Had a great stay here. The shower water wasn't as hot as I like but overall it was a great stay.

She was really busy keeping all the food refilled and the food area and dining tables clean. Doing a great job and very pleasant as well. The pool looked nice and very clean. I wasn't planning to use the pool but it did look inviting. This is a convenient location, easy to find just off the interstate.

Located just 5 or 10 miles from Frankenmuth, this was ideal and just minutes away. This was a newish Holiday Inn Express and was just fine for our purposes. The front desk greeted us warmly when we arrived, checked us in with no hitches, and we were all set. The place was reasonably clean, the lobby area pretty small but sufficient, and they had a nice pool for anyone looking for that. The next morning we patronized the little breakfast room and the food items they offered were just perfect. The staff operating the breakfast room replenished the foods regularly, making for fresh and hot choices. The prices here are more family friendly than those in the Frankenmuth downtown area. The bedding was nice and the beds were perfectly adequate for a short visit. Nice experience here, and we'd not hesitate to stay again when we return.

In all fairness there is a sign saying that the hotel is under construction (we didn't see any…read moreconstruction). This hotel was also short staffed so it did have an effect (more so at breakfast). The rooms themselves were decent though there were stains on the carpet in our room. There was a tv and a small fridge, but no microwave. The beds were firm and the pillows were soft. With that said, while I did manage a little bit of sleep each night, I woke up in pain every morning. The shower offers plenty of height however, the water pressure is severely lacking. The bathroom was large and it looks to have been redone at some point, but the toilet seems to be lower than normal. We did like that the room was spacious and had a desk and a table for counter space. The indoor pool had a pleasant temperature but there was a lot of chlorine so the outside doors were kept open thereby letting bugs inside and into the pool. Also, the pool is showing some serious wear with chips in many spots. The breakfast in the morning was lacking and the sausage tasted off. There was constantly a line for the waffle maker so unless you wanted to wait, there weren't many options. I would say it was typical hotel food but that would be too generous of a comment. My family did stay at this same hotel a few years ago (gave it 4 stars back then) and we can see how it has unfortunately gone downhill. Though the customer service was good, I can no longer recommend this location.

The carpets need cleaning. The pool area never had towels. The jacuzzi water was tempid -- I pee warmer than that. On the plus side, the room was clean. A testament to good housekeeping staff.

The…read morelocation is great; right beside the River Place Shops, and the building itself is massive, with tons to do: multiple pools, water slides, arcades, games, and even a huge indoor waterpark. It's an awesome spot for families. We loved the Bavarian theming and architecture throughout the lodge. Service was solid too; everyone we spoke with was friendly and helpful. Our room was spacious with a very comfy bed, plus a mini fridge with a freezer, microwave, and a couch. You also get a bunch of coupons for activities in the area, which is a great bonus. One thing we really appreciated was the adults-only section, a quieter area with a pool, hot tub, and a billiards table. Perfect for unwinding after busy days exploring Frankenmuth. Overall, a super enjoyable stay and somewhere we'd happily return to. For more honest travel and hotel reviews, make sure to check out our YouTube channel, A&M Roam!

Bought our room online, and signed up for the rewards program. The day of, we tried to get an earlier check in, but was told no. Tried to get a late check out and was told no. Checking in was a long line and not fun. The rooms are very outdated. They felt pretty clean? But the room definitely needs an overhaul. The names of the families is a cool concept regarding which room you stay in. But we had about 17 picture frames of this family watching over us while we slept, was weird. The beds at least were comfortable and felt clean with the bedding. It was nice to have a microwave and refrigerator in the room. But the bathrooms are definitely outdated and small. Getting to other areas of the hotels can be tough. I have a pretty good sense of direction, but it still was a challenge to get to which floor you need to go and what not. We got lost a few times or on the wrong floor. Signage is not the greatest. The family fun zone was great! Arcades were a lot of fun with different skill levels for all types of ages. Classic kids' play area gave me nostalgic vibes. Full circle to then have my child play on the same play scape as I did! Pretty good seating areas for families to take a break while playing the arcades and what not. The tickets versus prizes you get is laughable, but I feel like that's like that anywhere. The waterpark is epic! I'd give it five stars alone! The staff are super friendly and helpful. There is a security check of sorts when you walk in, especially if you have diaper bags and other bags. Plenty of tables and chairs for seating. We thought about getting a cabana and glad we didn't waste the money. The food at the waterpark was not horribly overpriced and tasted pretty good. The lazy river is not so lazy. It's more like a rapid than a lazy river. The toddler area is plentiful and has a ton of slides and areas. My kiddo was under 18 months so there wasn't much she could do. She loved the water itself, the swings and there was a tiny little slide she could go on. Kiddos have to wear life jackets and they were provided which was nice. The water slides for the adults were great. Fast and fun! The swim up adult bar was closed so some exhausted parents with grandparents being able to watch the kids...that was disappointing. Food options outside of the waterpark were also good! We didn't do a chicken dinner but got carry out from the hotel restaurant. Good portions, tasty, and easy to order. Enjoyed our stay! Other than the rooms being outdated. Our kiddos were entertained non stopped! You could easily visit the waterpark for a few hours or you could stay a few days.

Next night back to our room, there were ants in the bed. Moved to another room and the room was occupied and in a mess. Went back to front desk. Gave us another room at opposite end of building upstairs. We had been on first floor due to my disability. No offer to help us move to the room. I…read morecame here for a work conference with a fellow coworker and we received a discount for staying here (along with other attendees.) Walking in, the lobby is absolutely fabulous, beautifully decorated and well maintained. The staff greets you when you walk in and the front desk has at least one person, usually two working and available all the time along with a concierge. The hotel's located right on main street so you're close to the action of downtown midland. Plenty of restaurants within walking distance along with a private parking garage. There's street parking as well, but I think it's limited to no overnight parking. Speaking of food, the H hotel also has at least one (maybe two) onsite restaurants. I know one of them is called Cafe Zinc. While we didn't eat there, it looked super nice, and worth a shot if you want. The rooms here are amazing. High end mattress, beautifully laid out bathroom with a barn door, coffee station with a Keurig, small fridge and automatic blinds! I abused the automatic blinds and enjoyed not having outside lighting disrupt my sleep. They have a couch that's built into the wall, almost like a daybed. I tried laying on it but I didn't find it all that comfy to be honest. Plenty of charging ports, a robe, slippers and plenty of storage space for your luggage and clothing. The TV is hidden behind a mirror and blends in with the decorum. They have a pool here and an exercise room which I did not use due to lack of time. Valet is by request and aside from a tip, part of your stay here. The concierge will take your luggage up, but don't forget to tip! The meeting and conference rooms were fantastic. The hotel offers different sized rooms, and we used all of them. The largest I think is the Indigo where we ate and had breakfast. The catering staff did a fantastic job of serving breakfast on time and promptly at 7:30 AM, along with lunch as well for both days I was there. If something ran out, the staff refilled it immediately. In the conference rooms, they also provided a briefcase with office supplies if you should need them. I checked it out and actually had to use a few. Such items include highlighters, staplers, note cards, binder clips and other small ticket office items. They also have a fabulous courtyard that leads out into downtown midland. They have curling set up in the middle along with tables and benches throughout. At night, the tables have gas fireplaces so you can toast your buns if it's chilly, like it was the second day we were there. Our conference didn't use the courtyard a lot, but the other convention did. We also sat outside to eat once, and it was great. The only thing lacking was the garbage cans were hard to find. I think they had one by the door but additional garbage cans would've been great. My only complaint? The elevators were down when we arrived. I guess their renovating the two that they have in the lobby and it got annoying after a while. The repair guys were working on it and they got one up and running by the end of the day. The second one was totally out of service. I hope they get that fixed soon as carrying luggage or going up 5 flights of stairs doesn't sound exciting if you're coming and going all the time. Overall, this hotel's a gem and everyone should stay here at least once. What a fantastic experience!

The second visit, we were not able to get the same type of room and settled for a basic queen room. When we first got into the room, we attempted to lower the temperature of the room since it was hot. When the thermostat was lowered the temperature did not change. After contacting the front desk, who very professional, and we were informed the engineer would check out the room. When he arrived, he informed us the coolers were not turned on, but the room was still warm. His solution was to just open a window. Not customer oriented. The shower head was loose and would not stay in position while showering and had to be held in place. Not what was expected for a hotel of this caliber.
