from my house. If Target would have a produce section, Giant would get no business from me, except maybe the bakery. The staff is always rude and unhelpful. The deli... Forget it. You could be waiting 30 minutes there sometimes. I've tried the Express order but it's hit and miss with the 10-15 minute window they give you. The produce was impressive last time, but there have been times where I have 2 peppers to choose from. The checkout is a disaster. They usually never have enough lines open. I would highly recommend to stay far away from this establishment. read more

This location has been less consumer friendly in recent months. They added beer and wine, but have it in the wrong part of the store. Every other grocery had it in a front corner which works better for paying separately. The last cashier I had said " Oh you brought some bags? I said yes. Then as she began to ring up she said,"Aren't you going to help me bag?" I looked at her for a good 30 secs. I was thinking if I wanted to do that I' d have gone in the self check out. Then I started bagging. Then she told me I'd have to go back down the 1st aisle to pay for the wine."Didn't she stop you and tell you that? I said no and a nice woman behind me said " she's right no one was there . I was there at the same time." So at the end I went down aisle1- not correct aisle 2. Then I saw the register and an employee waiting on a man who was standing next to 2 boxes of beer. So I stood behind the boxes thinking they were his purchase. She rang him up and came around in front and put the boxes of beer where they belonged so I approached the counter and she rang up my bottle. So I realized she is supposed to stock shelves and wait on customers no wonder she wasn't near there when I was looking. She never said a word to me. I am done going to this Giant, I will go to Ephrata , 724, or Exeter if I want something only Giant carries. Rude and bad placement of signs and checkout for the wine and beer! read more

Been going to this store for atleast three years. Never had a cashier like I did a couple of minutes ago...throwing my groceries instead of letting them go down the conveyor belt. I like how I can find things here that I cannot find elsewhere. They can be more on the expensive side, but finding everything i need makes up for it. I like that there are usually coupons delivered to my neighborhood, coupons that I can actually use like meats and kids items. read more

I do not understand the rudeness and lack of customer service in this store. Every time I go in. So many miserable people work in this store. Is it that bad of a place to work? I don't know? When Giant first opened on Van Reed Road, the staff was much more pleasant and helpful. Ex. I just stood at the front of the customer service center and was ignored until I made a comment in an attempt to catch one of the three ladies at the counter. I know grocery stores are very busy. But if someone would just acknowledge a customer, maybe a good morning or we will be right with you, etc. nope. This not the first time this has happened. And the was no apology that the was a bug in my box of fruit. (Gross). read more
