Since I have a crazy schedule and unpredictable work hours/home hours/school hours, it was imperative that I select a full service package. And y'all-En Vogue delivers. She texts me, calls me, tags me, picks up vendor samples for me, proof reads emails for me, communicates with all the top vendors in the city, and goes above and beyond to de-stress a very stressful season in my already-chaotic life. To start off, it is not my goal to defame En Vogue Events, I am still a bride and customer service is HUGE to me. When looking for vendors, I want the opinions of an honest bride to help me, before signing a contract with a vendor. So, this is my reason for writing. I cancelled my services with the company over two (2) weeks ago and purposely waited this long before writing a review, to see if Haley Hughes would call to reconcile and admit to not following the contract, the company never called/email to apologize, so I decided to let her brides know what I experienced. If I were a confrontational person, who was rude and derogative, then I can expect a company/individual no longer provided their services, but I am the complete opposite. I just expect to get what I paid for and for a company/individual to do their job. I am still in the process of planning my wedding and when I worked with En Vogue Events, it started off okay, but then I noticed Haley would not respond to emails in a timely manner, I would have to remind her to send over timelines, she did not attend the floral meeting (which was stated on the signed contract), she did not contact me to attend meeting with other vendors (also on the signed contract), unreturned phone calls/emails...etc. When I first met with Haley, I mentioned that customer service is the most important quality of a company. She expanded on how she is great at that, she is anal and so business will get done...etc. Just last this month (May 2011), I had to cancel with her in the middle of my planning, because there is no way I wanted to give someone thousands of dollars and they did not care about my wedding When I realized I could not take it anymore, my fiancée and I schedule a meeting with Haley to discuss how this business relationship is not working and what she was going to do; since she did not follow parts of the contract. She understands that my fiancée and I live 60 miles out of the city, so we had to prepare the night before to meet with her. She wrote me around noon, the day we would meet, to cancel. This was not the first meeting she cancelled. After that, I knew she did not care about our wedding. Our venue in Dallas is beautiful and most of the brides who host their wedding there, is willing to pay a lot of money for vendors. Our contact at the hotel has many years of experience and loves to hear about vendors, so she can recommend to her brides. We also plan on having our wedding figured in magazines and websites, which would have also brought her additional contacts. I have no idea if it was a personal grudge (which I have no idea why it would be, because Haley and I barely spoke, she only showed to one meeting to get to know me.) The hotel recommended a new planner in Dallas and we are so happy. I said I would not go over budget for a planner, but I did, just because her recommendations from the hotel, and from other brides was positive. So if someone is willing to go above and beyond, we are willing to pay. This is a long email and I did not included other instances my fiancée and I had with En Vogue Events, but working with them was the absolute WORST part of planning this entire wedding. So, if you want a planner to care about you and your special day, in my opinion, this is not the company.

Since it was the day before the event, I asked to speak with someone else on her team who was available, but that request was ignored. Unfortunately, there were several issues with our order, including incorrect vase colors, no fruit as shown in the approved mock-up, missing bud vases, and incorrect floral placement on the main photo moment. We also had to pay an additional $24 to add the bud vases that had been missed. As a business owner, I found that disappointing especially for such a small additional amount, as it was an oversight on her end rather than ours. After the event, I emailed to share my concerns and never received a response. Overall, it felt like our event was not taken as seriously as it should have been, and that was reflected in the final execution.

I booked Event Planners Of Houston about two weeks out due to all the Covid-19 restrictions and not knowing If I would be able to have my special day. Event Planners of Houston was the main source of stress on my wedding day. I was hesitant to write…read morea review because they generously donated our coordination package for a Hurricane Harvey fundraiser, but I still should have received the same level of service as a full paying bride. Communication prior to the wedding was mediocre at best, and did not feel like a "month of" planning package. A week before the wedding, they were supposed to send me the wedding day timeline to approve. They did not send it to me and sent it to all my vendors with the incorrect start times causing all the vendors to contact me, and then I had to follow up with everyone and correct the time. The rehearsal was rushed and I felt like we were inconveniencing them. Everyone was excited for the wedding and EPOH made it seem like they had somewhere to be exactly an hour after our start time, even though we were the only event that day and they traveled specifically to coordinate our event. The day of the wedding, communication was horrible, I had to reach out several times to find out what was going on. I saw the coordinators one time before the wedding- We were all on site at the same location and I had to text to find out what was going on. The candy buffet was sad looking, and instead of leaving the extra candy for us as the contract stated, they packed it all up and took it home, including the candy we brought ourselves. Despite my bridesmaids saying they were lined up wrong, they were sent down the isle incorrectly and my maid of honor was first down the isle. Due to rain we started late, and the caterer said they were scheduled to leave before anyone was fed. EPOH coordinators came up and told me this while I was getting ready to be introduced. Again, this is an issue that they should have rectified before it even got to me. Luckily I had friends and family that was able to pick up the slack and deal with the issue. Finally, they took off at some point in the night, I'm not even really sure when. They did not say goodbye, didn't notify anyone they were leaving, and left for the night. It's because I'm the rarer male perspective that you may not come across too often throughout the planning of your wedding. I am letting you know that your future husband wants little involvement in this process, and he wants this whole ordeal to be as painless and stress-free as possible while sticking to an appropriate budget. This is where Unveiled Bliss comes in. My girlfriend (at the time) and I met in October 2009. We had been together for 12-years before the thought of a wedding came into the picture. We wanted to start our own family, and we knew it was our last chance to have a celebration with our closest family and friends. We did not care to have a traditional wedding at all. We wanted to have a destination wedding where everyone could actually enjoy themselves and have a good time. Having a destination wedding comes with all sorts of challenges, and we knew we needed help from a wedding planner to sort out the logistics of it all. After shopping around, we came across Brittany Zahora and Taylor Cozart from Unveiled Bliss, a duo wedding planning team based out of Houston, TX who specializes in destination weddings. Unveiled Bliss has invaluable knowledge and experience for destination weddings. When we met with them, they asked all of the right questions. They wanted to know exactly what we were going for. We said we wanted our guests to have an experience and to enjoy themselves rather than making us the center of attention. Once deciding our destination as Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, Unveiled Bliss provided multiple venues with amenities and experiences that our guests would remember for a lifetime. One thing I hate about weddings is that the food is typically mediocre. There may be so many guests, the chef makes a few generic and bland items to distribute amongst the crowd. We did not want this. Our focus was to have a reception with the best possible food and drinks in Cabo San Lucas. After looking through the options Unveiled Bliss provided, we chose Chileno Bay (from Auberge Resorts) as they were known to have the top restaurants and chefs across the entire city. They even had an option to provide guests with a tequila pairing for each item served at our reception. On top of this all, Unveiled Bliss knew how much we love our pug dog, Babu. Babu is my dog that I had to give up in 2011 as I struggled with immigration issues. We had been separated for 7-years before we reunited in 2018. Unbeknownst to us, Unveiled Bliss strategically placed Babu in subtle locations throughout the wedding. For example, there was a custom cocktail menu with our favorite drinks including "Babu's Spicy Margarita." All of the drinks were served with a wooden cocktail stirrer with Babu's face on them. As much as I didn't want to be involved in the wedding planning process, these little details meant everything to us. Overall, choosing Unveiled Bliss was the best decision. As a man who wanted to be completely left out of the planning, I put all of my trust into Brittany and Taylor. They made the entire experience seamless for me and my wife. Our family and friends enjoyed the wedding and reception, and we created core memories that will last forever.
