The date and I wanted to spend the night up here and visit Frankenmuth and have fun times so we looked into a hotel in the area that wasn't 10 zillion dollars and close to everything we needed. Most of the hotels in this area (Birch Run & Frankenmuth) tend to be super expensive during the summer months due to its popularity and closeness to many different activities. While this place wasn't cheap, it really was a fabulous stay and had all the amenities that we wanted and needed for our stay. For starters, the properties clean and easy to find, at the corner of Dixie Hwy about a mile off I-75. Just far enough away (maybe 2 miles) to birch run, it was easy in and easy out with traffic and such. (birch run can be crazy busy at times.) Walking in the lobby was clean and decently decorated with modern amenities. Check in was simple and quick and staff was friendly and helpful. We were put in room 209 with 2 queen beds, a fridge and a microwave with a nice big bathroom. Tons of space to move around with really cool features to make it feel modern. Clean comfy beds with tons of pillows, fancy lamps and lots of space to put your stuff down and not trip over it. The bathroom was stocked with towels, washcloths and tons of toilet paper and was in really good shape. But here's where they lost a star and even though it's not a huge deal, it was annoying none the less. I don't know if was on purpose or not, but the bathroom door kept automatically shutting all by itself. A very minor inconvenience, but still a pain in the butt. I kept trying to prop the door open after I had showered to let some of the steam out and it would NOT stay open. Fortunately, there was a bag with a hair dryer in it and I used the strings from the bag to hold it open on one of the towel hooks they had on the wall. It got annoying after a while because when I was in and out getting dressed, I kept having to prop it back open. UGH. But the winning measure of the whole stay? THE HUGE BREAKFAST SPREAD! Holy goodness was it fabulous. They had two types of omelets, biscuits and gravy, cereal, waffles, oatmeal, pork (I don't eat pork) and TONS of other food. The staff was really good about keeping it stocked and moving with food when it would run out. They also have a fabulous coffee and tea station off to the side which we abused along with the kruieg from our room. The date loved it and it was a great way to start the day with the variety and options presented to us. They also have tons of seating to eat at in the lobby area which we loved so we didn't have to treck back and forth with food in the elevator. It was almost like a mini cafeteria! We definitely loved this the mostest! They also have a pool with a large hot tub which both are indoors and quite large. I think you have to use your room towels to dry off with but the desk said they can give you fresh ones when you leave. We didn't swim because we were so tired, but would have if we didn't have so much fun in Frankenmuth. In the lobby area they also have drinks available (pop, juice and water) for a reasonable price. Pop and juice $2, larger waters were $3. They also have vending machines near the elevators if you need a pop for the same price but don't want to walk downstairs. Overall a really great experience and I would do it again even though its not cheap to stay here during the summer. Thank you Holiday Inn!

Great location and very friendly staff. Breakfast was your typical fanfare of eggs, meat, muffins/bread. They did have an automatic pancake maker which was awesome, and their biscuits and gravy were good. They also had plenty of seating for breakfast so we didn't have to wait around for a table. The pool was a nice temperature and the hot tub was relaxing. The rooms were a good size and the beds were very soft and comfortable though they are high off the ground. For anyone shorter than 5'8 be prepared to literally climb into bed. The room has a desk, wardrobe, chase, and nice seating area by the tv. The bathroom was large and has a heat lamp for when you get out of the shower. The shower was the only downfall for us. It had great shower pressure but the different setting were horrible and the tub drained very slowly. We also had problems with water coming out of the shower and slightly flooding the floor. You can see that they've had water issues previously. Not a deal breaker though as everything else makes up for it. Despite the shower we would still visit here again.

Great hotel stay. Soft beds, too soft for me but initially they were great. The front desk was accommodating and got me a roll away crib for my baby even though they thought they were out she went the extra mile and got me one from another floor. Great service. Quiet. Nice pool. And clean. I will say the carpets in hallway need a good professional cleaning but I mean it's high traffic area. Definitely something the owner should consider.

Nice and clean Holiday Inn. With a good size pool and hot tub. Small, but effective workout room. Breakfast was better than most I have been to. They had the typical pastries, toast, cereal. However I am a "healthy eater" and like to keep my food clean. They had plain oatmeal, turkey sausage, and egg white/veggie omelettes. I appreciated that they gave some healthy choices. This location also accepts pets too (I didn't bring any though). They only bad comment I have is that they need to remove a compound TuffStuff cable machine in the workout room. It's not working properly and just is taking up space. I will definitely be back to this location next visit to our Grandparents!

I normally have a decent experience with Holiday Inn Express hotels. This time I was not very impressed. I do appreciate a nice clean hotel, but I am not above going to a lower end hotel as long as it is clean and kept up. There was only one room left and it was 8:45pm so I didn't want to drive around looking for other options. The room rate was $200 for a 2 queen bed room. This price is ridiculous for what we got. The lobby was just ok. Nothing special. The girl at the front desk was nice, but not exactly warm and welcoming. I would not stay here again, but it was sufficient for just one night. I attached some pictures of a few things that I think are just not great given how much I paid.

THE LOCATION The hotel is located just off the highway on the south side of the street. Conveniently located near Birch Run Prime Outlets, lots of places to eat (including the famous Tony's I75) and just miles from Frankenmuth, MI! CONTINENTAL BREAKFAST Very nice area & clean! Includes many items to choose from toast, bagels, cereal, waffles, pancakes, fruit, scrambled eggs, bacon, and the list goes on! various beverages available too. I do wish they serve breakfast a little earlier (we have kids that get up pretty early and are starving!). THE AMENITIES Indoor Pool with hot tub (very heavily chemicals so do take note!) Fitness Area Paid Laundry Arcade Free Wifi (get code from front desk) In room: dorm sized Fridge, Tv, Microwave, hair dryer. THE ROOMS. Clean, nicely decorated, spacious, nice bathroom. THE STAFF Were friendly, check in and out were quick. THE MISCELLANEOUS Overall the place was quiet, there were some people with lots of kids that made a ton of noise at night and the pool was crowded at the time we went. We will stay here again in the future.

It's a bed. One of two queens in the room.

Because of my job, I've had the distinct pleasure of staying at nearly hotel in the Birch Run area and I must say that this is my current favorite. The staff is friendly and helpful, the rooms are very clean, and the price is comparable to, and sometimes less expensive than, other similar properties in the area. I've also visited many HI Express properties in my travels and this one has perhaps one of the best breakfasts that I have seen. It has a full variety, it's well stocked, very well attended, and there was plenty of seating even on a busy Sunday morning. I'll definitely book here again for my next stay in the area.

In all fairness there is a sign saying that the hotel is under construction (we didn't see any…read moreconstruction). This hotel was also short staffed so it did have an effect (more so at breakfast). The rooms themselves were decent though there were stains on the carpet in our room. There was a tv and a small fridge, but no microwave. The beds were firm and the pillows were soft. With that said, while I did manage a little bit of sleep each night, I woke up in pain every morning. The shower offers plenty of height however, the water pressure is severely lacking. The bathroom was large and it looks to have been redone at some point, but the toilet seems to be lower than normal. We did like that the room was spacious and had a desk and a table for counter space. The indoor pool had a pleasant temperature but there was a lot of chlorine so the outside doors were kept open thereby letting bugs inside and into the pool. Also, the pool is showing some serious wear with chips in many spots. The breakfast in the morning was lacking and the sausage tasted off. There was constantly a line for the waffle maker so unless you wanted to wait, there weren't many options. I would say it was typical hotel food but that would be too generous of a comment. My family did stay at this same hotel a few years ago (gave it 4 stars back then) and we can see how it has unfortunately gone downhill. Though the customer service was good, I can no longer recommend this location.

Tub needed to be replaced, looked like it had been mended poorly. No bathmat, no washcloths. The other bathroom linens were shabby and unraveling. Very humid in the room though air conditioner worked. Loud, yelling, young people running up and down halls, knocking on random doors, loud activity til 1:00 am. Next night back to our room, there were ants in the bed. Moved to another room and the room was occupied and in a mess. Went back to front desk. Gave us another room at opposite end of building upstairs. We had been on first floor due to my disability. No offer to help us move to the room. In the new room, refrigerator was rusted inside, dirty and freezer had frosted over, so it was unusable. Will NEVER stay here again!

During non-covid times they offer a continental breakfast that is a nice touch before heading out to shop some more!

This is our 2nd year in a row visiting Frankenmuth with family members…read more We tried a new hotel this year and we were very satisfied with our choice. (Last year not so much) The Marv Herzog Hotel sits along the Cass River we chose the River side view, our room had a jacuzzi & small balcony. Our room was very clean with no visible signs of any issues. Bathroom had body wash, shampoo & conditioner all full. Daily room checks with fresh towels & bed makeover. We didn't feel comfortable on the balcony but the large patio was very nice with plenty of room and seating. Included with your stay is breakfast, typical of most hotels. What surprised us was you receive a drink ticket for 2 drinks German beer , wine or soda & hors d'oeuvres for a happy hour. All staff were very friendly & accommodating. Our refrigerator was not cooling the best & they allowed us to store our freezer packs & food in their refrigerator. Greatly appreciated this. Parking garage is tight, we have a truck and it was snug. No pool as this seems to be more of place for couples not necessarily families with small children. Although there were families there. The town offers a free shuttle which we used but most things are within walking distance. I am giving 4 stars because of the refrigerator & I wish we could have set the air conditioner for the fan to run continuously it didn't seem to have that function. & the tv didn't have a sleep mode. Overall I think we will stay here again in the future it has been kept up very well.

Our room was spacious with a very comfy bed, plus a mini fridge with a freezer, microwave, and a couch. You also get a bunch of coupons for activities in the area, which is a great bonus. One thing we really appreciated was the adults-only section, a quieter area with a pool, hot tub, and a billiards table. Perfect for unwinding after busy days exploring Frankenmuth. Bought our room online, and signed up for the rewards program. The day of, we tried to get an earlier check in, but was told no. Tried to get a late check out and was told no. Checking in was a long line and not fun. The rooms are very outdated. They felt pretty clean? But the room definitely needs an overhaul. The names of the families is a cool concept regarding which room you stay in. But we had about 17 picture frames of this family watching over us while we slept, was weird. The beds at least were comfortable and felt clean with the bedding. It was nice to have a microwave and refrigerator in the room. But the bathrooms are definitely outdated and small. Getting to other areas of the hotels can be tough. I have a pretty good sense of direction, but it still was a challenge to get to which floor you need to go and what not. We got lost a few times or on the wrong floor. Signage is not the greatest. The family fun zone was great! Arcades were a lot of fun with different skill levels for all types of ages. Classic kids' play area gave me nostalgic vibes. Full circle to then have my child play on the same play scape as I did! Pretty good seating areas for families to take a break while playing the arcades and what not. The tickets versus prizes you get is laughable, but I feel like that's like that anywhere. The waterpark is epic! I'd give it five stars alone! The staff are super friendly and helpful. There is a security check of sorts when you walk in, especially if you have diaper bags and other bags. Plenty of tables and chairs for seating. We thought about getting a cabana and glad we didn't waste the money. The food at the waterpark was not horribly overpriced and tasted pretty good. The lazy river is not so lazy. It's more like a rapid than a lazy river. The toddler area is plentiful and has a ton of slides and areas. My kiddo was under 18 months so there wasn't much she could do. She loved the water itself, the swings and there was a tiny little slide she could go on. Kiddos have to wear life jackets and they were provided which was nice. The water slides for the adults were great. Fast and fun! The swim up adult bar was closed so some exhausted parents with grandparents being able to watch the kids...that was disappointing. Food options outside of the waterpark were also good! We didn't do a chicken dinner but got carry out from the hotel restaurant. Good portions, tasty, and easy to order. Enjoyed our stay! Other than the rooms being outdated. Our kiddos were entertained non stopped! You could easily visit the waterpark for a few hours or you could stay a few days.
