This store is horrible. Whoever does the ordering should be fired because they are always out of the same items. The deli counter is so bad that I won't even buy anything there anymore. If you order something thin sliced or God forbid shaved, you will get what is considered a sandwich cut and maybe a thin cut if you're lucky that day. No one knows what they're doing and no one cares. You can't even get a number anymore so it's complete chaos. And forget about placing your order and shopping around because an hour and a half later, you have to come up and ask about it and then they do it. read more

Nice bright store with all the specialty sections: bakery, delis, floral, pharmacy, etc. I don't understand the low ratings, but I've only been there once. This store isn't being run right. Constantly out of things they say they can't get, neighboring giant stores have in stock. Poor deli workers are hung out to dry, they have one or two people on, on a Sunday . There's a dozen people in line and the workers was told to do online orders first. It's not their fault but they are hung out to dry by management. Two managers came over and spoke to the workers, then they stood to the side and had their own conversation. We have been shopping at Giant stores for a couple years since we moved here from Arizona, first in Lititz and now in the Exeter area. To the good, the store on Perkiomen has a great variety and selection. The produce section is well stocked and, so far, everything has been acceptably fresh. Most people these days wear masks. I've seen very few customers and no staff without them. Now, my negatives. Both deal with customer service. 1.) Standing in the checkout line, all of our groceries are on the belt. I keep my "loyalty" card information on my phone. I bring up the screen with GIANT in big letters and the scan code and hold it prominently with the cashier can see it. All that would be required of the cashier would be to pick up the hand-held scanner and "zap" the code, then continue scanning the groceries. At least that's the way it happens most of the time. Half our groceries are scanned and the cashier looks at me impatiently and says, "I've seen it!" I ask, "Did you scan it?" The cashier looks away and continues scanning our groceries. The cashier finishes with the groceries then looked at me with an exasperated eye roll, grabs the hand scanner, and scans the loyalty code. It's been a long time since I've experienced such a negative attitude in a checkout line. Maybe the cashier was having a bad day, but still, I'm gonna go with training issues. 2.) OK. Grocery store sushi is not the best sushi in the world, but the sushi at Giant has been consistently OK, and it's a nice, quick lunch. The people at the sushi counter make an effort to make the sushi look appetizing, and I appreciate it. What I don't appreciate is when the bagger in the checkout line throws the sushi into a bag endwise as if it were a loaf of bread and I end up sorting out tossed sushi. Maybe it's just me, but again, I think it's a training issue. So, generally a 4-5 star shopping experience, sometimes there are staff training issues which knock it down to 3 ... at least this last trip. read more

For the past two days I've been suffering from serious stomach flu and today was the first day I was able to get out of bed. My family doctor called in a prescription for antibiotics to Walmart, but I discovered Giant offers free antibiotics for up to 14 days!* I called my nearest Giant and Brian, one of their pharmacy employees, took down my information and transferred it for me. Giant Supermarkets have an attention to details and products that other supermarkets in the area lack. Deli is very good serving Boars Head products that are delicious. Service is typically good and value is found throughout the store. read more

Times they are a'changing. The natural food section at Giant (open 24 hours) is really improving, so there must be a demand for this, even in good old Berks County. I can get my favorite frozen vegan pizzas (American Flatbread and Amy's Roasted Vegetable) when I am too lazy to make dough, and Giant can be counted on to have less common veggies such as parsnips and so on. I have lost count of the many late night trips made to grab a pint of So Delicious Peanut Butter Zigzag. There are now many coconut-milk-based items, Daiya cheese, and a good selection of ethnic food. I hailed the return of Vegenaise with joy, but there are still a few v-basics missing: nutritional yeast (nooch), coconut creamer, and Ezekiel sprouted tortillas. We have to go to Kimberton for these family favorites. The bulk section is growing too, for those of us wishing to minimize or reuse packaging. Nice job on the selection of raw nuts. Since Wegman's won't come to Berks for murky reasons, possibly our demographics or collusion with other chains, *cough,* Giant is the place to go when the health food store is closed and of course for the basics. Decent organic section too. Too bad they are not employee-owned like Redner's. When the power was out over Halloween of 2011, Giant let everyone take over their cafe area and cast no evil eyes at us despite all of our dueling chargers, very tolerant. Funny seeing all the neighbors there, such nice people. Also, the coffee stand does not charge extra for soy milk, not exactly the best non-dairy creamer, but one tends to remember these small kindnesses not followed by Starbucks and even local independent coffee shops.. Several requests at Thanksgiving got us a good discount on a vegan roast, since we did not want the lasagne or the bird. The high school kids who work here are very nice. Too bad about the ugly shell of a strip mall left behind a few blocks away which has caused the remaining stores there to struggle, move, or close. But skateboarders seem to appreciate the empty lot. We still hate the self-checkout and would rather see an employee be paid than replaced. And finally, I am no longer seen as weird or a pain when I doggedly bring my own bags. read more

This a huge Giant just off of 422. It looks brand new and is always very clean. You can get a bit lost in it if you aren't careful, but with that said....I enjoy dropping by here to get groceries. Their produce section is huge and they even have a nice little section spices and raw foods. The two Red Boxes at this location also give you a huge selection of movies to rent if you chose too. Be sure to get a Giant Card so you can save a dime or two on your gas every now and again. read more

Bad store don't shop here after they re aranged and got the robot they stoppes stocking alot of good items. Do not go here and they don't care if you have been coming along time they won't even let you order an item. Alot of stuff goes out of stock and they do nothing and say oh the computers order it. read more

Giant and their pharmacy are awful! My husband has been on chemotherapy for 6 months and have really good insurance. They gave us nothing but problems getting medications. I try not to go inside stores but had to return numerous times due to their incompetence in refills. I will never shop there again due to their price gouging during this pandemic! read more

This is my go to grocery store in the Berks County area it is always clean and the staff are always helpful. There is one staff member there Derek, I'm not sure if he is a head cashier or assistant manager that goes out of his way always smiles, bags the groceries the right way, asks how you are doing just a great representative of Giant! read more

Ever since they rearranged this store it is awful. It was nice I would shop the small but nice organic isles and the perimeter of the store. Now they have some organic stuff in the organic isles but not all some is mixed in with the regular stuff some not.... such a pain. Before there was some organic stuff in with the regular stuff but it was also the same stuff in the organic section. Pick what you want to do have it both section or have it only in one. I am literally running around the store looking for stuff!!!! I used to shop there all the time now I hate it and and try not to cause it takes me soooo long to find stuff. There is nothing wrong with the Giant Market. It's the same as every other one. It's no Wegmans but better than Redner's. What my one star review is for is the parking lot. It is difficult and time consuming to enter the lot and it is difficult and time consuming to leave the lot. So much so that I avoid it as often as possible. read more

I'm very pleased with our Giant. Good thing, too, as I'm there fairly frequently...which means I usually have anywhere from 30 cents to 80 cents off a gallon for gasoline with their points system! Very clean and bright with wide isles. VERY clean. The store boasts a huge organic section, great selection of produce, lovely little coffee cafe with an area where customers can sit and read the paper (I didn't think this was necessary but then I've seen some families use the area for an older family member to sit while they shop, very nice idea). Very helpful employees and the staff in the pharmacy are wonderful. However, what pleases me the most about Giant is seeing that they employ people with disabilities. read more

The meat dept in my opinion is going down hill. Meat case items look great but pricey, not much can be done there. The prepackaged Giant meat products seem to have gone up a bit in price and down the tubes with quality. Items that I have purchased are given names like Country Ribs for instance and it's not the same product that they have been selling for years, but giving it the same name!! Why is this ? Another example was pork chops not labeled any specific way just chops. What it looked like they did is just take the pork shoulder and run it through the band saw cutting it down bone and all and then calling it a chop. Beware to look also at what's on the underside of the meat you purchase. That seems to be where they hide what doesn't look as good. Ask the meat dept. to open the package and inspect it before you buy it. You can get some deals there at times but buyer beware. Sams Club meats are so much better and probably so is your local butcher! read more

Great store, employees are very knowledgeable and friendly. Only bad comment I have is although the rest room looks clean the urine smell is overwhelming. They must use hot soapy water to mop the floor not just swish a wet mop around. read more

Be very very careful with this store. They rip you off on your bill. You think you are getting a good deal until you review your receipt. When you try to complain. The Manager doesn't care and she says it is not her problem. This is the last time I will shop here. read more

This was the only store that I could find halo top ice cream. They didn't have to much of a selection but they had it.
