Came for the old fashion cocktail, and boy it did not disappoint. Classic tasting with muddled cherries and orange. Also had a Manhattan and Wisconsin old fashioned. One of the only bars in Chicago to serve a Wisconsin old-fashioned cocktail. The atmosphere was laid back and had all retro vibes. The bartender was super cool and attentive. Would definitely visit again for drinks.

Usually, the nicer bars are located east of Kimball but I had no clue that there was this finer one right on the opp side.. in fact, just walking distance for me. I came here on a chill Friday night just to explore around, check it off my list and I was actually pretty surprised by it. It took me a sec to figure this place out from the outside look of it, it has no big signs or sorts. Once inside, the interiors were pretty dim-lit, gave me a rather retro vibe. My immediate attention went to the shuffleboard which I ended up playing for most of the night. It was actually a lot of fun! Just ask the bartender for the necessary shuffleboard stuff and he'll be happy to give it to you. Also, it was free. Bartender was really nice, he answered couple of my questions about the cocktail menu and made me go for the lions tail based on my preference. Drink was beautifully done, strong but not overpowering and definitely not a 'hole in the wall' bar kinda drink. Basically he knew what he was doing. Ohh and they also had a photo booth area which was cool!

Classic atmosphere, ok drinks and very disinterested service. When asked what kind of rye they had on hand, the dapper bartender simply pointed at the bottles behind him. Thanks.

Staff/owner was very rude. Came in with a group of 4 and we didn't even stay for drinks we were made to feel so uncomfortable.

One of my absolute favorite Chicago bars. The cocktails are excellent, bartenders extraordinary, and the place just feels like home.

They also have a shuffleboard, so if you have never played it get there soon and learn, it is rather addictive.

However I think the holiday spirit got to him a couple of weeks ago because he took me to Consignment which is one of he and his wife's faves. The name is as it says - the bar doubles as a secondhand store and whatever is on display is for sale. I adored it! The service was awesome - I always love chopping it up with Black bartenders - and the crowd was very very queer. I was legitimately in heaven. So much doesn't feel safe right now - especially with the J6 goon squad running amok in Chicago trafficking people. It was nice to be among my people enjoying great drinks in a buzzy atmosphere. Because we are old, we got there by 730 on a Saturday and surprisingly it was already packed! Patience won the day though and within 45 minutes we snagged some stools against the wall. I had a great time here and hope to return!

Yet, the bartenders greet us with such a warm and friendly energy that I know with absolute certainly that I have been a regular at this bar for years. Decades. Centuries. I know within my soul that this was my go-to bar in a past life (and hopefully in the next). Just as welcoming as the awesome people are the $1 PBRs and $3 shots of tequila. And of course they hand out free hot dogs every night at midnight, which in my (intoxicated) mind was cemented as the definitive Chicago dog, even if it comes with no toppings whatsoever. And fittingly complementing the amazing energy of the bar is a 10 hour Youtube video of that memed Ukrainian kid dancing at a club playing endlessly on the TVs. Rocking sunglasses and looking like a stud, absolutely grooving without a single care in the world, and effortlessly matching every single song on the bar's playlist. That kid truly embodies the spirit of this bar. No matter what day it is, what time of day it is, or who visits, the bar's energy always works. Vibing to Black Eyed Peas on a Monday night never felt better. Imma be... back one day, rest assured. I genuinely can't wait for the next time I'm greeted with, "Welcome back."

Service was okay. The kitchen seemed swamped, so it took awhile for food to come out. They didn't check on us super frequently. Overall, the food was good, and the people that I went with enjoyed the bottomless mimosa deal.

I love that as soon as you enter, you are transported to a tropical oasis that is dark and moody. I visited with a larger group so we made a reservation before. One pays $5 per person in your group and the amount is later applied to your bill. The food menu is minimal and most items weren't available sadly. We got two orders of their pineapple salsa with taro chips. It was yummy but wasn't enough substance to match the drink levels. For drinks, our group got a wide variety. They have all sorts of flavor pairings to accommodate every guest. I got the Captain's Revenge after hearing the Pearl Diver was unavailable. It was good but not amazing. For my second drink, I got the Chocolate Banana Old Fashioned which I thoroughly enjoyed. I didn't hear anyone in our group be disappointed with what they ordered. Our server, Jazmine, was very knowledgable about the menu and asking the right questions to make sure what we each ordered would be something we liked.
