Wegman's is our new "Go To" grocery store! We were very impressed with this store because of the variety of choices in every department. I had difficulty finding an item until the very kind lady working in the produce department helped me locate the item. She stopped what she was doing to look it up on her cell phone. With her help I was able to locate the hard to find item. When we arrived home several of our items were missing. I contacted customer service and to my surprise the items were already recorded as not picked up. So I presented my sales slip and the missing items were immediately replaced. Simply amazing! Love this store! I always do Instacart from here (both delivery & pick up) and the produce from here is always the best. The fruits and vegetables are super fresh, there are occasionally free samples at the store (I've tried cheesecake, bread, cheese, cut fruits, meats, etc) and the workers are so nice to let you try them. The fish and meat is also great quality. I love the variety of items they offer, the store is also really bright and everything is nicely organized from an ambiance standpoint as it enhances the shopping experience for sure. The florist this time around on Valentine's Day blew me away! I got my daughter pink roses and baby's breath and made her an arrangement in my own vase. They look so beautiful right now! I got them on Monday 2/12 today is 2/15 and they keep getting better. That same day my son asked me to pick up an already made bouquet of red roses for his GF. Hers came with baby's breath we just put them in a vase at home. Hers are beautiful too but they need more baby's breath. I usually go to a local florist and spend anywhere between $50-$100. I think we're going to start doing what we just did and get our own from wegmans Medford. BUYER BEWARE -- HOME DELIVERY DISASTER - i recently had a very serious cervical spine surgery and I cannot drive so I have been forced to buy groceries online. I went to several stores before I went to Wegmans which is where I usually shop. LITERALLY 12 HOURS of disaster of inept non caring shopper that obviously cannot read what that have to shop or just dont care -- one lied about delivering and leaving it in front of building --which never happened because there are always people outside and in the lobby and I CLEARLY ASKED THEM TO CALL ME ON ARRIVAL AND DELIVER TO MY DOOR AS I DO NOT WALK WELL. This started at 9:00AM when I placed the order and ended at 9:00PM when I finally got a shopper who read that you should call me first to get in and then deliver to apartment door -- however, the flounder was missing and the spinach was soaking (literally) and rotted so i had to throw it all out. This review is based solely on their food court and Seating area. I remember when the place first opened, it being a good place to grab lunch and finish up projects or homework (I was in college). The staff were friendly and would clean the seating area regularly. The condiment station always clean and well stocked, even during the busy rushes. The options being very wide and all very appetizing. After many years, I had the opportunity today to stop in and grab a quick bite and fawn over past memories of my days in school, sitting here, having lunch while working on my term paper. I was taken a back to see the options being far less than it use to be. I had come right at the start of what should have been the lunch rush, but from the looks of the offerings, you would have thought we were at the end of the rush. Very limited options of Poke bowls, (2 choices salmon or Tuna) , sushi lunch combo packs looked very basic ( Cali roll, Crunch Roll, Philly Roll) , couple choices of wings, 2 very sad looking satay/stir fry, hot table of the standard fried items, deli section, and pizza station. Wanting to go back to my memories of old, I always got the 2 slice combo (2 choice of slices and a fountain drink) Back then it was for $5.79 The Pizzas looked great and fresh as it was coming right out the oven and I ordered the Pepperoni and Meatball. The service was...okay?...when I asked for the pizza, I got no response or acknowledgment, the guy walked off and left me standing there. He then comes back, no eye contact, no response, just slowly proceeds to get the 2 slices for me, still no eye contact nor acknowledgment, just pushes the 2 slices to me....It was very odd. The fountain machine is no longer available, bottled sodas only, and no more pizza combo. My total came to $11.10....a long time since $5.79 The seating area was a mess. Mind you, it's just the beginning of lunch, and not a single clean table and lots of sticky spots on the floor. There is a kids area with a tv and child size furniture for the little ones but that was also a mess. Not sure I would want my little one eating in there with it looking the way it did. Took matters into my own hands and cleaned up a table for myself. While I was cleaning, I stepped into a sticky spot on the floor. (Damn floor felt like I had stepped into a sticky rat trap) Although the prices of the pizzas have gone up, the size of the pizza have definitely gone down. Back in the day, these pizzas ends would be hanging out of the box like it was a tongue. Now it's swims around in the box like a tad pole. It would have been a one star but while I was about to finish up, an Employee came in and began cleaning and said hi to me and apologized for the mess and started to immediately clean the neighboring tables. For $11.10, I can go to my local Pizza guy and have him hand toss me a medium 1 topping pizza oppose to getting 2 slices and a bottle of coke. Heck my local pizza guy will even toss in a can of coke. I have been a frequent shopper at wegmans but my experience today was unfortunately unacceptable. My father and I were shopping together but paying separate and therefore decided to enter the less then 15 items lane.. where the tall curly boy decided to first inform us we couldn't be more then 15 items.. where I informed my father in spanish to pay for his items and I would follow. The boy proceeded to tell us next time we cant split the groceries and told us to hand him our bags that were next to the groceries.. He proceeded to stuff our groceries in the bag despite my father telling him the cream and milk did NOT need to be bagged. Once my transaction finished I swiped my card and he BARELY handle my receipt which fell without any apology nor anything. read more

The following review is based on experiences before the COVID-19 pandemic: Visited this Wegmans on my trip to Boston a little before the pandemic and was quite impressed that I can buy practically anything I can think of and at good prices. I also liked how everything was arranged nicely and there was plenty of parking and wide aisles. I may be a bit biased due to not having grocery stores similar to this in the Midwest where there are an amazing array of food stations, attractive displays throughout the store, lots of TV menus, etc. Almost like a whole foods except on a much grander scale -- similar to what Mariano's used to be like. I liked the selection of produce to be good, coffee choices a bit upscale, and alcohol collection to be comparable to what you'd find at a standalone liquor store. My main purpose for visiting was to try the lobster roll which did not disappoint with nice fluffy bread and sweet, meaty lobster with crispy lettuce. I tried some other items as well, which weren't as impressive but I did enjoy the king salmon tataki with nice thick salmon slices and a good flavor. I enjoy the large scale of this store and all the choices it offers. I look forward to visiting again once we are over the pandemic. read more

Oh wegmans, what has happened to you? I have you first chance with onions. Second with my small red potatoes and third time with this(the pics). Onions are turning out to be rotten. One needs to buy the loose one and not the bagged ones. Purple/red small potatoes : I kept them in water, yes just to make sure the starch go out but next morning found coloured water and the potatoes loosing colour. Whhaaaaaat? Most of them were colored and the skin went back to regular one when I rubbed. Still bought bagged potatoes and now this. Rotten inside and 2 went horribly bad. Had to throw and no I won't post those pics as folks might get grossed out. I was so happy to find you 7 mins drive from my place but now it makes me wonder if the fresh veggies are worth it. Is it the pandemic that made you compromise with quality? Not sure but Probably thinking of going back to Wilson's for all my fresh veggie needs. Had a great experience with the catering department. The half-subs and wrap platter for 10-12 was delicious. When a cookie platter was missing from my order, I called a central customer service number, which contacted my local store, and in about a half hour, the head of catering was at my door with the missing item. I love this store and location. Plenty of parking. Great selection, excellent grab and go meals, florist, cheese shop, fresh sushi and fresh fruits and veggies. I love their bakery and always find something new and delicious for my family. We love their soups, poke bowls, salads, scones... now I am hungry just thinking about it. Prices are on the high side for prepared foods, but that is the price of convenience. Summary: - they may have given me the disease E Coli with their "Wegmans brand" carrots - to get a refund of my $1.69, I have to go into the store with the unused portion - when I get to the store with the unused carrots, they also want the original bag, even though they had a record of when I bought it - no bag, no $1.69 refund - GFY, Wegmans Details: I may have the disease E Coli because I took a risk on "Wegmans brand" carrots, but they make it much worse. The disease E Coli takes up to 10 days for symptoms to show, and it's a nasty disease. It's also CONTAGIOUS, so I may have passed it on. Thanks, Wegmans. However, I'd be ok with that, because they probably got the carrots from some other company, and things happen. Wegman's calls me and tell me about the recall, because they have a record that I bought it through my loyalty card. OK so far. They say I have to return the unused portion (which was a lot). I put them in a bag, and make a trip about 20 minutes before closing time, and assume they'll say what any store would say - "we're sorry, and just go get a replacement". No, I have to wait for the night manager, who then - wants to see the original bag - needs my phone number to look up when I bought it - wants to know what date I bought it on, as if I have a "Carrots calendar" - I say, "you have the computer records in front of you, and you sold me the carrots" - he gives his response, with his 5 face rings and flamboyant attitude, "I didn't sell them to you" - he can't do it without the bag and the bar code I just gave up and left. The good, the bad, and the ugly of Wegmans, in Medford, MA. THE GOOD: The store is large, spacious, has a diverse array of merchandise, and is clean. The parking lot has an abundance of parking spaces, it is well lit, and not cluttered by idle shopping carts. The produce and bakery goods appear fresh. THE BAD: Staff are not overtly helpful, which surprised me, as the Wegman Family has amongst the highest business and personal values, in my opinion, in the grocery business. THE UGLY: The prices at the Wegmans, in Medford, MA are ridiculously expensive, and not, in general, the great value that Wegmans, deceptively represents. I thought the most expensive supermarket on the planet was the Star Market, in the Fenway neighborhood of Boston; I think the Medford, MA Wegmans is more expensive than the Star Market in the Fenway; it seems more expensive than Whole Foods. While the Wegmans in Medford, MA has very attractive hours, 6 AM to Midnight, I'd avoid Wegmans at all expense, due to their ridiculously inflated prices. read more

I want to still like this store. When it first opened, it had an amazing array of products, nicely stocked shelves, and helpful employees. But all that has changed. For some time, I let it go, as the pandemic did open a lot of cracks within certain businesses, but many recovered once things were up and running again. This is not the case with this store. Such a shame, too: it has a nice environment, spacious and bright. And then about a year ago, they did a wacky reset, splitting categories up into other sets, which makes finding what you want time consuming. Their in-stock position is also weak: a number of times I've been here and items needed were not available. Just for the hell of it, I estimated what they lost in a sale with just my order, and it came in around 30.00. Multiply that by a number of other customers who also could not find what they needed, and it would be in the thousands. Today though...I've had it. The first step into the lobby was sad: trash on the floor, virtually no carriages there either. I grabbed a cart from outside and started my shopping. First stop was the bakery, which was mostly empty. Not a problem, I know that production can be slow in that category, so I opted to buy commercial brand sliced bread. The first few loaves I handled felt dry, and then I noted the date was for the 27th of July. These sat cleanly, neatly stocked next to others that had date ranges of August 3rd-August 10th. Really poor execution, as well as maintaining proper stocking. I then went to produce where large portions of the multi-deck refrigerated cases were either low, or empty. Some of the items looked like they should have been culled out, but were still there on the shelf. Sometimes this happens when there is a problem with the temperature of the cases, and given how hot it's been lately, some of them may have iced up, causing the product to go bad. I wouldn't have noted it, or worried about it, but this isn't the first time it's happened when I shop there. Into the grocery aisles, and there were tons of out of stocks. I curbed my shopping needs and only picked up the minimum of items on my list. Too bad. I used to love their private label store brands: the cooking sauces, salad dressings, canned beans, and pastas. Heading to checkout, where the rubber meets the road in retail... self scans were lined up with customers with HUGE orders, like full carts, which takes quite a bit of time while they look up PLU's for vegetables, or just trying to find the barcode on a package to scan it. I figured it would be better to go to a register with a human working there, and ended up waiting almost 10 minutes with only 1 person ahead of me, while their small order was being rung up. The poor cashier had trouble finding the codes for the produce, and clearly was new at the job, but not well trained, as they also had difficulty tendering the order. Not long ago, I applied for a job at Wegman's. I've worked retail (mostly in management), have a lifetime of experience in that sector, too. Nice things are said about them, but my phone interview with them was less than kind, or even logical. I applied for a stock clerk position (they really seem to need them, too, given the state of their shelves), and when I told them that I wasn't available to work after 5 PM on Sundays (but available all other times and days), the interviewer abruptly told me that the position they would now consider me for would be overnight stocking, or in-store shopping because my availability was "limited". Excuse me? Do you mean to say that those positions aren't staffed on Sunday nights? Never in my life have I encountered such a rude reaction from an HR person. I laughed, thanked the interviewer for their time, and hung up. read more

He tells me I can't shop and targeted me while others were walking in. He proceeds to tell me that if I try to check out with the 4 items I need he won't let me (cause he's the hot shot from asset protection, ya know?) Michael from asset protection and the other guy in this video should be fired. If you stay open til 8, that means you shut the doors at 8 (letting people in) - I was 17 mins early!! But I was to fly out to DC for Thanksgiving-but unable to do so at the time.. So we called Wegman's to order individuals separate dinners who ate with us..They were so busy for the holiday with clients food orders-plus up until the day before they delivered at a very reasonable cost. No another supermarket packages up such fresh individual orders like Wegmans.. The roasted turkey, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, delicate stuffing, spinach/compost & home gravy...was delicious..Outstanding for 8 single plated dishes..We were all impressed..because of the fresh taste of all the food...Topped off with a very good apple pie...Bravo!!!!!!!!!!to their catering department & cooks who went 'above and beyond'... serving & sending out hundreds of orders and deliveries " I have never used their Catering Service until now-so thought they may not show up.. I've been a fan of this Wegman's since it first opened. The tastes are nice, and instructive- learned how to cook spaghetti squash. There are some cool finds in produce- e.g. delicious organic Vermont tomatoes, and jumbo blueberries. Then they have a huge variety of dairy products- like my new favorite cottage cheese brand, good culture. You can get lots of specialty and organic stuff- oat milk, a nice cheese selection (I like the Mild Brie), ezekiel products, etc. They also have good international sections- lots of Goya products, Asian products (spring roll wrappers, sauces), and more. read more

Always have a good experience at wegmans. The staff is always super friendly and helpful. The store is always very clean and I have used wegmans pharmacy at multiple locations as long as I can remember. I have a lot of medical needs, so I use the pharmacy quite frequently. Their staff is always willing to fix an insurance issue or talk with doctors. I have noticed during the pandemic, they were great in the beginning, however, a few of their locations have started getting quite busy and have customers that do not wear face masks. I understand that there is only so much that they as a store can do to prevent this in order to keep their workers safe, but as an immunocompromised shopper this makes me uneasy to go in. Even if they don't have symptoms, they could be exhaling COVID all over the front of the store where hundreds of people walk each day. No idea how this location has 3 out of 5 stars. This place is amazing. It has everything. I consistently place an order for dinner on the Wegmans mobile app for pickup multiple times a week on my way home from work. The food is high quality, lines move fast, plenty of parking. They have special designated parking near the entrance for people that are going in to pick up online orders. There are people there to deliver orders for you to your car. They have an amazing hot food bar that is one of the best quality ones I've had. The store layout is well designed, things are easy to find, and associates are willing to help. The one thing I will criticize Wegmans for is the fact that they give paper shopping bags with no handles (the way Stop and Shop does it). So if you have to walk a distance to your car (or walk back home) carrying the bags are very uncomfortable and tiring on the hands, wrists and forearms. read more

In general, Wegman's is a great store. However, the experience at this Mystic Valley Parkway store is very much soured by the poor checkout experience. Specifically, bagging here is a nightmare. My coworkers and I share our horror stories on a weekly basis. Whether it's the cashier or a dedicated bagger, I find delicate foods squashed by large items, things turned on their sides, and cold/frozen foods outside of insulated bags. I try to bag everything myself, and fix their mistakes as they happen, but sometimes food is being poorly bagged while I'm still unloading the cart. Here are some examples: - Sushi put at the bottom of an un-insulated bag, on its side, which dumped out of the container ($13 loss today) - Fresh pie, vertically on its side, spilling out of the crust - Meatloaf, cookies, etc. with a bag of oranges on top - Meats, etc. left out of insulated bags I could go on and on, but just be warned as you checkout. Sadly, despite this constant issue, Wegmans is still the best store in the area. Too bad I end up angry by the time I'm done unloading. read more

This is by far the best grocery store I have seen thus far. I think I might consider moving to Boston just so I can shop here. This place is a combination of grocery store and food bars. They have an open dining area and other booths as well. They have microwaves you can use and a hot food bar, salad bar, burger bar and an olive bar that contains cheeses and Sweet Drop peppers. I believe their is a juice bar and I hear their pizza is pretty good as well. This was also the first place where I experienced a sink with soap and hand dryer all in one.
