Saturday morning, I attempted to check out at the self-serve register, as I have done many times…read more(weekly) over the last six years. I had two separate transactions to make. I rang up the first transaction, before I could even put the first item in the bag, the cashier, Karen, rushed over, "Are you planning to pay for those items? You didn't ring everything up." I explained that I was making two separate transactions and that she should have waited until a theft actually occurred before accusing me of a crime/stealing. Karen, with her tail tucked between her legs walked way and mumbled a slight apology! From the start, Karen had a razor-sharp fixation on me from the moment I entered the self-checkout line. Security cameras are everywhere, so why would I steal a jar of honey when Karen was already breathing down my neck as I was ringing up my items? Words were exchanged, and she called for a manager. Meanwhile, an employee named Bozo, who was not even on the scene when Karen accused me of stealing, adamantly stated, "She didn't accuse you of stealing!" He automatically took her side without knowing what had happened. Bozo, who claimed to be a manager, had a smug, nonchalant, and accusatory disposition, making him extremely unprofessional. A manager? How? He knows nothing about conflict resolution, has no training in de-escalation, and only added fuel to the fire. As a manager, Bozo should have remained neutral until all the facts were presented. Instead, he called in more reinforcements, and they tried to gang up on me...even another customer joined in. It was an interesting dynamic! I kept laughing out of frustration because Bozo tried so hard to demonize me, even though I was the victim. . What't the point of my post? To express that Bozo and Karen are not lost prevention and need more training! I'm grateful to TikTok and other social media platforms for making me aware of scenarios such as this. I was already mentally prepared, which helped me remain calm and composed. However, still flabbergasted by the accusations. Kudos to Brian the manager, he handled things swiftly and professionally. Whether he genuinely cared or not, he at least made an attempt to lower the temperature. I guess I'm lucky? I'm 53 and have never experienced anything like this before. Majority will NEVER experience the micro aggressions, the internal biases, the stereotyping and the prejudgements, lucky you! And, though my many years on this planet has taught me that any store/person can have a bad day, what I can say about the Turkey Hill store at 735 S Broad St in Lititz, PA, is that the store and its personnel are CONSISTENTLY terrific. That consistency keeps me coming back. Every week, I travel to Lititz from my home in Lebanon County, and in over 3 1/2 years, I have never been disappointed with the service at this Turkey Hill. Of course the counter can be busy at certain times, but that is because the store is popular. The manager, June, is very personable and ready to help, and personnel such as Jess, are very hard-working and have, on certain occasions, impressed me with their ability to multi-task. The overall atmosphere of the store is upbeat, and SPECIAL DECORATIONS during the numerous holidays make the store a special place to drop in quickly or sit at the tables, dine in, and just take it easy. They said this happened to a previous customer. He asked if I got the cheap stuff. I said no I got the middle one. Neither seemed to know what to do and said they might have to call someone if it happens to someone else. I was in a rush so I said I would try a different grade. I went out and the higher grade worked. Meanwhile two other customers were having the same issue and I went to tell them the issue instead of the employees coming out. Hopefully they actually put a sign out there for future customers but not betting on it. Now it is two weeks later. I am hoping that the previous issue is a one time deal. I pull in, get out of my car and when I go to put my card in I notice a small note in maybe 12 pt font that says they are temporarily out of gas. That should be a big sign as to not waste our time. That should be on the big sign where the prices are. I saw 4 other cars pull in after me so I was not the only one wasting my time. They really need to get their act together. If this is going to be a regular issue I will take my business up the street.

Whether it be medication, beauty supplies, or food - their selection of these items are the best around. Hubby likes the fitness supplements and protein powders. Their selection of these items are pretty plentiful too. Prices are kinda all over the place, depending on the product but overall probably higher than say going to CVS. Often they will have a double page ad of coupons in the Clipper so look for it for additional savings on select items. When I was dumbfounded on where to find essential oils I found them here. Selection is fairly good although there were several I bought on ebay either because Savemart didn't carry them or the price was better. So why 4 stars and not 5? For me I hate their parking lot. The layout is poorly designed. Secondly the isles are close together and crammed. The place is usually crowded and its hard to find help. If you like Hispanic foods/cuts of meat you can find them here as well. No fresh fish....all is frozen and in individual servings. Over all....I save a considerable amount of money making this store my Big Shop store on average I spend 150.00 for a household of three and with the exception of bread and milk can feed the household on what I purchase for a month. I still need to hit Walmart for pet supplies and storage bags because Price Rite has a limited offering. Down side, be prepared to bag your own groceries and the bagging area can get congested but it does clear up quickly. While you can purchase bags from the store .10 each, nice quality, I bought nice cloth bags from TSC and Ace hardware at 1.99 each and they work wonderfully. Some of the cons are they seem to feel no responsibility to price items correctly so you wind up with scan errors, no prices for items or items in the wrong location. I would not give them a one star except that the price issues are an everyday thing and when you discuss it with management, they don't see that it is a problem. In fact, they do not believe it is an issue that needs fixed (based on my last trip there at approx. 7PM on September 29, 2014). If you don't mind the headaches of not knowing what you will be paying for your merchandise, shop here. If you want to shop at a store where the people care, shop elsewhere (my experience).
