After trying on several pairs of sneakers and some questions from the owner, she gave me advice to change how I dance and that I did not need sneakers. She could have tried to push me into whatever, but she did what was best for me the customer. Overall, an overwhelming great experience. We had to stumble through figuring out the best size and explicitly ask for advice on which shoe to pick. Maybe I am nostalgic for the olden days, where I'd get lots of attention in a brick-and-mortar shoe store. I guess if you're ok figuring out some things for yourself, the selection here is good and worth checking out. The store includes coolers, backpacks, helmets, water bottles, field hockey sticks, and lots of apparel.

From stores that only push certain brands to stores that treated me great til they got my money.... it's hard in today's day and age of the internet where to go and how you will be treated. Let me tell you the guys at Cutting Edge have been hands down WONDERFUL at every turn. Not only did they more than willingly go thru bikes with my husband but also with me. The fact that they were so thorough and knowledgeable about the bikes they have, including my current riding disciplines. They have a varied selection of all kinds of bikes and if there is something you're interested in but don't see, just ask. They also have a used section that is available to the public. So what makes these guys great? They all have their own personalities and talents, but they are so harmonious and that's rare and lends its self to a lack of competition against each other for sales and puts the customers needs and wants first!! An equal great point is they are able to point out things to me that helped my cycling and make suggestions without being overbearing or putting sales first. These guys know how to generate true repeat business by fostering real relationships with every customer that comes in. Which is why on the third visit there we felt more than comfortable to trade in my husbands bike and upgrade him to a full suspension bike! He ABSOLUTELY loves his new bike and they just turned my bike from a 2x10 drive train to a 1x10 drivetrain and for a more than reasonable price!!! Specifically, we had a periscope from a tank (he was a tank instructor) and an Army helmet.  I wanted to sell them as part of our household de-cluttering initiative and reached out to a guy in the Yankee Flyer who is constantly advertising his interest to buy these things. But after I called him and e-mailed him photos, all I heard was crickets so he obviously wasn't that interested after all. Then I contacted Army Barracks, exchanged a few e-mails and photos, agreed on a price, a check was delivered from their Massachusetts headquarters to their Newington store, and we made the exchange today. Super easy! The store is quite a site to behold, with camo clothing everywhere, boots, shorts, jackets, helmets, backpacks, guns, knives, samurai swords, hatchets and axes, and all sorts of military paraphernalia as far as you can see.

I walked in to an almost completely empty store except for two members of the staff - they both greeted me and directed me towards the Slip-Ins Shoes and made me aware that if I purchased two pair the second pair would be 50% off. They had a pretty good selection and I walked the aisles a few times until I found a few pairs that might work. I was told they were true to size but decided to try a pair on since they are slip-ins and no laces, after walking around in them I'd say they are true to size. I found two pairs that were both priced at $70 each so I walked out of the door with two pair for about $113.00 including sales tax, now after wearing them a few days I'd say that's a bargain...
