After placing the order on DoorDash, we arrived at the estimated time. It took forever for someone to help the folks in the queue. I was told to pick up at the bar. Honestly, the place was not that busy. I have no idea why they can't answer the phone or manage the queue. I've been at locations with more people and similar staff size. They need to either improve their operations or hire more staff if it's a busy time for them. At the bar, a guy was in front of me and that order took a bit to complete - he was offered red pepper flakes and parm. And there was some chit chat. During my turn, they got it out but it was obviously missing an order. The lady didn't even notice that line item (soup in a bread bowl) missing. It's listed there - if it is not on the menu anymore, do not pretend like there was nothing wrong. Very shady, very distrustful. I asked the lady about the order and she said the bread bowl is not on the menu anymore. I was going to ask a question and interrupts me and says that she couldn't do anything as she walks away. She didn't even offer me red pepper flakes or parm. Very rude, very distasteful. Whatever, I can take it up with DoorDash but she was rude. I went back with two specialty pizzas. I thought the pizzas were alright - I do have comments. I think the wood roasted pizza concept is good since there isn't one in the area. However, the crust was definitely not the star (one would assume it should be for wood roasted). One pizza (baked potato) was definitely a bit pale for the crust - seemed like it could have been in there for longer but I enjoyed the toppings. The other pizza (holy pork) had a better crust but still something I didn't finish - the toppings were one note. The peach didn't add much to the flavors after it was overpowered by the pork. I think I would be rated the food better cause it wasn't bad but the service left a bad taste in my mouth which lasted throughout the meal. Honestly, I didn't even finish it. I always leave tip for pick up orders and I left one via DoorDash when I placed my order for The Purple Pig, but my experience with The Purple Pig makes me reconsider giving a tip all the time for other pick up orders at restaurants. I order out a lot and haven't experienced this before so it's unfortunate.

The ambience is just as creative with different areas for seating, bar, couches, tables. There are "vegan" options on the menu which I'm a huge fan of. We stopped in for dinner last Wednesday. There were a group of people sitting at the bar. But no one seated in the restaurant portion (yet). Our waiter was not the bartender. We ordered chicken tacos with beans and rice. They were tiny, flavorless street tacos with a tiny cup of flavorless beans and rice at premium prices that we would expect to see in a big city. We are used to having a waiter refill water glasses, check in occasionally as well as provide silverware when the food arrives. None of those applied when we stopped by to eat here while our car charged next door. Food was mediocre, small portions and an invisible waiter. He brought us to our table, we placed our order, he brought water and one alcoholic beverage. We did not see him again until he dropped off our food, without silverware or napkins. And did not check on us again until he brought the check. I went to the host desk and picked up silverware as well as refilled our own glasses of waters. Would not return. Would not recommend.

The food is amazing! We had Arancini- the best either of us have had since being in Italy. Crab cakes were another appetizer we enjoyed but not in the level of the Arancini. The main course (which we spied on the way to our table) was to die for. Duck leg confit with mushroom ravioli and broccolini (perfectly cooked) and a creamy mushroom gravy. It was magnificent. If you're ever in Alamosa for dinner, don't hesitate to stop in. You won't regret it. You might even want to go out of your way to stop here. Two chefs who earned their stripes in NYC returned to Alamosa to try their hands at fine dining in Alamosa. I hope they can continue to do well.

Located in the old St. Thomas Episcopal Church, the setting is absolutely beautiful -- they've done an amazing job of creating a cozy Italian restaurant while preserving the building's original charm. We came in as a large group and ended up ordering nearly everything on the menu -- and everything was delicious. The Eggplant Pasta was my absolute favorite -- rich, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. I also loved that you could ask for a bowl of roasted garlic to enjoy with the bread served alongside the pastas -- such a simple but amazing touch. The service was phenomenal. We were running late, so I called ahead to let them know, and even though it was right around kitchen closing time, they were so accommodating. They seated us immediately, made sure we could order everything we wanted, and never once made us feel rushed. Drinks were solid, the vibe was warm and inviting, and the food exceeded expectations -- especially for a small gateway town. The Friar's Fork is such a gem and truly worth the stop if you're in the area.

At 21 mins wait time, we had our table and our drink orders placed. The host was remarkable at gaging the wait time, the co-host- person seating guests, was always verifying tables available on the floor matched what was on the hosts ipad so the next guests could be paged. There were two table bussers who were on dirty tables as soon as guests left. Food removed, table tops washed, seats wiped down, floors under tables swept in 2 or three mins. Host was made aware table was ready and could page next in line guest, co-host seated them, wait staff at table within a minute or two tops. It was a fine-tuned, well oiled machine. Food was great. Always up to the Chili's standard. We enjoyed the 70s light rock music in the background. Second time to visit while visiting from out of town. The first time, we visited mid day around 2.
