I think their produce isn't as great as Wegmans and slightly overpriced. The rest of the dried food section/pantry like things are good. bakery Goods are a little over sugary and cheap tasting. Meat section is ok but also not the best cuts of meat. There's a cute large geriatric population however, which makes this store quite charming to visit for the most part. Produce: Sometimes you get an ok deal but most of their cut fruit, and produce is a little over priced. May as well go to Wegmans to get better fresh things. Consider Walmart and price rite for better variety/price. Dried goods/pantry- carries larger variety of brands compared to Wegmans which has a monopoly. I think this allows buyers to try outside competition more however. There's good and bad. Bakery- unfortunately kinda cheap tasting. lots of conditioners and preservatives for same price as a Wegmans' loaf of bread. the bread just feels like it could be buried underground and survive 5 years later. Baked goods better at Wegmans. Discount dairy. this place wins. For sure. Milk is ok priced- Wegmans has cheapest milk in Rochester. You can find Creme fraiche for example which is hard to find in other places. Candy section- super cheap. lots of junk food here that are cheap. Prepared hot foods- ok as well. Title: Unacceptable Treatment and Lack of Response at Wegmans on Calkins Rd Review: I visited Wegmans on Calkins Rd on April 7th, expecting the usual excellent service I've come to rely on. However, my experience turned sour due to the behavior of a Wegmans employee. Upon reaching self-checkout, I scanned all items in my cart, as is standard practice. However, I was informed by the cashier that I needed to use bottle return slips at the customer service desk for a few items. No problem, I thought, and proceeded to cash out. As I walked the mere 10 feet to the customer service desk, I was suddenly accosted by a Wegmans asset protection employee. In an extremely rude manner, he whispered in my ear, "hey bud, did you scan everything this f'ing time." Shocked and upset by his inappropriate question, I asked him what his problem was. Instead of an apology or explanation, he continued to stare at me, clearly mocking my American flag sweatshirt and "Let's go Brandon" hat. To add insult to injury, he then told me I am trespassing and said I will be banned me from all Wegmans stores for two years. This unjust treatment left me feeling humiliated and disrespected, especially considering my long-standing loyalty to Wegmans. In an effort to address this issue, I reached out to corporate Wegmans the following Monday and continued to do so every day thereafter. Unfortunately, I received no response, leaving me feeling even more disregarded and undervalued as a customer. As someone who has never encountered any issues at Wegmans before and who relies on the store as a one-stop-shop for my family of seven, this experience was deeply disappointing. It has shattered my trust in a brand I once held in high regard. Wegmans must do better in addressing customer concerns and ensuring that all employees uphold the values of respect and professionalism. I have spent $11,562.65 at Wegmans stores since January 2023 read more

This store has asset protection officers that like to act as law enforcement and that like to harass people that have lawful business or lawful reason to be there . I file a complaint today against this store and have a case complaint number of 3861941 . I would strongly advise anyone who goes to this store to start contacting the actual law enforcement when these asset protection officers are crossing the line and harassing innocent people. I hope management sees this and puts a reign on their employees because everything the asset protection officers do Wegman's is liable for!!! At least the Wegmans on Hylan Drive they actually have management that cares about their customers!!! I wanted to make sure everyone that goes to the Calkins Wegmans is aware so when they start harassing you when you're sitting in a car it won't be a surprise!!! read more

Let me start with the loud obnoxious music that is blaring over the speakers in the store. If you have anxiety, DO NOT shop here. I believe Wegman's is no longer "for" the Rochester community. The greed that has been displayed since the beginning of Covid and the recent inflation issues our country faces, proves to me that the Wegman's family wealth, the mansions on Canandaigua Lake far exceed the everyday working folks needs and concerns of family. The customer support person was very courteous and said she needed a manager and called for the woman in the office behind her. She, too, was courteous but paused to say she wanted to get approval from the meat department because it was over $20. Note she made a face when she opened the bag regarding the smell. (Purchase price $20.48). A woman and a man can up, and both smelled the product. Then the woman proceeded to tell me she would not complete the return because I didn't call the store the day I purchased it. Then, she went on a second defensive path to avoid a return. This involved telling me that the product smelled fine and was fine when I purchased it. Really??? Shortly thereafter, she identified herself as an owner. After a few minutes she offered a refund but only via store credit. I have never had an issue with buying any products in this store. However, I will NEVER shop at this store again.
