I visited the H for a conference and had a great time. The H hotel is very luxurious from pillow chocolates to mirror TVs. The food we had for snacks and drinks for the conference was excellent. They also served us dinner one night with a trio of desserts. I enjoyed my entire stay.

Loved my stay here. The furnishings & trimmings are on par with a resort hotel. Electric blinds, TV disguised as a mirror & a mini fridge. Beds are very comfy & nice weighted duvet. We extended our stay twice. Breakfast restaurant is amazing. It's probably one of the best looking breakfast lunch restaurants I've been in across the world. Looks like it came out of France or London. They also have a diverse menu. We also were able to get our vehicle in the parking garage each night of the stay which was very nice. I would definitely recommend this hotel and would probably never stay anywhere else in Midland. We were there to see Dow gardens and also enjoy river days. Going out on the Tridge is beautiful in the moonlight. We also got to see the hot air balloons lift off which was a real highlight and a great firework show. The only disappointing thing was excessive chlorine smell in the Jacuzzi. But to end on a good note is open 24 seven along with the gymnasium.

I enjoyed staying at this hotel very much.  It is as the heart of Midland.  There are many interesting places and venues to visit and explore all within walking distance.  Within a short drive, or just a little longer walk or quick bicycle ride, there are another set of experiences awaiting. The hotel and property are kept impeccably.  It is neat, clean and pleasant.  I felt safe here.  The rooms are spacious and comfortable with good views.  The services in the room are kept up well and the rooms are attractive as well as welcoming. The food is hot, fresh and varied.  Expect fresh fruit, well made breads, cold juices, hot coffee and wonderful meals all around.  The staff is well trained and professional.  I was checked in easily and with professionalism and care.  I felt like I had arrived somewhere and they were glad to see me.  All of the staff was very positive and supportive while I stayed there.   We had a rather large business conference and the lighting, meals, venue and everything about the experience was businesslike but also contained the human touch.  There is art scattered throughout the grounds that is pleasant and stimulating to look at enjoy. I plan on returning with my family to enjoy all that Midland has to offer.  This is due, primarily due to the hotel, which I know I can count on a pleasant center of activity during our stay.

BEST HOTEL I have ever stayed! The decor of the hotel is very beautiful and inviting. The service at the hotel is amazing. The hotel has an underground parking garage, gym, lap pool, restaurants, office are and a bar. It is located in downtown midland, so all of the shops and restaurants are very close. The standard room is very nice and clean. The room has a desk, TV, iron, blow dryer and suitcase stand. The room we stayed had a beautiful view of the Tridge and running trials. The hotel gave us two wrapped cookies in our room when we arrived. Finally, I can't say enough about the service at The H. Every employee that we met was extremely accommodating and wanted to ensure our stay was perfect. I really could tell that customer service was their most important value. I cannot wait to come back!

'Ello chaps! The H Hotel is located in the heart of downtown Midland, Michigan, and boy the outside does not do it justice! Don't let the mental hospital-esque exterior sway you away. The inside of this hotel is an epitome of class and luxury. The hotel has an exterior parking lot and garage parking available for guests. On site work out facility and grand meeting/banquet/wedding space. The rooms are some of the best in this luxury level of hotels. One of the most comfortable beds I've had. The one thing I loved about the room is how they used the space. When you open the door, your eyes are immediately drawn to the large windows where we had a view of the nearby park. There is a couch that lines the wall giving you ample seating space to look outside or simply enjoy time with friends in your room. The only con is the "Smart TV". It was maddeningly slow and dysfunctional. The TV would constantly bug out, freeze and the only way to get the tv channel to change is by simply turning the tv off - which was a process in of itself.

I stayed there for 6 nights while my Mom was in the MyMichigan hospital for emergency surgery. Being only a few minutes from the hospital, it made it very easy to come back and take a shower and rest. The room was clean and a large layout with comfortable 2 Queen beds and a pullout sofa, and a nice desk area. My Dad, sister, and I switched on and off in the room so that someone always stayed in the hospital room with my Mom. The free breakfast buffet was a welcome treat in the mornings with lots of hot options like scrambled eggs, egg sandwiches, oatmeal, and waffles. We used the guest laundry machines once, which runs on quarters and worked great. They even let us checkout a little later since my Mom was being discharged that day. Special shoutout to Stephanie at the front desk who always asked how my Mom was doing. I recommend this hotel and will be staying there again if in the Midland area. Thank you so much!

Residence Inn by Marriott Midland - Black mold on the outer corners of the bathtub and shower hidden by the shower curtain

1 Star Residence Inn by Marriott - Midland, MI…read moreAs a Yelp Elite member, I've stayed at countless hotels -- and I can confidently say this was one of the most disappointing and unsafe stays I've ever had at a Marriott property. From the moment we checked into our suite, there were odd, foul odors in the hallway, bathroom, and the room itself. Maintenance did come and change the HVAC filter, but it made no difference. Housekeeping even admitted the bathroom and toilet smelled "off." We ended up running our own air purifier and keeping the toilet lid and bathroom door closed the entire stay. Things only went downhill: - Black mold was visible in multiple places -- in the bathtub corner, on the shower handle, and inside the toilet tank. I physically showed this to management, but they tried to claim it "wasn't mold." It absolutely was. - The kitchen pots and pans had mold inside them. Only after I complained did they bring replacements. - During our stay, a flood leaked from the second floor into the first floor hallway. The carpet was soaked (I stepped in it myself), but no dehumidifiers or drying equipment were ever used. Ceiling tiles stained from the water were left in place. - The hallway light fixtures by our suite were full of dead bugs, never cleaned. Then the safety hazard: my significant other hit his ankle on a nearly 2-inch metal post sticking out of the bedframe (meant to hold the mattress but not fitted right). His ankle swelled to the size of a golf ball. When we showed a photo to the manager on duty, she refused to even look, avoided eye contact, and flatly said, "that's unfortunate." No maintenance ever came to address it, no offer to move us. We had to extend our stay by four days so he could elevate his foot -- at our own expense. The last straw? On checkout day, because of his injury, I had to pack and move everything myself. I was granted a late checkout, then asked for just 20 extra minutes to finish loading the car. We left, I told the front desk we were gone, and yet they still charged me for an entire extra night -- for being 20 minutes late leaving a room with black mold that they denied existed. No discount, no apology, nothing. Just the same robotic indifference we experienced the entire stay, as if ignoring the problems would make them go away. Bottom Line: This hotel had black mold, unsafe furniture, poor sanitation, a flood that was neglected, and dismissive management. Instead of addressing obvious problems, they denied them -- and then had the nerve to charge us extra on the way out. Do yourself a favor: if you have kids or pets (we stayed here because we travel with our dog), just book an Airbnb

While this may be just fine in the public spaces, the rooms are unfortunately left behind modern times to their detriment. Small, utilitarian accommodation with marginal mattresses, scratchy linens, low quality paper products and old fixtures.
